Had a very relaxing quiet morning at this beautiful beach. I highly recommend visiting here. The water was perfect!

Nice small or no real waves, perfect for smaller kids and adults who want a relaxing beach experience. We saw lots of turtles here too. A small parking area but overall lots if families just enjoying being together at a calm beach. Note: there is not too much shade to definitely pre-sunscreen and reapply often and don't stay too long!

Great beach for snorkeling with the littles. Directions on Yelp suck though. Use Google! A mix of families and homeless folks. Watch your six and be aware of your surroundings, but nothing made us feel uncomfortable (outside of the high amounts of unleashed dogs).

Super calm, great for folks that don't want to deal with waves.

If you have anyone that is unsure of the water this is a great beach that they can test out their ability. It is much safer than many other beaches. This is one of the busier beach for this reason. There are a lot of children. Unfortunately this beach does not have a shower close by. It is a great experience since it is a beach on Maui. If you have kids you will probably love it. If not there are many other beach to check out.

The Baby Beach is mostly visited by local families, and it is narrow and the sand varies from grey at the north end to very minimal beach. The beach is protected by an exposed stretch of reef, creating a calm shallow area where people unlikely be knocked down by a big wave. There is a chance you can see turtles swimming in the morning til early afternoon, please respect the rule to keep distance from them and do not touch them.

Amazing beach that I keep returning to every time I'm in Maui. Great for snorkeling, scuba diving, sunbathing, and relaxing. Spent several hours napping and enjoying the scenery. Parking is free and there are bathroom facilities close by. There are some sea urchins, so beware when you're snorkeling. Water was lukewarm so it was enjoyable to wade in the waters.

Love love love this beach. Why? Because Im not a great swimmer, and beginning snorkeler. The ocean at baby beach is so shallow you can just walk right into it and snorkel. Unless you go far out the water is about 3 to 4 feet deep. Even though the water is much shallower than most snorkel areas on the island you won't miss out on seeing the beautiful local fish, coral, and sea turtles! There is a homeless camp near the beach, but they are just friendly people down on their luck, so please be kind.

Mala Wharf aka Baby Beach is perfect for snorkeling and a chance to see the sea turtles. We really liked this beach aside from all of the homeless people living in tents and the smell of urine, you can move towards the left of the wharf to avoid that. We really enjoyed this beach and spent hours here to watch the sunset and snorkel. It was so much fun seeing sea turtles, snorkeling and enjoying the day. Pack up the beach chairs, umbrella and snorkel rentals from Snorkel Bob's (my recommendation) for a day filled with low tide and fun with the family. Although it's located right next to a cemetery, this stretch of white sand in close proximity to Lahaina's Front Street (next to Feast of Lele) is one of the best beaches on Maui for families. Highly recommend it!

I was happy that I was able to find a parking spot so close to the beach because this place was packed! There is a nice row of trees that produce some nice shade and green grass to sit on. Aside from the massive amount of people this is a great spot to enjoy your day.

Nice beach, but the water has a lot of rocks and a ton of coral. I did enjoy the calm water, and as many have said it is ideal for snorkeling close to shore. You will not see a ton of fish, but there are small ones in the water. What I enjoyed most about this beach were the views. From that vantage point, you can see Moloka'i, Lanai, and Kaho'olawe, islands in all directions! The beach abuts private property so it was quiet and felt like I was on a private beach. Speaking of, private, parking is minimal in the area. Street parking can be found but mind the signs and private roads.

Little crowds, very little parking-best to come early to park on the roads, very little shade so bring a tent/beach umbrella, show walk to the beach, water is clear/clean and shallow, no waves (only by far), recommend for family and friends. No restroom. Sky is clear and sunny. Great way to cool off and enjoy the vitamin D on your skin.

This was a really pretty beach and easily could have been a five star if parking was better and it wasn't so shallow. It was great for my kids to wade in, which was what we were looking for, but snorkeling is so hard here because of the rock and coral. It's beautiful, but I felt terrible trying to snorkel so I didn't for long. It was really rough the day we went too so I think that could have played a part in it as well. It was windy and just impossible to not have sand blowing in your face. we got a few hours of play and saw a bunch of turtles swimming in the morning. The only other complaint I have is that close to the pier there is a big homeless area. It just looks terrible and I was concerned with what my kids might have found or saw. From that area where you can find additional parking it's a long walk to the other side of the beach where you could avoid that.

Originally we…read morewere supposed to stay in Lahaina, but because of the rebuilding of the area, we stayed a little further south. I wish I did stay in the area because the whole area is a vibe. It's a little more touristy with resorts and shopping areas, but once you get on the beach you forget all that. Some of our group was already here and gave us specific instructions on where to park. We parked in a paid parking garage and had to walk between hotels to find the entrance to the beach. This particular stretch is in front of the Sheraton Maui Resort. This beach was awesome! Don't get confused like I did and think this was a black sand beach. Black Rock refers to the giant black lava rock going from the beach into the ocean. It's a very popular cliff diving area. In my opinion, you got to have some athletic ability to do the cliff diving. There's two ways to get to the peak of the rock to jump. There's a path from the shore, but you have to do a little climbing with a very sketch path to the top. The other option is to swim in the ocean towards the end of the rock where you have a little ladder to get you up, but you still have to get to the top of the rock. My friends and I decided to do the swim out which in itself was a challenge. One I got close, I decided to be the photographer in the water for when my friends jumped. We hung out in the water for awhile before swimming back to shore. The beach is perfect for lounging around, with soft white sand and crystal clear water. I brought my snorkel and goggles to really appreciate what's under the sea. We stayed out here way longer than we planned because time flies when you are having fun. On my next trip to Maui, I would totally consider staying right on this beach. I will most definitely be back!

So, my review is from a bit of a different perspective. Located on the South End of Ka'anapali Beach by Hyatt Regency, we pulled into the parking lot and found that it offers a lot more amenities than many other beaches like public bathrooms, shower station, covered picnic tables, bbq grills, an expansive manicured lawn, and a lifeguard tower (you'll find these few and far between, especially in West Maui). This beach is also home to a canoe club and plays host to many of the canoe/paddling competitions, hence the nickname Canoe Beach. As a spot for photography and family photos, it actually worked surprisingly well! Christmas photos at the beach? Yeah, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I put full trust in our photographer and she was able to use all the different elements and even had props of her own (check my profile photo). From the lifeguard tower, to the plants that surrounded it, and the rocks below it each offered a different feel. Once golden hour hit, it was the perfect lighting. I just really loved how our photos turned out and would recommend this spot for your next family photo session! We didn't get in the water to swim, but it looked like a pretty good spot to do so especially if there's lifeguards on duty. Really sandy with not too many rocks and plenty of shade.
