Heard so much good bout this place, and being that I pass by here every day I'm surprised today was my first visit. Service was very friendly. The place had a home feel to it. Not the typical restaurant layout/feel... and that's not a bad thing. Matter of fact, I liked it. Had family owned and run written all over it, so that's definitely a plus! Food was very good. What an odd, but friendly, little place this is. It's just a café. The tables with worn plastic covers over the cloths; the tired, laminated menus, the vinyl floor and everything else in this shop reeks of back streets café. But it is very friendly, the service is good, the drinks menu is non-existent (but you can have a coke or a cold tea) and the food menu is excellent. We went in for lunch, sat down and ordered classic Mediterranean food. I had a sort of 'lamb-burger' wrap with the world's best French fries, and my wife had fried egg plant It was all very nice and it was cheap. Don't dress up and go there for a special date night. It's not that sort of place. But as a café which serves good tucker at a low price in Johnson City, Babylon has it aced. read more

Wanted to try something different, and I can't believe just how good this place is. The lamb shank was perfect (flavorful and falling off the bone), and the hummus was unbelievable. Fantastic place to eat. I have ate there for lunch multiple times. I have had their baba ganoush and hummus appetizers, Falafel, Sharma and chicken tikka sandwiches. All of which are fantastic! They have very quick service and a clean and quiet atmosphere. I feel their price is very reasonable and quality is great. Portion size is just right and I never leave feeling hungry or over full. A quiet location of the main road. I ordered their Falafel sandwich with fries and the hummus as an appitizer. Let me start off by saying how friendly and inviting the gentleman who greeted us was. Who was also our server. Good start. The hummus portion was very generous with plenty of warm pita bread. Usually other places skimp out on that detail. Not this place. The falafel was very tasty and not dry. Which is a common problem with a falafel sandwich with a good portion of crispy fries. Very satisfying. An all around pleasant experience. All I can say is I'm blown away. I was driving down from a track meet back to my hotel and was looking for dinner options and this place popped up. My first impression of it was that it would be just another mediocre restaurant, but this place was awesome. The service was great, and they made sure all of my needs were met. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Wrap, and for eight dollars I got a well sized wrap and a full side of fries. Everything tasted delicious, and was priced extraordinarily. First time here today. Oh my gosh it was Sooo Good!!!! We tried a scharma and falafel sandwiches. Both were delicious! The scharma was so tender and seasoned well. The falafel was crispy, flavorful and delicious also. First time trying middle eastern food. We also got a order of hummus. It was delicious and creamy. Our sandwiches we got on pita bread. Found this place on yelp. It is a hidden gem. Decor is a little scary and run down when you walk in but is very clean. The food is amazing. I started with the tabouli which had crisp textures and popped with flavor. Followed that with the lamb kabobs. Kabobs, pita, Taziki, and rice were all excellent, cooked perfect and flavored well. This is the best middle eastern food I have experienced while traveling from Seattle, to Chicago, to New York City. You must get the hummus and the grape leaves. The grape leaves are only available on Fridays. The wraps are delicious too. The staff is very friendly. If you are in a hurry order carry out. You can sub hummus for fries too. read more

I've eaten here many times and I totally dig their vegetarian stews and every dish I've tried. Especially the falafel...its the best I've had anywhere. That being said, I just went there tonight and noticed that the humus is not up to the usual standard. Great establishment. Love the homie-ness offered by a family-owned restaurant that serves authentic food. We enjoyed the BYOB policy but be sure to ask the staff first. As a table we shared appetizers which is a great move. Load up on some hummus and warm pita bread. Additionally, we had eggplant salad and babaghanooj which were also very good. I've been here a couple times now and I keep returning for the lamb kabobs entree. The chicken Shish was outstanding and the lamb in the mixed kebab was tender and delicious. The beef was a little tough. This was some delicious food. We spilt a falafel wrap style sandwich with fries, plus an appetizer of hummus and warm pita. We also tried a Turkish coffee. All definitely worth it! Our server was very kind, attentive, and quick. We didn't have to wait long for anything, which was nice having a baby with us. The only complaint I have is that the atmosphere is a little lacking, but then again it's a no-frills spot, so I don't think they're aiming to be fancy, which is fine. We were lone dinner guests at about 6:15, but several others came in to eat or get pickup orders after we sat down. I would definitely eat here again. Very yummy food and pleasant service. read more
