It was their second bankruptcy filing in less than two years. So today's visit to Gymboree seems destined to be our last visit to Gymboree. There are deep savings on every shelf and rack all over the store. We bought a big bag of outfits for our two grandchildren and the pricing was amazing. Everything was marked down 60 or 70%. We bought fourteen clothing items that cost us $106 -and the register slip said we saved $199.93. Not sure how long they will be opened -better get in while the getting is good, because "everything must go".

They have a lot of handmade items from local artists and designers. They also have a large selection of cloth diapers and several different baby carriers that you can't find in many places (wrapsody, babyhawk, etc.). It is extremely expensive. But the items are of extremely high quality and are made (and sold) with love. God, that sounds cheesy. There's also a semi-private nursing area with a couch and water for moms. The bathroom has a really cool changing table so you don't have to feel all awkward changing your kid on the floor or on one of those hard, cold pull-down tables. The owners are a mother and daughter, the latter of whom is also a Certified Lactation Consultant and holds private sessions in a separate room. The two women are a dynamic team, and are obviously very fond of serving the Poughkeepsie community with their unique store.

The meeting was held in the classroom at the bundle store. At the meeting I met Amber, owner of the bundle store, and a Slingbabies leader. She was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about baby wearing. She gave me all the help I needed. After the meeting I poked around looking at the store. As a new mom, it was so fun just to look at everything she has there. Organic toys, clothing. Beautiful baby carriers, slings, and wraps. A cloth diapering section. Lots of items clearly handmade by independent vendors. Beautiful muslin receiving blankets. Natural remedies for diaper rash and teething, nipple creams. If I had a million dollars I'd by 3 of almost everything at this store. Now, the bundle store is all about quality, and often that means the prices are steeper, but you can tell you're getting really special stuff there! The staff is all knowledgeable about breastfeeding and baby wearing. They want to be part of a new mom's support system. The store offers classes- I took the musical baby class but there are lots to choose from, many of them focused on educating moms, but also prenatal yoga and fun stuff too. My music class was a blast! Amber, the store owner, knows everything about baby wearing and she really wants to help others learn about this awesomely helpful practice. I had a friend from out of state contact her when she needed advice about what carrier might be right for a specific need. Amber recommended a carrier that her store doesn't have in stock! She has an online store and could have easily recommended a carrier she could have sold, but she wanted to recommend what was best for my friend even if it meant she wasn't going to profit. Amber also does fittings for her nursing bras she sells there (and maternity clothes). My best nursing bra is from The Bundle Store. So in a nutshell- every mom within the capital district could benefit from a relationship with this store. We had quite a few questions about cribs and were given great demos by the staff. While browsing we saw a Chicco brand highchair which goes for about $179 and picked it up for $79. A high quality chair at a very reasonable price. The store is very small as they do almost all their business on the web. However they do have a very nice selection of strollers, many brands that you cannot find at those chain stores. They also carry a nice amount of cribs, car seats, and other odds and ends. She gave me one piece of tissue paper. Poor selection and rude service from a lazy salesperson. I will not be going back.

They coin themselves they are West Hartford's finest children's consignment shop. The pricing was fair for most items (toys, decor, etc), but clothing seemed a bit high. They do have a rewards/loyalty program which I signed up for--I got 10% off my first purchase AND $5 off. Also, if you are local or close by they have 10% off Tuesdays. The young ladies that rang us up were very nice. I'd likely visit again since the shop is very clean. A lot of second hand children shops are cluttered, disorganized, and have a strange smell. I found some nice items, an L.L. Bean fleece and Lands End jacket, both for $3 a piece for my little guy. There were lots of winter clothes AND spring clothes, which I fully appreciated after going to another store that was already selling only shorts (yes, it is March, but we had a foot of snow last week!). They also had a large variety of baby gear: strollers, co-sleepers, bouncy chairs, etc. I will definitely make the trip to Brattleboro again for this place. Loved it!
