The staff were nice, and helpful. The kitchen facility is top-notch (I've been to hostels where the only kitchen conveniences were a microwave and running water) - didn't even have to wash my own utensils. I also didn't have to brave going to a sports bar to see the World Cup games; they were playing live on the hostel's large screen. The entire building was clean - especially the bathrooms - and I can't think of anything I might have needed that they didn't have. It had been a minute since I stayed at a hostel, and I thought I might feel out of place as a middle-aged adult traveling alone; I didn't! There were lots of adultier adults around. The price alone makes this hostel a terrific deal, and I will definitely stay here again when I am next in Boston.

Boston is an incredibly walkable city, and aside from the JFK Library, I was impressed at how close the hostel was to so many iconic locations: Beacon Street, the Commons, City Hall, and the Boston Public Library, just to name a few. I loved how I didn't need a car to get to any of those locations, because everything was walking distance. The hostel itself was outstanding. I loved that for guests, there's a dedicated floor for pool, hanging out, a kitchen area to eat and cook, etc., but I also loved the daily activities they had for guests: On the night I stayed, they had a drinks mixer to meet people, and I got to meet people from Peru, Germany, New Jersey, Australia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and other places. We did a bar crawl based on availability and who the staff knew and had relationships with. The staff took us to the bar where the Founders planned the Boston Tea Party. As a guy who loves history and reads about history and travels to places for its historical sites, there was genuinely nothing cooler than being to go get a drink at the same bar where our Founders planned to throw tea into the Harbor. I have to warn people that I thought about bringing a lock before my stay, but I didn't. The front desk has locks for $8 in case you need something. The bathrooms were well maintained, and the bathrooms had soap and shampoo. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place where the staff will facilitate ways for you to meet people and hang out.

I was very unsure which area to stay in, but I'm so happy I chose CCB because the location is absolutely perfect. Back Bay is very nice and safe. You even have a wonderful park just outside the doorstep to walk around, and the lovely Boston Commons only two blocks away. Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. If you are staying in Boston on a vacation/longer stay, I would NOT recommend. I stayed here for 4 nights over 4th of July weekend and although it's in the perfect area for visiting the city, it's not what I was expecting. This is my first time visiting Boston and I love Boston, it's beautiful, but next time I'm staying somewhere with a lot of more space and accommodations. The rooms were tiny, if it's just 1 person staying in a room then okay it would suit you, but it was my fiancé and I and there was 1 teeny tiny spot for your 1 suitcase. It was congested. The bathroom, this may be a little tmi but my fiancé likes his privacy when he's doing his business on the toilet, and there's no privacy whatsoever, no ventilation, just a clear door and echos. When you are going out to eat and you get full, you like to take home leftovers, right? Well when I complained to the front desk about not having a mini fridge or a microwave, they offered to store food for us at the front desk. I'm sorry but I don't trust people with my food, whether they're professional or not, I do not care, I'm not keeping my food at the hotel front desk? It just doesn't make sense! They said they could give me a mini fridge but it wouldn't be big enough to hold leftovers (so what's the point?) and also, where would we put any kind of mini fridge in this tiny room!?! Also, this is where "reading the fine print" comes to play. I booked my reservation through the hopper app. Whenever I booked it, it gave me a set price of around $843. Okay fine, no big deal it's Boston, I planned to spend some money on my stay. But what it didn't show me, unless I really did some research to find it, that there's a "resort fee" of roughly $52 a night for the "accommodations". What are the accommodations? The robot? The restaurants? There was NO pool? That's just a little ridiculous if you ask me to have to pay for things like that when if I was to use the robot or restaurant I'm paying for the items that I'm getting?! So when I checked in they had to charge me another $609 that they said $400 of it would come back to me, it kept a hold on my card pretty much the whole stay. That was a lot of my vacation money so I was limited due to this. So they charged me $1000 for this little room with nothing but a bed that reclines (yippee!) to make more room, which wasn't much more, just a little bit of walking space... All in all, I'm just very disappointed with Yotel. It looked great on the listing but wasn't up to the standards a normal hotel should have. Our flight had got canceled so we stayed in a holiday inn and its had everything and more that was needed for the same price. Just keep this in mind if you are visiting somewhere, you will not have the necessities other hotels have for the price you are paying!

The shower was modern and glass enclosed. A few things that could be improved could the the paper goods (paper towels and toilet paper were not the best quality, and the internet was a bit sporadic and slow - speeds sometimes of only about 1-2 Mbps). We loved the comfortable bed. Firm but not too firm and our pillows were all very nice...a total of six of them....making it very good for me since I like to have at least two when I go to sleep. The lady at the check-in lobby was very sweet and nice. Overall a great place to stay. Either for just one night or for extended stays.

The room is clean and spacious and has plenty of amenities. We had a single queen with a standing shower, a desk with 2 chairs, a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, mini fridge, and even a small electric stovetop. A great room for a great price. The only thing I wish was different is the toilet: you have to "pump" the flush handle to get it to clear out, but it's manageable after you get the hang of it. The staff working here are attentive and kind. Juberto helped us with check in and check out (even let us check out an hour later at 1pm), and gave a friendly greeting every time we walked through the door. The English pub downstairs, Elephant & Castle, is a great respite after a long day sight-seeing and we appreciate Jimmy so much for how welcome he made us feel. They claim to provide a shuttle to the airport for an additional $10.00 which we asked for a 9:30a.m. shuttle and again that was not provided as no one was around and would not answer a phone call or a text. The room we were in was hot, plus there were sheer curtains only on the windows plus a skylight right over the bed which made for an early wake up call from the sun. Plumbing fixtures were loose on the sink and falling off the shower and toilet. We were handed old towels and no wash clothes at all. The only soap in the bathroom was the persons who had vacated the room for us to stay, all that is on top of the 3 flights of stairs up a dark narrow stairway to get to your room. overall one of the worst experiences we ever had staying in a B&B or hotel Sandy & Dan D

The shuttle service is one of the biggest issues. During my stay, I watched multiple Hyatt shuttles come and go while I continued waiting for the Embassy Suites shuttle. The scheduling and reliability could definitely use improvement, especially for guests who rely on it to get to and from the airport. Customer service over the phone also needs attention. Calls often go unanswered for an extended period, and instead of a staff member greeting you or asking if you can hold, you're simply placed into a waiting queue. A small courtesy, such as acknowledging the caller before placing them on hold, would make a much better impression. The hotel itself is also showing its age and would greatly benefit from a comprehensive renovation. The property has a lot of potential because of its location, but the facilities no longer reflect the quality many guests expect. I'm not writing this to criticize for the sake of criticizing. I'm sharing honest feedback in the hope that management will address these issues. I've enjoyed staying here for years and would like to see the hotel return to the level of service and quality it once offered.
