I really like Dr. Sean and believe he is a good Chiropractor. He is friendly and his adjustments often do the trick. On the flip side, he tends to lag a bit behind on appointments so do not be surprised if there is a wait. As far as his massage therapists go: I am VERY picky about what makes a GREAT masseuse/masseur and, if you are like me, would not recommend them. I have tried both and was not impressed. Jacob is a sweet guy--the sweetest! Unfortunately, his well defined muscles seem to disappear on the massage table and I am left me wanting more. I have tried multiple chiropractors in LA and dr Betty is great. She spends 15-45min adjusting me with multiple treatments depending on what I need that day. She takes insurance or she allows you to buy a plan of upfront adjustments and them submit to insurance yourself. It's super affordable and amazing. Where do I start? Let me first say that I LOVE Backbenders. I came to this office in crises with pain in my shoulder like I had never known possible. The team of Dr. Betty and Lulu took great care of me and I felt relief from my very first visit onward. Aside from the treatments, Dr. Betty took time to educate me and she helped me to understand what was happening; which I appreciated more than I can say! My treatment is ongoing and I look forward to each visit. I have been given exercises to do that can cause discomfort, but I know once I get there, I will leave feeling better. And the range of motion that I have gotten back in my shoulder makes it so that I will go through the pain that comes from doing the exercises, but I really can't wait to see Dr. Betty and/or Lulu because they both have brought me so much relief. My orthopedic surgeon scheduled an appointment with me to talk about surgical options, but when I got there and he saw the level of progress I had achieved in such a short period of time, he decided that surgery may not be necessary after all. I have to say I was incredibly nervous when I heard that Dr. Sean was leaving Backbenders. I'd been going to him for almost 2 years and I loved his no nonsense approach and his sense of humor. I started going here for chiropractic adjustments last year when I threw out my hip after a kickboxing class. It felt as though I had a baseball wedged in my side and it hurt to sit and move side to side. Dr. Betty is very attentive to detail and takes her time which makes all the difference. When the Zen music or birdsong soundtrack is on, I have practically fallen asleep while under the heating pack. Dr. Betty administers different treatments based on how you are feeling that day. Dr. Betty really listens to what particularly ails you that day. I have received a variety of treatments from heat packs, to e-stim, to trigger point therapy, as a precursor to the chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Betty is knowledgeable, prescribing appropriate stretches to help strengthen/alleviate problem areas. They are so understanding and practically bend over backwards trying to accommodate your schedule. You never have to wait if you have an appointment. What's awesome are their very reasonable prices!
