Some of the employees are very compassionate gentle and caring but some should not even be employed there. Unfortunately with a small town and limited options to place older aging family members. My mom has been here for about a year now and I have had no complaints with the facility, the care, the nursing, the rehabilitation and the staff. The People that make up Val Verde Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are the most nicest, friendliest and educated staff. They provide excellent care for dementia and Alzheimer disease. The facility is undergoing a facelift at this time and their parking lot needs improvements, but that is just cosmetic. What matters is the care that this facility provides to their residents. My poor sister had a handmade quilt (worth approx $200) and her beloved teddy bear taken from her. Staff were informed but after two weeks, it's doubtful the items are even still in the facility....
