For dinner my partner opted for the chicken platter that she really enjoyed; lots of fresh components and interesting small side portions. I had the scallops and pork belly that I have never had before, but would absolutely have again here. Add this restaurant to your list whether staying in the lodge or not. We came for dinner and the view of Cox Bay is unbelievable! We got to watch the sunset and it was incredible. Too bad they don't have an outdoor patio but considering the rain, wind, and storm weather in Tofino, there's probably a reason why. Decor and ambiance is cozy, elegant, airy, and timeless elegance. Service here is attentive and warm. We ordered the house made bread to start (small comes with 6 pieces) with sourdough and charred leek butter. This was really homey and comforting. I ordered the Shrimp Carbonara for my entree and my partner got the Crispy Chicken sandwich. The shrimp carbonara take on the dish is served with udon noodles, shrimp, smoked black cod, butternut squash and topped with soft egg in a miso butter, garlic, chili, and parmesan sauce. The dish was hearty, filling, flavourful, yet not too heavy. It really hit the spot and I enjoyed it quite a bit. My partner enjoyed his huge Crispy Chicken sandwich and was thrilled that they had enough hot sauce on the chicken for some kick. Come for the views, food, or service - you can't go wrong. They also currently have a special multi-course for under $50/person from 5pm to 6pm.

The restaurant is perfectly located overlooking the dock so you can watch all of the activity going on in the marina and it's gorgeous. The chowder was delicious and I also thoroughly enjoyed the other seafood. The prime rib was okay although I think I would pass on land next time and just get seafood here! Service is very friendly although takes a little time - the vibe is a small town family run restaurant. The interior is very cute and romantic with great waterfront views. The only qualm I had about the interior is that there were a distracting number of fruit flies (I think I had 3-4 that died in a single beer). Hopefully they can install a fly trap or something as it did detract from the lovely interior. Overall I would happily return if I'm in the area for more seafood.

What was most off-putting, however, wasn't even the food. It was watching the chef openly berate our waitress over issues with the food--food that he was ultimately responsible for preparing. Watching a staff member be spoken to that way, especially in front of guests, was incredibly uncomfortable and overshadowed the entire evening. A disappointing meal is one thing, but the way people are treated matters just as much. We left with more than just a bad taste in our mouths, and unfortunately, what should have been a lovely evening became memorable for all the wrong reasons
