Tried my first Babka in NOLA and had to find one as soon as I got back home in Austin. Luckily I found one that looked absolutely yummy and available at the Bell Farmers Market! It was sprinkling and I was at work, so of course I needed a sweet treat. My boyfriend went and found the booth immediately and bought a big loaf. We warmed it up and we both enjoyed it. The best babka you will ever have. Cook it Erica told me it was better than NYC babka. I'm from NYC, I love babka, I didn't believe her, but she was right. This is now my go to. Friendly service. They ship off their website. You must try this once. And definitely put them in the oven for a few minutes because if they aren't warm you are missing out on a truly heavenly experience. My aunt just turned 83 within the past week or so. She lives in NY where she was born and raised, and where she has access to the most diverse and exceptional eateries and bakeries in the US. I'm a Babka lover and would buy it online from a bakery on the East Coast. I looked online to see if someone local in Austin is finally Babka that I would love. Found this Babka baker on social media and items are sold at the Farmer Markets I go to. As soon as I arrived to the destination, I saw the pop up tent right away and headed that way. They had samples to try and it tasted fine. I decided to buy the mini loaves - Dark Chocolate and Cinnamon (2 loaves comes in a package) and Cinnamon and Pecan. I won't be ordering from the East Coast anymore. The Dark Chocolate and Butter Pecan is my favorite. I popped them in the microwave for 30 seconds and it was so soft and tasty. It's not too sweet and it's soft. It's great for breakfast or a snack. If you haven't had Babka and love bread, you need to get some. She is at Georgetown and Lakeline Farmer's Market and you can find them at Central Market I heard. I can't wait till Saturday to get me a regular loaf. read more

Dude. Yes. Super soft, super moist, all around wonderful. I got the mini dark chocolate babka. Sorry for the half-eaten picture, I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so good but as soon as I tasted it I had to review it. They sell them at Rosen's Bagels and I ordered it as part of my delivery so that means it wasn't even a fresh one and it was still amazing- nothing stale or hard, just soft chewy gooey deliciousness. Also, the chocolate was high quality and tasty. I actually ordered cinnamon and they brought me chocolate by accident but I don't even care, I'm just excited to try the cinnamon one ASAP! My daughter had surgery in October and was home recovering. The one thing she wanted was Chocolate Babka...I went to a couple of places but NADA! SLICE, no wait, LOAF. OF. HEAVEN. Just got my first babka from Sariel's booth at Lakeline Farmers Market on OH MY GOODNESS. I only tried the cinnamon loaf but it is soft and delightfully gooey after just 10sec in the microwave. Paired it with a good cup of coffee and I'm just feeling so good right now. I tried the sample at Lakeline farmers market and immediately bought two small babkas Dark choclate and butter pecan....both were absolutely fantastic...i wish i bought the entire loaf....i will be definitely ordering more in the coming days....its a little bit expensive but thats a good thing and it will keep me in check so i am not eating every week ...cannot wait to try the nutella one read more

Wow. We saw a post on nextdoor for a new babka place the week before Hanukkah. Turned out to be a couple blocks away from us so trying it out was a no brainer. Becoming return customers will be the same!! I'm a five year long transplanted Austinite formerly equal parts New Yorker & Chicagoan, so I know Babka. This is the real deal. We got the sampler and figured if it was good we'd give some away as gifts. Ummm-no; mine! I was trying to think of which flavor was my favorite but I truly can't decide. They all have equally awesome qualities. The chocolate ones are rich and dessert-like. The pecan and cinnamon are perfectly sweet but not too sweet, like a bready coffee cake or cinnamon bun... but maybe with a bit of flaky crust on the top. The layers are moist and super fun to peel apart - felt like a kid again bc NOM. They sorta defy description but I'm telling you, it's delicious. If you couldn't tell, I'm kinda drooling right now bc I can still taste the half a sesame/nutella mini- I just shared with my hub. LOL Seriously, so good.
