I'm disabled, and my motorized wheelchair broke right before I was supposed to leave for a VERY…read moreimportant trip to New York City. I searched online for a place where I could rent a mobility scooter on short notice. The scooter needed to be delivered the next day. I found this company online, which was among the only few that said that they would deliver the next day. I was discouraged by all of the negative reviews here, but I was so desperate and willing to try anything. I put in my order Sunday evening, and first thing Monday morning, a lovely gentleman showed up at my door at about 10 AM with a scooter ready to go. These folks saved my bacon big time. I was able to go and come back, and on the agreed day of pick up, the same lovely gentleman showed up at about noon to retrieve the scooter. It was all done very simply, with no fuss or ceremony, and I didn't have to do anything. So grateful. That was my experience. I'd say this company is worth a shot if you find yourself in a position similar to mine. My only critique is that the company would have available more scooters that can accommodate higher weight limits.

I rarely write negative reviews, but the equipment and service we received from Clouds of Good…read moreduring our recent trip to Boston were deplorable. We are three travelers in our 80s, one of whom needs a mobility scooter when walking more than a short distance. We rented a scooter for two days in downtown Boston. The scooter was dropped off by David at our Boston hotel, on time and with a battery that showed a full ten-bars of charge. So we set out in the morning on our first day to tour the Boston historic district. Less than an hour out, the battery plunged to two bars. We called David and asked for his assistance and a replacement scooter, but he said that he had no scooters available and that this was entirely normal. And if the battery did fail, he said, no problem. Just put it in neutral and push it back to the hotel (again, we're in our 80s with one of us mobility-impaired). At the same time, we called Clouds of Good customer service and requested assistance. They said that they would look into things and call us right back. We got no callback. So we headed back toward our hotel and, sure enough, the battery soon died completely. Stranded, we oldsters pushed the scooter a half mile back to the hotel through the heavily trafficked streets and sidewalks of Boston. To make matters worse, the scooter's wheels locked every ten feet or so, requiring us to fiddle with the shift lever to unlock them each time. An unhappy, rude, and almost hostile David finally met us at the hotel carrying a replacement battery. It showed ten bars and he declared that everything was fixed. We said we didn't think the battery was the problem but he belligerently insisted that all was well. He said gruffly that he wouldn't argue with us about it. If we didn't like it, he'd simply take the scooter back. We foolishly agreed to try again and started back out. But the same thing happened--the battery level plunged and we pushed the scooter back to our hotel. We called David again and he announced that he'd collect the scooter from the hotel the next day. But he offered no explanations, alternative solutions, or apologies. And, once again, we called Clouds of Good customer service. After several attempts and long waits, they finally answered. We insisted that we should get a full refund. They said they would check into things and call us right back. But, again, they never called back. That's the last we ever heard from Clouds of Good or David. Our first day completely shot, we rented a scooter from another company for the second day. So, if your looking for mobility equipment in Boston, steer clear of Clouds of Good, and especially steer clear of David. They provided a decrepit scooter (lots of duct tape), ruined our day, and left us stranded in dangerous situations. David was rushed and rude and the company was entirely indifferent and nonresponsive.

Rather disappointed in my experience. As an Irish family, we always love checking out Irish stores…read moreand giftshops when we travel. In prepping for our visit to Boston, I read several reviews raving about Irish Eyes. So, we made it a point to stop by and check it out. We arrived at the Market around 10:15 am. The market's posted hours state that it opens at 10 am and Irish Eye's Yelp page indicates that they open at 9 am. So, we thought we'd be good to go when we found the booth around 10:30. As we approached, the lady was busying herself with part of the display. So, we thought we'd browse around and give her plenty of space to finish her work. No sooner than we stepped up and began scanning the offerings, she curtly states, "not open yet, guys." As someone who has worked in retail, I get it. Sometimes you're just not ready or something happens to delay opening. So, it's not what was said so much as the tone it was said in. Also, I feel like there are just a hundred other ways to communicate that in a way that expresses, "I'm not ready just yet, but please come back in X minutes and we'll be all set." But the reception we received felt more like, "I don't want to be here and I don't want you be either." So, we left and didn't bother coming back.

Edit:The affiliate manager, Raffi, called me to apologize and explain this not how they want…read moretraveling baby represented. They contract out to local companies and unfortunately the company in Boston is Baby's A Go. He said they would not be working with them again due to the complaints they have received in addition to mine. If you book with Traveling Baby in Boston I would just confirm you will NOT be booked with Baby's A Go. Raffi was extremely apologetic and helpful and I appreciated that he reached out personally to discuss this issue. Original review: I did some research before renting car seats for our trip to the east coast and had read all the horrible reviews about Baby's-A-Go and knew I absolutely DID NOT want to rent with this company. I found Traveling Baby - which had excellent reviews for the Los Angeles branch and although there were no reviews for this Boston branch I decided to take a chance. Imagine my incredible disappointment when I found out that they are the same company. Different names, different websites but (in Boston) the same company with the same rude owner, Tom. Before renting from "Traveling Baby" I called to ask if the car seats are up to date and I was assured me that they update their seats every few years. I was satisfied with this because I was sure that a company would not put themselves in a position of renting unsafe car seats. We flew into Boston and were driving to Narragansett, RI. We were happy to hear that our 2 car seats (one convertible and one infant) were waiting for us at our rental car company already. That is about all the positive I can say about this company. The seats clearly old and did not look that clean. But I had come prepared with disinfecting wipes. We wiped them off, installed them and hit the road to RI. I sat in between the kids in the back and the whole ride I kept looking at the seats noticing how old they were. When we got to our house, I wanted decided to take the car seats out to look for their expiration date. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that the infant Graco car seat had a stamp engraved on the bottom that said "DO NOT USE AFTER DECEMBER 2013" (we rented in June 2016). The convertible car seat was a Britax Marathon and we could not find an expiration date on it but we did find a manufactured date which was February, 14, 2005. I went on the Britax website and confirmed that the Marathon seat expires 6 years after manufactured date. This car seat was 11 years old!!! We immediately called "Traveling Baby" which is when we found out the company was actually Baby's-A-Go when Tom answered the phone using that company name. We explained our situation and that we were very upset to have driven 1.5 hours with our 2 babies in very expired seats. He did not have much to say other than "well I don't know how you got those seats". He was not apologetic, was not concerned and rude to me. I gave the phone to my husband who did get angry with him (rightfully so at this point) and insisted this situation be righted. We wanted 2 different car seats brought to us. Tom said he has delivery people but he would not send any of them to us nor would he bring them himself. His response "I am running a company I can't be driving that far". My husband agreed he would not normally insist anyone drive that far but since he is "running a company" he should want to correct this concern any way he could. We had rented a stroller from a local company in RI and I was able to get ahold of them and arrange to get car seats asap. After us doing ALL of the coordinating we finally settled on this solution: Tom from Traveling Baby/Baby's-A-Go would refund our money and we would get car seats from the other company. We would return all 4 car seats to Tom on our return to Boston Logan airport and he would then ship the car seats back to the other company. We spent the first 2 hours of our family vacation dealing with and coordinating this. Yes, Tom did refund our money and for that I am thankful but this was only after we put up a big fight. This was not a matter of just cleanliness. These were not car seats that were only a few months or a year expired- these car seats were 3 years and 5 years past their expiration dates and this is putting children at risk who ride in them. There is a reason for car seat expiration dates - http://csftl.org/expired-seats/.When we coordinated our return to Boston Tom suddenly had an explanation for how we got these seats- "it was a mistake bc we keep the old seats for parts and to donate to 3rd world countries and you accidentally got one of those." That's interesting since we found another review with a similar situation from 2012 where Tom told the customer "he felt like car seat expiration dates were a "gimmick" of the manufacturing companies and that the seat had "only been used 3 times..." (http://www.yellowpages.com/winthrop-ma/mip/babys-a-go-465638597). Do yourself a favor and stay away from this dishonest company with a rude owner!
