YELLOW JACKETS: Under my pool diving board…read more I didn't want spray poison dripping into my pool. I called for same day service. They sent Chris. Nice guy. He came. He saw. He conquered. Removed the nest with a bag, not chemicals. Done. Problem solved. We're happy & satisfied. Thank you Chris!

Hired Orkin for treatment of cicada killer bees in Aug2025…read more They charged me 450$ for the cicada bee treatment and then signed me up for a recurring maintenance program. I'm being charged 57$ monthly for the maintenance service. The totality of the service has not resolved the bee issue. Now I'm being told that the annual maintenance program is incorrect and what I need is a seasonal pest control program which they can change my policy to. They said they would come out for a free service this week for the bees, when they arrived they were unable to treat for the bees due to rain and instead charged me 85$ for a home treatment. Continued bait and switch and the issue is still unresolved, this feels fraudulent. Update: I have reached out to Orkin for resolution. on Monday, two different staff members called, neither had background on the issue and stated they would look into it and get back to me. On Tuesday they sent another service who AGAIN did not treat for the cicada killer bee issue that was specifically the reason for starting the pest control service over a year ago (service details posted below of that service report). I have not yet heard back any resolution for several issues including the failure to address the particular pest problem service that was originally requested, promising to deliver a free treatment on July 30 which they did not perform the service requested and did charge at an increased rate, selling me the incorrect service plan for over a year as stated by the manager who I spoke to last week (should have been a seasonal service since this particular pest is seasonal, they sold me a year round service which was not requested or needed).

There are two parts to any review for services like those Catskill ADC provides: 1) was it…read moreeffective? And 2) was the experience of having this services provided a positive one? Part 1: We hope so; it's only been a month but so far, no bat activity (Note used Catskill ADC primarily for bat exclusion or "bat-proofing" our home.) Part 2: Our experience was very unsatisfactory. We got a quote of $4,000 which seemed high, but we accepted it because he was so highly recommended by a friend. When the actual work got done, by Mark and one of his employees, it came to two work sessions totaling about 8 man-hours. ($500/man-hour!!) When we tried to have a conversation about this, Mark's response was that he had included 20 hours of travel time (ie commuting) to our site. For one thing, it's unethical to include travel time without pre-informing the customer. And the other thing is that even if 20 hours was ethical, it's still $200/hour. Finally, he said that we had agreed to the price, he had done the work, and that was the end of it, and if we delayed payment, we would face legal action. We confess that we are not experts in this field. Maybe bat experts do typically get paid that much, but if that's the case, it might have been explained before the work began, and absolutely should have been explained after we raised the question. Our advice to anyone reading this review is this: in your before-the-work discussions with Catskill ADC and all other providers, ask for an estimate of both the total cost and the man-hours involved. You'll have a better idea of what you're buying and fewer unhappy surprises as the work progresses.
