We were VERY pleased with all aspects of our room, including the price. This was much less expensive than the other Door County resorts and hotels. Everything was clean, in excellent condition, and all staff we encountered were friendly. We'd definitely go back. The only thing we weren't crazy about was that is was out in the middle of nowhere. It was a very peaceful setting, off the beaten path. But if you plan on going to all the Door County towns, be sure to take everything you'll need for the day out because this isn't a place you can just go back to half way through your day. Although we didn't have a boat, their marina was impressive and this would be a perfect resort for bringing your boat, then boating from town to town up the peninsula. Seeing the ad coincided nicely with a planned Door County wedding anniversary day trip for my wife and I. It seems every time we visit Door County we are always traveling the west side of the peninsula. Mr. G's is on the east side and right on Hwy 57. This worked nicely in forcing us to drive south from Sister Bay with a focus on hitting Mr. G's. This place is definitely an old school Wisconsin supper club. Pretty certain the building hasn't had a full remodel in years and why would you when you have that classic look going on. Retro is coming back. So what makes a supper club. Sitting at the bar having an old fashioned or two. A cheese & cracker tray and in this case chips/salsa as well. A pre meal salad bar of course is a must for a true supper club. For our entrees we went with the full rack of ribs and the ribeye. My wifes steak was prepared just as ordered and had a hint of buttery goodness with each bite. They boast award winning ribs. They were fall off the bone tender with excellent flavor. The ribs come with two sauce choices (cherry flavor & original). I went with the classic and was pleased with the spice. My wife also ordered her entree with the potato pancakes which is not something always offered as an option. Our waitress Jean was attentive throughout and offered excellent input on the history of the restaurant and what to order. We had an excellent experience and may have to consider visiting the east side of the peninsula more often.

Upon arrival we could see that the hostess or floor manager I am not sure which position she held was a little snappy and a little under pressure which of course is not the best way to start dinner. Upon sitting down after about a 20 minute wait we opened up our napkins and noticed that there was a hair and some dried or crusty food on a few of our napkins. The salt shakers look like they haven't been replaced since the creation of the facility however if I digress the food was very good and after being seated we waited for about 15 to 20 minutes before a server came to us but she was phenomenal once she took our table. We would try them again but I hope from a hygiene perspective they take a little bit more pride in cleaning the utensils and amenities throughout the restaurant

You can rent unique, furnished apartments at The Haven right along Lake Michigan. The Haven is in walking distance to some of Algoma's great food and drink such as Skaliwags, Von Stiehl winery, and Ahnapee brewing. We stayed only one night in the two bedroom suite. It was fully furnished, including amenities and a fully equipped kitchen! We absolutely loved the decor and loved staying there. Sara was a wonderful host. We hope to return soon. PS - pet friendly!

I enjoyed sitting on the balcony having my morning coffee while enjoying the lake view. It had a nice living room, and the bedroom had a comfortable bed. I couldn't have been happier. Our room had everything we needed: a kitchen with all included dishware, paper towels, coffee filters, etc., a nice updated shower with good water pressure, a fold out couch/sofabed (which we used, so it was definitely a necessity!), flat screen smart TVs with all the hookups for your apple TV etc if you choose to bring it (this is a must for us in the evenings since we like to watch our shows and chill out before bed) and a balcony with table & chairs to sit outside and enjoy the view. Our room was a bit humid - since we had the wall unit A/C and a fan in the main bedroom it never fully cooled down to where we would have liked it, but it was tolerable (we were out and about so much during our time in Door County, so we really weren't at the resort too much except to sleep!). I maybe heard a small amount of hall noise here and there but very rare (we were on the third floor). I never heard any of our neighboring units, so that was a big plus. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. We used the washer/dryer and ice machine, as well as took advantage of the free coffee (delicious!). We also needed to print a couple of documents and were able to do that on a computer near the front desk on the second floor. We did not use the pool facilities, but both the indoor and outdoor pool looked very clean and many people were using both daily. The housekeeping is a bit unique in that can specify if you would like someone to enter your suite to clean/empty trash, replace towels, etc. or if you would just like replacement items (if this is the case you can fill out a dry erase form and place it outside your suite).

The breakfasts were delicious and delivered to our door in a picnic basket! The space was so tastefully decorated and clean and welcoming. I really could cry- there was no room for improvement. Honest Review We…read morestayed for a week at the Evergreen cabin for our honeymoon, first time in door county. First the positives: neighborhood dog Bruno is so sweet and well behaved. The afternoon cookies were delicious and the decor of the cabin was lovely. The cons: Upon our arrival promptly around check in at 3pm it was 84 degrees in the cabin because the air conditioning was not turned on. Took several hours to cool down in the middle of July. The smell of moth balls was a bit overpowering. We were shocked to find the entire downstairs locked (4 doors total). We paid $2700 to rent a cabin for the week. Upon check in we received a note from the owners that for an additional $1500 they would open the remaining rooms downstairs. Our only open door inside was our room and bathroom upstairs. We had to go upstairs to use the only restroom. No typical comforts to be found- blankets for cold evenings to be found in the cabin, robes. The whirl tub went off twice in the middle of the night, 2 hours after turning off in the bedroom. Halfway through the week we ran out of toilet paper from the two roles of low ply they provided. When we asked about their adorable neighborhood dog they sent a lovely message back right away. When we asked for more toilet paper, radio silence, never responded. We went and bought our own for the remaining trip. Not the honeymoon experience we hoped for.
