Very cute place with great views and seafood…read more We had the chowder, seafood mac and cheese, land and sea platter, and sablefish. The chowder was delicious and I also thoroughly enjoyed the other seafood. The prime rib was okay although I think I would pass on land next time and just get seafood here! Service is very friendly although takes a little time - the vibe is a small town family run restaurant. The interior is very cute and romantic with great waterfront views. The only qualm I had about the interior is that there were a distracting number of fruit flies (I think I had 3-4 that died in a single beer). Hopefully they can install a fly trap or something as it did detract from the lovely interior. Overall I would happily return if I'm in the area for more seafood.

Update: I went back and forth about whether to post this, but ultimately felt it was worth sharing…read more Unfortunately, the food that evening did not live up to the beautiful setting or the experience we had hoped for. What was most off-putting, however, wasn't even the food. It was watching the chef openly berate our waitress over issues with the food--food that he was ultimately responsible for preparing. Watching a staff member be spoken to that way, especially in front of guests, was incredibly uncomfortable and overshadowed the entire evening. A disappointing meal is one thing, but the way people are treated matters just as much. We left with more than just a bad taste in our mouths, and unfortunately, what should have been a lovely evening became memorable for all the wrong reasons

Our only issue was its on a curve on a 90k highway and is a scary spot to pull out from and you can easily miss it going North. Signage to warn traffic of turning vehicles and big caution signs and lower speeds on that stretch should be implemented by highway department.

After driving for about 1.5 hours and find Sue's B & B and Brown's Bay Marina Restaurant both closed, we were super hungry when we finally arrived at this place. This is a really small "hut" and when we approached, we weren't even sure whether there is real food or it's just a convenience store. We were SUPER excited when we discovered that they served food. The place was small, cozy, and packed with people. There was only a lady cooking in a home-style kitchen, so don't expect your food to arrive that quickly. People also seemed to know each other, and I've never felt that way in Vancouver before. My husband ordered a seafood chowder and salmon grilled cheese while I ordered a seafood melt. The portions were very generous, and the food was SUPER good. DID NOT expect food to be at that quality AT ALL when we first entered. Highly recommend this place for anybody going to Campbell River for whatever reason. One thing special to note is that they allow dogs to go in, so some people may have problems with that. I love dogs though.
