My mom was admitted April 3rd 2021 and lasted two months with rapid decline . Initial staff displayed very caring behavior and DIrector of Nursing was and is super attentive but not her staff. During several of my visits I had to wait sometimes up to 20 minutes at nurses station to get help. This is unacceptable when you have patients who are in distress or have fallen and need your attention. Most of time nurses were laughing taking a break and not doing their rounds . I understand there is a patient to nurse ratio but come on. During my last visit I found my mom unresponsive and she'd been like that for 4 days and not eating or drinking water . When nurse was asked her situation she literally shrugged her shoulders . Then upon continued questioning she said a message had been left with the facility doctor . My response was " ok in the mean time let's just let her Lay there unresponsive till doctor has time to respond ." Next day they sent her to hospital she was severely dehydrated , malnourished, with a horrible bed sore and with UTI. We literally saved her life with visiting her otherwise their continued response would've been she's doing ok. We decided to take her home and she had a complete turnaround like when she was initially admitted . She left unresponsive , with no mobility and now she has recovered . I completely understand that skilled care may not be available due to time, staff and lack of skills at the level of care my mom required but why not just say so. This is not the place for someone who requires the need to be fed by mouth as It takes an hour to feed my mom and clearly they weren't feeding her the way she was needing to be fed . Don't take your loved ones here if they can't speak up or move on their own. Horrible experience but really hope no other patient goes through this nightmare . read more
