The issue is not with the lodge, the land, or the guides. the only issue I had was with the other hunters there at the same time. hunting hogs requires scent control, noise control and patience. you cannot expect to crawl in a stand stinking of cigarettes and beer and expect to see hogs. Bring the right equipment, expect to sit in a stand overnight in the swamp, control your scent and you odds will increase exponentially. also, both time I saw their efforts to bait the areas. sometimes with feeders, other times manually spreading bait.

There's no maid so if you make a mess, there's going to be a mess. Tom and his crew at Cherokee are absolutely TOP NOTCH. They work hard to provide fair chase, wild animal hunts to their clients. The lodge is a comfortable, clean bunkhouse with all the amenities you need to enjoy your time in camp. Donovan put my Son on his first deer and Tom does his best to keep you motivated through tough hunts. REAL hunters know that it's not always about the kill. It's about the fellowship with new friends, a good meal, and enjoying time in Gods creation. We have been to Cherokee multiple times and plan to return next season for several hunts. ( 12 1/2 stars)

He really knows how to narrate a ride using great storytelling that mixes a deep knowledge of wildlife facts and points of interest with local lore in a truly engaging way. He also mixed in lots of hands-on learning, letting anyone on board touch or hold the crabs and fish he pulled from the traps or the many artifacts he had on board. We were also encouraged to give his sweet dog lots of petting and attention. He made sure to give us enough time to enjoy the fascinating and beautiful sites along the way - including a large pod of feeding dolphins. The stop at the island was magical and a great way to break up the journey. We enjoyed a little picnic and taking a long walk along the beach. We also appreciated the great information that we were given in advance about what to bring and expect. All in all, this was a wonderful experience!

Our tour guide, Harry Spore, was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to explain the intricacies of the local ecosystem. We loved every moment of the tour. The views and sights all throughout the tour were wonderful and I wish we had more time to see more. Will definitely do go with this company again for further tours.

The winery has a large property with plenty of space to explore, including what appears to be a small farm with chickens and pigs. On a warm day, the outdoor seating areas with games would likely make for a lovely experience. However, when it came to the wine tasting, the samples were served in plastic cups, which some may actually prefer. But for us, it took away from the overall experience. And most importantly, the wines themselves just didn't impress our palates. We tried a variety of their offerings, but nothing really stood out or compelled us to purchase a bottle to take home. It's a shame, because the setting is really quite nice. But at the end of the day, the wine is the most important factor, and this winery missed the mark for us on that front. If you're in the area and want to spend some time outdoors in a charming environment, it could still be worth a visit. But I wouldn't go out of your way, especially if you're a serious wine enthusiast.
