Kingston B. is like a little neighborhood-market-meets-bread-bar energy. I came in for a bite and somehow left with more than I could chew. I went with the grilled cheese with white cheddar and ricotta pressed between their sourdough bread. Simple on paper, but the flavor was definitely on point. It's creamy, super cheesy, had a freaking terrific melt pull and the bread is crispy where it needed to be. I mean- that bread really brought the whole thing together. Or was it the combo of the cheeses? Definitely not your basic grilled cheese.

Everyone had the house salad with creamy parm house made dressing which was excellent. Wife and my 2 sons had the Danish baby back ribs with red potatoes and mixed vegetables which they all loved. One daughter in law had the rack of lamb cooked to perfection. The other soon to be daughter in law had the salmon with a hollandaise sauce which she enjoyed very much. My gran had the salmon in a garlic sauce which he cleaned off the plate. I had the seafood #1 which is sole,shrimp and scallops with red potatoes and vegetable which is always very good. The table shared 4 desserts, I don't remember what they were but everyone loved them. (I'm not abig dessert person). The restaurant is cozy, service is always very good. Prices could be a little lower but you do get consistent food quality and service. Yes, we will return.

I could tell the evening would be enjoyable--it just felt so perfect, so right! My bourbon Old Fashioned was one of the best I've ever had. My friend ordered a Montepulciano; one sip in, and he was glad. The waitstaff couldn't have been more pleasant, patient, or kind. In all the years I've lived here, I'd never been, so this was a rare find. The food and presentation were outstanding, from the pork shank to the broiled fish. Cooked to perfection over a wood fire, each meal was a very special dish. The portions are generous--I devoured every bite of my dinner. If you haven't been, give Millbrook Café a try. We were given our coffees right away and food arrived in around 15min. They didn't have milk or milk alternatives out on the counter, but offered to get some for us from the cooler if we wanted it. Someone came by and offered to refill our coffee. Then another person came by and grabbed the empty plates. Misto Eats--Cafe, Market, and Catering is located on S. Broadway, one of the two main streets (the other being Market) which cross to make up the center of Red Hook, NY.  There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant if you don't want to park on the street. You review the posted menu (also available online) and the board listing the day's specials, order, pay, grab a table on either side of the restaurant, and wait for your food to arrive. If you are looking for creative eats, Misto Eats is the place to find them. They also carry lots of pre-made meals (including soups and stews) and various meat and salad preparations along with some grocery items, freshly baked cookies and breads.  The venue itself is airy, bright and warm.  A beautiful place to sit, relax, talk and enjoy some freshly prepared food. Our food came out after a brief wait as everything is made to order.   My wife ordered from the day's specials--Grilled vegetables sandwich on home-made Naan featuring zucchini, cauliflower, oyster mushrooms, goat cheese, and Baba Ghanoush-Hummus.  The sandwich comes with the daily side which today was a delicious home-made potato salad with red onions, chopped fresh Italian parsley, very lightly dressed.  I ordered from the regular menu--"The Little Pickles Sandwich"--and there was nothing "little" or diminutive about it.  The sandwich  included crispy cod fritters on house-made Pão Frances with pickled serrano chili, pickled red onions, baby arugula, and MISTO aioli.  An amazing combination of flavors and while I've eaten many a cod fritter, cake or ball over the years (think pastéis de bacalhau in a Brazilian or Portuguese restaurant), these were among the tastiest I have ever enjoyed.  That they make their own Pão Frances (which were available for purchase in the bakery case as well) helped elevate the palate experience of this dish.  My sandwich also came with a scoop of that lovely potato salad. We really enjoyed our sandwiches, beverages, and the relaxing atmosphere at Misto Eats.  If there weren't so many other wonderful places to explore in the Hudson Valley for lunch and dinner, I would go back to Misto Eats tomorrow to try something else from their creative menu. They are open 11:30 am - 6 pm most days, closed on Mondays.  We will definitely be back in a few weeks for further exploration of the menu

But a google and claude search afterwards told me that watery cream cheese is not normal. Which is such a shame :(

The soup was a good portion and so delicious. I loved the kind of fried cheese they had in the middle. My only disappointment was the size of the scones (I wish they had been a bit bigger and less crumbly) but the flavor was not disappointing at all. Also ordered a Cornish Pasty to go for my other half, but I didn't taste it so I can't give it a review. Two ladies next to us had the Afternoon Tea option and it looked amazing! May have to go back to try that sometime.
