My 2004 Mazda has been making some pretty bad metal on metal noise for a few weeks. Finally decided to get on yelp to check out places nearby and noticed the great reviews here. Went here due to the great reviews. Paid to have an oil and oil filter change a few months ago. Gave them an OEM filter and the oil I prefer to use. Went to change the oil today and saw the same old filter on my car. I know this is the old filter, I supplied an OEM filter to be put on the car (I had an aftermarket reusable filter on the car at the time). The same aftermarket filter was still on the car! Disappointed. Update: Owner replied to me and claimed I supplied the wrong filter and that a different aftermarket filter was placed on the car. WRONG! I know for a fact it is the old filter and the mechanic working on my car never mentioned having issues with the filter I gave to him. I bought the filter I gave to them DIRECTLY from a Subaru dealer. He also claims they don't accept parts from customers. So why did they accept the oil and oil filter I gave to them? Makes no sense, never coming back. I like small businesses but I'd advise other people not to come if they can't even do a simple oil change without scamming and lying. read more

I've experienced some issues with my Mini over the years and it has always seemed like other mechanics pile on additional services other than the reason I initially brought my car in for and catch me off guard on the the bill or the issue reoccurs in just a few days/weeks. This review is long over due! I apologize to Mo. this shop is the truth! Do not hesitate to bring your vehicle here. They are trustworthy and very fair priced. Let me start off by saying, I know my way around a car. I've had many engines professionally built from a 65 olds 442, RSX Acura to a 98 civic. So I know when I'm being shafted and this team really showed me that is not what they do! Let me start from the beginning. I took my Sequoia to another shop because it was making a slight noise and I didn't want to deal with it. 3 hours later I get a call that they need to rethread a cyclinder. Well, they ended up cracking my head and tried to act like it wasn't their fault. Said I need a new head gasket!? Crazy I took my car over to Mo because of the reviews. Told the team what happened and that I need a new head gasket ( not knowing that my head was cracked yet, we learned that later). The team said," no way, these engines don't break, maybe something else is going on here". So they did their investigation and determined it did need a head gasket, BUT it could have a possible head crack because of the other shop. I let them start the job, they offered for me to take the head in, I refused and said I don't have time. Well, the machine shop determined it was cracked (I verified through the machine shop). They did the job and for a great price! Because of there honesty and knowledge I will be taking all my cars to this shop. They work hard on keeping their reputation up because as a auto shop, that's all you have! These guys are great and I appreciate not just 1 person, but a team of people who work with high standards and integrity. Babylon Auto is truly as good as it gets. As a non-resident of California, I am aware of how pricey everything is in Santa Clara. It was reassuring to me that Babylon gave me a fair price for their services. I recommend this place to Santa Clara University students. The location was great for me because it was a short walking distance from SCU and my house. I went to classes while my car was serviced. I contacted Babylon via email on their website yesterday at 4pm after my check engine light and maintenance required light came on. In an hour, I quickly got a call back from them. They scheduled me for the next morning at 10 am and told me they'd diagnose my car. On the next day, they quickly diagnosed my car and gave me a fair price estimate immediately and told me that I could get pick up my car in a few hours. He said he could've gotten my car out earlier but I was busy at the earlier times he offered. When he was finished with my car, he gave me a brief run-down on what he fixed and what I should do with my car in the future so I would have fewer problems (e.g. date for an oil change, report any small abnormalities). My visit was the polar opposite of what I originally thought would be a huge inconvenience time-wise and money-wise to fix my car. Overall the mechanic was honest and knowledgeable. My experience with this shop was very traumatizing, My car arrived in a tow truck and left in a tow truck! I was told this morning that my car was ready and that it was running. And an hour later I got a call and I was told that my car was not drivable and that my reverse gear was not working properly. I was also told that I was being charged $150.00 for transmission oil and my bill was $280.00 because they said I needed this and that and I agreed to purchase what it needed but when they they told me that it's not drivable, It made me feel like they just made money on a car that is not drivable!! WARNING SYAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! I took my car in for transmission oil and filter change. They claim the car I have has no filter and had the gall to charge me $180 to just chsnge the fluid. When I brought it to there attention I was still having problems and that the car DID IN FACT HAVE A EASY TO REACH TRANSMISSION FILTER they told me it didn't and told me I must rebuild the transmission (only 79k milage on car). The price they wanted was $1600. I came home and proved the car DOES have a acceable filter. You just need to get the filter kit and 30 minutes and its done. Just because I am a female I guess I am stupid. I have been working on cars since I was 10. Even raced cars for a while. Because of spinal damage I can no longer work on cars or I would do it myself.
