My only hesitancy in writing this review is that I don't want more people to come here! I feel like it's the locals' best kept secret. CLEAN. CLEAN. CLEAN! I cannot stress this enough! I am very particular about cleanliness, especially with manicurists, and John runs a tight ship. However, you'd never know it because he also creates an incredibly relaxing, casual and calm atmosphere. Everyone is super nice and professional and the "guard" dog, Ruby, is a beautiful lovey golden retriever who greets you with love at the door. It makes me sad that people who are undoubtedly crazy would ever leave anything less than 5 stars for this small business. In fact, I actually know of a woman who dipped out and didn't pay and then went home and wrote a nasty review. Nuts. And very unfair because businesses likes John's are the backbone of our country. If you aren't honest and don't support them you'll end up only having chain manicurists who dont care about you, cleanliness or your health at all. You truly cannot believe everything you read. This is one of the best nail salons around. Cici does a fantastic job with such precision - the pedicures are long with massages included and absolutely top-notch. The salon is clean and fresh. I hate going to nail salons and in the beginning they out good products on your nails and then you become a regular customer and they start using different powders or gels that draw you back in for a fill sooner and sooner. I have been coming to Babi Nails for at least 3 years now and always get the gel manicure and the Green Tea Spa Pedicure at the same time every time. My nails last over 3 weeks and the spa pedicures are amazing! The consistency here is the best - they always use the same product on you and I never had issues with chipping or breaking. Absolutely love this place. Everytime I come here, they've been nothing but consistent. They do my gel nails (lasted 3weeks! Others only last 2 and tend to get cracked after a while), regular manicures, pedicures and even my brows! Terrible untrained, rude, unprofessional staff. I dropped off my 16-year-old daughter to get a mani while I picked up some things in the drugstore next door. I go back after 20 minutes and learn that: A) she sat for 15 minutes being told to wait while two other walk ins came after were seated immediately. They were getting more expensive things done, of course. B) her manicure had been started by a man - when I came in it was a woman - and he had been in such a rush he CUT her. Not a tiny cut, a cut that WOULD NOT STOP BLEEDING and was dripping blood to the point where my daughter was a little freaked out. Meanwhile, they were attempting to continue the manicure! So I very firmly said, "No, look how badly she is bleeding. You can't put nail polish on that! Get us a bandage so we can leave." The woman apologized but the man didn't even acknowledge us. Of course we didn't pay, but really, I've been getting manicures for 25 years and never has anyone cut me like that. STAY AWAY. Awful. read more

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I walked in today (which is Mother's Day), no appointment - yes it was a little busy but I didn't have to wait. They were staffed well, everyone spoke English, they were polite and the gel mani and pedi I got were top notch. Environment wasn't noisy, quite the opposite; there wasn't even any background music playing, it was almost TOO quiet, lol. Only reason I took away one star is bc they don't really know how to do fun designs, like ombré polish or kooky patterns. But at least the tech was honest and said she couldn't do it instead of trying and failing just to get the extra $5. And she did a very nice job on my manicure. The pedicure was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. The most expensive nail place I have ever been to in NY, Queens and LI. $20 for my 10 year old. 2 pedicures $60 with tip, ridiculous. They don't even rub your shoulders when your drying your feet. The man that did my pedicure actually hurt my toe with the tool and then said nothing when I said ouch. He just stopped pushing the cuticle back on the rest of my feet. read more

So many salons to choose from in Glen Cove, I'd make this your last resort. The staff is ok, but my gel nails chipped after 2 days. They are way over priced, especially for such low quality services. The owner is awful - very rude and unprofessional. He told me my services would be one price, and when it came time to pay he had tacked on an additional $25. He yelled at me in front of everyone at the salon when I asked why it was $25 more than what he told me. I've never received such horrible customer service - when I told the owner that he said I wasn't a customer... Just not worth it, I will never go back! read more

Do not come here. I asked for acrylics i got them on monday 4 days later 2 nails came off. My nails are uneven and have dents in them, i said something more than once and the manger told me it was just my nails. I had a massage pedicure at this Babi location about a month ago that was great. Today I returned for a massage pedi/reg mani. It was horrible. The girl who did the manicure was ready to apply polish while the nails were hardly filed and crooked. When I corrected what I felt was needed, she started gossiping in Korean to the guy who was doing the pedi., yes, just like in Seinfeld! There are so many nail salons around here. I was disappointed here for sure. While the people working there were pleasant, it is very small. I waited 15 minutes for a manicure while the 4 people getting pedicures had 2 people working them each, presumably getting mani/pedis or massages at the same time. It was strange. It was more expensive than my usual place (by $2) and had a smaller selection of polish. No nail soak, no neck massage. The best thing about this salon is you never have to wait. Seems men do pedis women the manis. I find sometimes nails are weirdly shaped. The things I don't like are I always have to ask the men to go easy on the leg massage, sometimes it hurts! The other thing is it is very noisy! Tvs blaring. The other day a customer had the remote and was channel surfing, i was trying to read, I finally had to say something. Omg it was like trying to watch tv with my husband. She turned volume down but continued to change channels every five seconds. Also many cell phone people. Doesn't anyone want any time when they just close their eyes and relax. If you are considering this nail salon, I beg you to read my review. I went here on a Friday afternoon, last week I believe, and the places was EMPTY. This salon is surprisingly very large. They have over 15 manicure seats and at least 10 pedicure chairs. I stress that the place was empty. My friend and I wanted to get a spa pedicure and I wanted a gel manicure. Since the place was empty we thought we would be seated right away but they told us there was a wait. We were confused but we waited. Anyway, when I was escorted to the pedicure chair I couldn't believe how dirty it was. I wanted to run away but I just went with it. Then, the gentleman doing my manicure came over and he was SO rude. He acted like doing this pedicure was the last thing he ever wanted to do in his life. The woman doing my friend's pedicure had the same attitude. The man doing my nails didn't know how to do a pedicure. He didn't know how to use nail clippers, he didn't know how to file nails, he didn't know anything nor did he even try to pretend to know. It was the worst pedicure of my life. After I left there, I had to go to my regular nail salon for a pedicure. This place doesn't have a friendly staff and this place is not clean. Why anyone would want to come here is beyond me but don't say you weren't warned if you still decide to give them a try. read more

I came here with my bridesmaids the day before my wedding, and had a french gel manicure done, as well as a regular pedicure. I was overall dissatisfied with their service, esp. for the price. I felt like we were being rushed the whole time we were there, and that the ladies doing our nails were in a hurry. This led them to paint my nails unevenly, to the point where I asked her to re-do the white lines on two of my nails, as they were almost twice as thick on my left hand! Then, at the end of the manicure, I noticed the polish on my right hand was rough - when I asked her about it, it turns out she forgot a step! She was able to fix it, but overall, I was dissappointed with the service here, and will not be coming back. There are so many good places in the area, I'm surprised they still get business.
