I had been wanting to try KC Doner for awhile. I once had a Doner sandwich at a festival but due to…read morebeing in a festival state of mind, I didn't really know what it was and couldn't really remember if I liked it. Plus, it was dark so I couldn't see it. A new experience with the Doner needed to be had. They are located right inside of the Lenexa Food Hall. You order via kiosk and they text you when it's ready. My order was out super fast and it was accurate. I ordered the KC Döner Style Wrap: a blend of beef & lamb, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, sumac, and parsley, all wrapped in a tortilla and finished with house-made garlic yogurt sauce inside. OMG! It blew my expectations out of the water. I could've eaten 20 of these. It was so good. The meat was tender and flavorful. The tortilla was light but held everything together perfectly. And the garlic sauce was delicious. Highly recommend! I also added on 3 dolmas: grape leaves stuffed with rice. They were tasty but the wrap was above and beyond my favorite. I'll definitely return!

Start your meal with döner - the German-style döner and the house-made garlic yogurt sauce are so good. Then, if you have room for dessert, get the cream-filled pistachio baklava - I find that the cream subtly enhances the baklava. Finally, end your meal with a cup of Turkish coffee - the way the coffee is made by being heated over hot sand plus its strong and fragrant aroma make it so special. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the family that runs KC Döner is so nice. I will definitely be back.

Ok I found my favorite KC restaurant. Btw, the owner likes to sit up front and he informed us that…read moretheir online reservation system only allows them to book 60% of the restaurant, so 99% of the time, they can accommodate for walk ins every night. Good to know because we've been trying to get in here since they opened. Their menu online is not the same menu in person. I was a little concerned looking at the online menu, thinking it was a bit odd--a ton of dips and barely any entrees or foods with sustenance, but were so happy to see their full menu. We got their dip platter, kabob platter, and their short rib special. Everything, I mean, everything was fresh, delicious, and I loved the smoke flavor on the meats. Everything is cooked to order and on an open flame and the flavors.... THE FLAVORS. Can't wait to come back.

The food presentation was gorgeous, with fun and eccentric plating, and the decor throughout the building really makes you feel transported somewhere else. The menu also offers a great variety of appetizers that would work well for both small and large groups. Unfortunately, even with reservations, we still had to wait to be seated. The portions were on the smaller side, and some of the flavors felt a little off. The standout dish for me was the soup
