I am surprised and disappointed by Restoration Hardware's new shipping policies. I wanted to place a $199 trundle mattress order, only to find out both online and when I called, that my only option was $125 unlimited shipping on this item. $125 to ship a $199 mattress? All your competitors, which I regularly shop, offer better shipping opportunities to the end consumer. Crate and Barrel has unlimited shipping, but for orders under $450, they offer standard shipping, at about $30 for their trundle bed mattress. Pottery Barn (WS, West Elm) all have better deals too. For example, it costs $30 to ship the $239 trundle bed mattress at Pottery Barn Kids. Land of Nod offers standard shipping too ($22) on their equivalent trundle mattresses. Of coarse, your dimensions were in line with what I wanted, and after being happy with the trundle bed we purchased last year, I thought I might choose you again. But your inflexibility on the shipping policy despite this practice not being in line with your direct competitors, has convinced me you don't value your repeat customers, and that in this economy, you are simply not using common sense to run your business. In fact, the "Customer Advocate" I emailed is a complete misnomer, given the inflexible, dismissive response I received. I was told essentially to pound sand.
