I had taken home a sleep apnea device a while back, then took it back the next day. When I called about the results, I was told it showed I do have sleep apnea but the device only tracked my apnea for a few hours, because it came off my face sometime during the night while I was asleep. When I stopped by to ask if they could put my results in writing, they called the dentist to talk with me in the lobby; he then reiterated what I'd already been told by his staff. When I asked him if he could put that in a quick memo for the VA, he stated he couldn't because my sleep study was "inconclusive." So did he think that I would just suddenly NOT HAVE SLEEP APNEA if my study had lasted another 4 hours?! He couldn't just write that the study showed that I do have sleep apnea which was tracked for x amount of hours? As many times as I had previously gone there to get my teeth cleaned I really didn't think I was asking too much. I had my consultation today for all-on-X procedure. i was very honest about my financial limitations when conversing with the staff over the phone. Based on my research the zirconia arches are under a $1000 each and implants are available for under $100 each. I let them know on the phone that I had a hard limit of $20k for this procedure but they still asked me come in anyway. After pleasantries, I reiterated my hard limit and they continued to go through the imaging process. In the end they presented an itemization that added up to over $72k and then graciously reduced that, by doing nothing, to just under $50k. The Hippocratic oath indicates a doctor should do no harm. That should include psychological and financial harm. Based on my calculations they are attempting a profit margin of ~1000%. Had they been honest and transparent I would have respectfully accepted the fact they could not meet my price point. Instead they had me take a day off work, drive 5 hours, and waste my time. This office needs to respect their clients more and reconsider their ethics. example retail dental supply pricing. One day post ROOT CANAL.... I am FINALLY able to say I slept pain free for the first time in a long time! My original appointment wasn't until the 15th of February, but I called them and told them I was in extreme pain and rather than say "OK take ibuprofen bla bla bla see you later" they told me to come in and squeezed in my root canal !!! This place is AMAZING!!! No seriously! I know it's a DENTIST'S office but they are so nice, so accommodating ,extremely professional & SUPER HIGH TECH!!! I have lived in many places across the US and this by far is the absolute BEST Dental office I've ever been to! Dr. Taylor made me feel right at home, I was very calm throughout the whole procedure (a ROOT CANAL) and at some points I almost fell asleep..... no joke. The staff is super friendly it's like you're visiting people you've known for a long time very professional office I love it clean phenomenal you should go if you're looking for a new dentist or afraid to go to the dentist this is the place you should go today will make you WANT to go back Dr. Taylor is not very fluent in "patient with a numb mouth" LOL but he did all right understanding what I was trying to get across.
