Where do I start? My wedding happened on June 28th 2014 last year and I finally had time to come on here and really put into details of my experience with Babylon. Our wedding consisted of an intimate approximately 140 guests in Casa Loma. Like your typical woman, I had dreamed of the beautiful fairytale wedding where everything went perfect but of course reality is rarely that and Babylon is the reason. I already knew EXACTLY the type of decor that I wanted for the ceremony and reception with complete vision after endless hours online looking at endless pictures. And for this sole purpose that's why I went with Babylon, they were MUCH MUCH MUCH more affordable compared to my original decor vendors that I originally contemplated of using such as Rachel A Clingen and FOS decor that were on a higher scale. I didn't need the service, I didn't need the vision, I didn't need someone to provide their expertise and suggestions to creating that perfect fairytale wedding but rather I wanted someone who was just able to simple execute what I already had in place. We met the owner Rafi at his store and his decor looked a bit tacky compared to that Wed Luxe look that I was going for. I specifically was very particular on my backdrop so I showed him pictures of what I wanted with just a simple sweep drape backdrop and have it right up to the top of the ceiling and asked him few times if he was able to do it or not and he said yes not a problem. Our consultation went well in terms of pricing as they were affordable and we signed a contract and put our deposit down. What went very wrong was on the day of our wedding he didn't do the backdrop that I asked him to do and I even provided a picture for him and he promised me that he was able to achieve it exactly like the photo. On the wedding day he didn't do the backdrop even close to what my picture looked (please see the pictures I uploaded). My wedding planner was Ellie from Laura events & Co who told me Rafi had scolded her when she asked him why the backdrop was not like the photo. She said he screamed to her her just let him do his job and while she went to look for me to inform me of this, he had left Casa Loma without me looking at the room. Another bad problem was the charger plates he provided were dirty with leftover pasta sauce and Casa Loma would not let him use it but he just insisted they were fine and in the end Casa Loma washed all of the charger plates free of charge for me just so the plates could still be used and protect their image as a venue. After my wedding, my Casa Loma coordinator Shastine has told me that they are considering to ban Babylon from ever setting up a event there because that was how destructive of a vendor Babylon was to Casa Loma. We also used them for our transportation. I booked two stretched limos and a vintage Rolls Royce and surprise on my wedding day a Bentley shows up. Everything that went wrong on my wedding day was due to Babylon. I don't know when Rolls Royce became Bentley. In retrospect the only one thing I regretted about my wedding was choosing Babylon as my decor vendor and I wished that I would have just spent a little more to get someone better, professional and respectful. Many couples look back at their wedding day and wished that they could have saved here and there or cut back on something that was that necessary but for myself looking back I really regret not hiring somebody else investing in a little more than going with Babylon just to save a little. They are so unprofessional and didn't care for us as their clients and at the end of the day they just took our money and did an half ass job. I highly recommend for anyone who considers them to stay away and I'm more than willing to provide the contacts and phone numbers of my wedding planner and coordinators of Casa Loma to confirm all that's been said. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced since planning my wedding! Unfortunately, I must give this business one star to write this review, but they are worthy of no stars at all. Today, my fiance, my wedding planner, and I had a 6:30 PM appointment for which we were on time. However, once it was our turn to sit down with the associate, she tells us that they have many appointments coming in and are behind. At the time, it was just my fiance, my planner and myself in the studio--no other clients/customers. The owner then shows up with another couple and sits down at a table nearby. My appointment is going smoothly at first, but as more and more clients show up for their appointment, the more agitated the owner becomes. He then comes over to the associate we are working with (she is working off of the ONLY computer in the studio), and he keeps telling her to get up. Finally, she says, "we're not done". Which we were not. She gets up. He sits down and says to us, "I need the computer. You have enough information. I need to help the other appointments now". Just like that. He doesn't even have the decency to see where we are with building our decor plan or try to humbly reschedule. Instead, we were met with coldness and aggression. All because he did not take the time to accurately plan out his appointments. My planner tells him that we are only halfway through, and we waited a month for this appointment. He did not care. He says again, "we are behind!" Now, if we've made an appointment, I do not understand what warranted him to practically throw us out. What I do know, though, is that professionalism, compassion and care for customers are lacking in this establishment. I would not recommend this company to anyone! BEWARE. Don't waste your time like we just did. Even if they changed their attitude, the overbooking and then rushed approach to their customers doesn't deserve a dime from your wallet. Just imagine what kind of service you will receive on your wedding day if this is the first impression. I am upset, and I am hurt, and I would hate for another unsuspecting couple to be treated this way. You've been warned. read more

I went just went there for passport and visa picture. IT IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. The pictures: Wrong size even though I kept telling him that it supposed to be 2 x2 in. My face was Not in the middle of the picture. He did not even cut the picture nicely. It was a total mess and there is no way such picture will be accepted by the government. When I went there to complain he yelled at me said that he knows his job and that was perfect job. He told me to look at my own face and see that the picture is much better than real life. Is that how you treat your customer when you all you do is just print it out and cut it nicely but still fail at your job? For $34 / 4 copies of the picture. I would have done a better job myself. If only there is a 0 or negative star. read more

I put a lot of money into the fireworks and they did not turn on only one worked on the left side of the dance door, it looks so silly. Also I did not get the flower bouquets that I requested even though I sent several pictures to them. read more

I don't want to give it one star but zero stars is not an option for Yelp! I recently got into yelping so I thought I would share my comments . Please please do not use them , I got married October 2011. They printed little ads for their business to put out on the tables during reception- which is fine BUT they had the wrong wedding date printed on it - so embarrassing , family had to go a dispose it . I moved to New York so there was a lot going on so when we finally looked at our video it was horrible - it would freeze and get stuck and when I called them they dismissed me saying they don't have the original footage . We paid $5000 cash which is a lot for nothing , horrible pictures nothing stood out, I'm mostly disappointed about the video - I will make sure I spread the word to make sure no one uses them unless they fix my video or compensate me for it!!!! read more

I would like to start off by saying going with Rafi at Babylon was most definitely one of the best decisions I have made in regards to our wedding. He went above and beyond his call of duty! I was pleased with every aspect of his work. We did all our decor, our limo bus and late night limo pick up, photo booth, flowers, centre pieces linens and more....everything was amazing! Rafi was extremely accommodating, not to mention his prices were very reasonable! We were pleased with all of their great work, and would recommend Babylon to anyone getting married! My mother booked wedding photography, video and limo service from this family owned business. Here's the short form of my experience with them: -They shot nice photos, literally hundreds of them, but they held on to the good ones and gave use the 200 which were part of our package and consisted of duplicates and triplicates of terrible photos in black and white,sepia, etc. This forced us to buy the whole CD with all of the nice pictures which cost an extra $300. REALLY cheap tactic - which I'm told now is common-place in this industry. -The video took 6 months for them to finish, and was TERRIBLE. They literally just put a few transitions in and gave us all the raw footage. Also they kept saying they mailed the DVD, then it would never come. -During the reception, the videographer was rude to some of the guests and the wedding coordinators and kept demanding a table, chairs and food be arranged for him and the photographer right way while our guests were being looked after - missing great photo opportunities. -Hygiene: None. They wreaked of B.O. and their "office" is a little hole in the wall where their bathroom has a laundry basin for a sink and napkins (probably from fast food restaurants) for toilet paper. Also, there were tooth brushes on the laundry basin/sink. Just gross and mouldy smelling too. -Good limo service. On time, and didn't say much. -They wanted everything paid in cash.... Basically avoid these people unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars extra and feel like you've been ripped off. I have been waiting for the contract since I first got a quote over the phone two weeks ago and said my clients would like to sign and pay immediately. I called many times, left multiple voicemails (a couple of times their voicemail box was full), and sent 2-3 emails in this time period. Just a few days ago, I finally got through by phone with one of their representatives. I asked again and said my clients are ready to sign and pay, and was told she was walking into the office and was going to check her emails as soon as she stepped into the office and reply to mine so we can do so. But I didn't get a response. Today (over two weeks after my initial contact saying we would like to pay), I got an email saying the car we wanted is booked. This is unacceptable and very poor customer service. It should not take over two weeks to secure a booking when the client just wants to sign and pay, with the client chasing after the vendor for a contract, only for the vendor to tell the client that the service is booked by someone else. Their unprofessionalism did not allow us to make a deposit to hold the date when I've tried to be in contact with the company for two weeks and was told that the phantom was available even just a few days ago when we had last spoken through phone. This is now the second time I've had such issues with their company and will not be recommending their services due to very poor customer service and communication. read more

I had an ok experience with them for the most part...the decor was what I asked for and considering it was last minute (my decor choice had fallen through) I was grateful that they were able to accommodate me). Although, the backdrop was slightly different - considering I showed him a picture of exactly what I wanted. With that said...they REALLY need to work on their customer service skills, which are basically non-existent. Farrah was nice when we met with her but seemed overwhelmed and it kind of made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by being there. Rafi was very short with us and kept brushing off everything I was saying, it was actually infuriating...we went in to meet with him to finalize our details and were kept waiting for at least an hour. Finally, it was our turn, and he was rushing us to deal with the next people waiting. We had booked the "backdrop package" and he would ask about what tablecloth (for instance) we wanted...we'd ask what he had available, what he recommended, etc. and every answer would be "whatever you want" with an unimpressed shrug followed by: "ok, next?" like I was placing an order at Tim Horton's instead of paying thousands of dollars. He just wanted to be done and I left still unsure of what details we even selected or how the final product would look because my head was spinning from that conversation. He accepted the deposit through email transfer but said he'd have to charge me extra if I pay the balance that way so the balance had to be in cash. The reason for this negative review: The company has ignored my simple requests, I am tired of being yelled at by Farrah, when I set up the appt no one was there told to wait, I waited almost 1 hour. I was told their professional photographers, when in fact they sub contract out... Their invoicing has no dating, no clear H.S.T number or amount collecting FOR H.S.T they refuse to honor their advertised pricing and tried to over charge. Yelling at customers, telling them once you change something " Because of you I will be loosing bussines? I have had enough of their rudeness... so I fired them! I have since hired professionals they do not return emails and refuse to refund deposit be careful dealing with this company! read more

This has been by far the worse experience I have ever had dealing with a limo company that proclaims to be professional! If I could give negative stars I would! After making it very clear that we need to have the limo bus we had ordered to be on time and after many reassurances from the lady saying they are always 10 minutes early, they were late by 30 minutes!! Not only were they late by 30 minutes picking up my husband, that of course took a domino affect through out the day. They were now 30 minutes late picking up me and my bridesmaids and to our surprise we find out the driver had time to make a pit stop along the way to have a smoke break. I know this because my brother saw him parked around the corner on his way to the church. My husband and I didn't even receive so much as an apology. I'm very disgusted in the service. We booked 2 limos from this company for our wedding. 1 limo dropped off the groomsmen and the 2nd was booked for 5 hours to drive the bridesmaids and the bridal party after the ceremony for photos. Booking with them was fairly straightforward and we saw no red flags prior to the event. The day of the wedding, the company mixed up the two limos. The limo that was supposed to be with us for the whole day did not show up after the ceremony - where all of our stuff was (including bridal make-up, photo shoot permit, personal belongings). Our planner spent a lot of time tracking down the limo so we could get our stuff back, and we were told that the representatives were very rude to her. A limo did show up to take us to our photo shoot after the ceremony, dropped us off and took off without warning - leaving us stranded! Custom made straps for my wedding dress were inside the limo and have not been returned to me despite repeated attempts to contact the company. Really upset that my personal belongings are missing because of this company and no effort has been made to return it to me. We were stranded at our photo shoot location with no transportation to our venue - even though we had the limo booked for 5 hours (to be at our beck and call). We were an hour behind schedule because of this mistake and were not able to take family photos prior to reception. I understand that mistakes happen but this company has done nothing to resolve our issues the day of the wedding of thereafter. My straps have not been returned to me, no apology has been issued and, of course, no form of compensation or refund will happen. We have tried to contact the company four times and have not heard back at all - however communication was quite regular and prompt when we were booking them. I would stay away from this company. Oct 24 2015 we felt we pick a good company who provided many services was going to be a good choice by having flowers, transportation , cake and music it was not Our day started by getting the flowers our bridesmaids flowers had match to the photos we provided but my brides did not not even close to the colour we pick on top of that her flowers started dying and turning brown in within the first two hrs .My photographer in all his Yrs never saw such cheap flowers on top of that her bridesmaid lasted 2 weeks . This made her flowers look awful in the photos even at the church were dying .Second problem the limo driver came we had a limo bus we board it and it was boiling hot inside we ask to shut it off and the driver did not know how so by the time we got to the church my wife makeup was destroyed.The final straw was when we arrive at the hall .My wife once again had redo her makeup so I went to see the cake , now again I gave a photo on the cake we wanted and style and colour what did I see was a cake that was 100% different .So I gave the Babylon owner Rafi a called .how did he response by saying that my cake that what I order ,I told him no it's not!! ,he respond by saying I made changes to the cake , no I didn't we only dealt with you , he continue to say that I did , I told him I take a photo of this cake and sent you the photo I gave you of the cake we were to get , he still said it was the cake, so after arguing for a hour he say he" ll fix ,took a hr to come and all they did was put purple ribbon on it. This cake not only was wrong but so ugly and on top of that it wasn't even the flavour we order I order strawberry shortcake I got vanilla , and taste awful where none of my guest ate it it taste like a week old cake,that we just threw the whole 500 dollars.my wife day was ruined that she cry at the hall. What a horrible company. I paid in full and on the day of my wedding they brought me a old rusty leaking sunroof Ford excursion. The driver wasn't even in front of the church when we came out he didn't open our doors and no umbrella. To top it all off there was garbage bags in the trunk of the limo. I had to fight to get half my money back. It was embarrassing to have to sit in an old limo on your wedding day. Never again. read more
