The classic potato and onion pierogies? Absolutely dialed in. Soft, flavorful, the kind of bite where you immediately nod your head like you just made a great decision in life. No notes. Just keep them coming. Stuffed cabbage came out next. Beef and chicken mix. Very good. Comfort food done right. That said, part of me wanted it to lean all beef. Just a little more punch, a little more depth. Still cleaned the plate, so take that for what it's worth. Potato pancakes were solid. Good flavor. Good portion. But if I'm being honest, I wanted just a touch more crisp and a touch less oil. Not a deal breaker, just one of those "this could be elite" moments. Then came the fork in the road. They were out of the sweet cherry pierogies. And this... this is where things took a turn. We pivoted to banana and chocolate. On paper, sounds like a win. In reality, the chocolate felt like it showed up late and didn't fully understand the assignment. Banana carried the team, but it wasn't the ending I had in mind. Somewhere out there, those cherry blintzes were calling my name and I ignored them. That's on me. And this is the part where you realize the comeback is already scheduled. Because here's the thing. You don't stumble into a place like this and only go once. Not when it's this unique. Not when the food hits like that. Not when you had unfinished business with dessert. Four stars. Easy call. We came to Baba Pierogies for lunch on a Saturday after hearing they offer gluten-free pierogies, which was such a great surprise for us since we prefer to eat gluten-free. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how beautifully decorated and welcoming the space felt. We chose to sit on the back patio, which was especially pleasant. Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh and homemade. I was born in Ukraine, and the flavors were very nostalgic for me. I was especially impressed with the gluten-free pierogies, as I honestly didn't think it was possible to achieve that kind of taste and texture without gluten. I was so excited to take my parents to this place. As lovers of pierogis and being of Ukrainian descent, this was a very special meal for us. The borscht was deep, hearty, and earthy (in a great way), and lovely with a dollop of sour cream. The pan fried pierogis - both savory and sweet - were everything that we could ask for. The dough was firm yet chewy, the savory fillings were well seasoned, and the sweet pierogis (especially the blueberry) rounded out the meal perfectly. The interior of the restaurant was gorgeous, very calming and reminiscent of nature. And the person at the counter was very helpful in choosing between all of the delicious options. Very cute place. Totally hidden away. If you don't know that you're going there and you don't have the address you will never just happen to come across it. Their food is good, but nothing amazing. I started with borscht. I ordered it cold, the way I prefer. It was fine, but nothing amazing. I've certainly had much better. It was filled with lots of shredded beets and a nice amount of potatoes. But pretty bland overall. Then I had their lunch special...4 potato and onion Pierogies, a kielbasa, and 2 pickle halves. The pierogis were tasty but unfortunately deep fried. I would definitely have preferred them sautéed. They came with some sautéed onions which were very good but they were really skimpy with them. The kielbasa wasn't bad but very over cooked. I'd say they have potential but they've open for quite a while now so I kind of think it is what it is. Not really sure I'll be back. read more

Love is the only word I can use to describe this restaurant. I miss my grandmother very badly. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and this restaurant really brought my grandmother back to life for me. From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the lovely servers and people working here this restaurant is a touch of charm that needs to be cherished. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It's not a very big restaurant, but even though it's small on the inside, it's large in heart and food. I started with a beautiful bowl of mushroom soup. It was warm and creamy and so satisfying. I probably could've ate another bowl but if I did I wouldn't have been able to eat my dinner. For dinner, I chose the potato and cheddar pierogies and an order of potato pancakes. Both were amazing. My pierogies were fluffy and just slightly al dente with a lovely creamy filling of potato and cheese, sautéed in lots of butter and onions. My potato pancakes were hot, really, really hot and crispy. A little salt and pepper on top and it brought me back to grandma's kitchen. This place is rightly named for Baba's kitchen is exactly what this is. They also offer breakfast and a plethora of desserts. None of which I was able to try because I was too full, but I will be back and I will be eating more. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. WOW - this was one of my favorite finds on our recent visit to Delray Beach! Baba Pierogies is tucked away in a bit of a back alley, but don't let the location fool you, the inside is incredibly cute and highly photogenic. The family running the shop were very friendly, and I loved seeing them cooking together in the kitchen. The potato pancakes and pierogies were both INCREDIBLE and presented beautifully. I can't tell you how much I have missed eating pierogies since going gluten-free, and after struggling to try and recreate my own family's recipe, these really satisfied my craving and made my happy. Baba's Pierogies was a mixed experience and maybe if I had dined in the restaurant rather than getting take out it would have been better. The food took a long time to prepare and perhaps they were short staffed but some of the food was warm while other items were cold. The stuffed cabbage was more of an appetizer serving and while it was good it lacked flavor and that can be because it was served with very little sauce. Also serving it cold didn't help. Blintzes with Potato's were nicely made and crepe like however the filling wasn't as good as the blintzes. The Salmon Potato Pancake Tower was the best item and these were excellent Potato Pancakes that had a good crisp and I would return just for this. The Kyiv Waffle Roll dessert seemed to only have chocolate on either end and was mostly hollow inside and this was would be just like eating a cylindrical fortune cookie. The Waffle with Dulce de Leche was not much better. Despite a somewhat disappointing experience I would return because the potential is there but the execution wasn't. read more

I hope they get a little more flexible with switching types of pierogis though. We wanted to order some extra potato ones, but could only get them if we ordered with the kielbasa in the Baba's Special. We got pierogis, gluten free pierogis, and gluten free potato pancakes. All of them were delicious, I can't believe how good the gf pierogis were. They're also safe for Celiac because they're prepared in a separate area of the kitchen - the reason why we stopped in. My wife has Celiac and she's Polish, so we didn't think she'd ever be able to have good pierogis ever again. She couldn't even tell that they were gf - and she's VERY tough to please with food. Terrible client service, I ordered gluten free pierogis online since just saw an ad on my Instagram and they were sold out, lady with terrible attitude called me (Jan 2 at 11/50 am) to let me know they are sold out, she did not take responsibility for refund or let me know what next steps of the refund are, neither did apologize.... Not the way to treat customers. She should be fired immediately. Edit: to your answer on Google Maps. OMG!!! Made me laugh. Listen to yourself, "we will not tolerate"? You are lucky and live in United States, not Ukraine anymore, here in order to stay in business you need to be nice to your customers and have a good service. You need to APOLOGIZE to your customers that you are not able to full fill the order if situation like this happens. Of course customer has a right to be not happy if spent time on placing the order online, just to be informed that you don't know how to turn off your ads online. The food is great. The vegetarian borscht was delicious, and the cheese and potato pirogies were fluffy, buttery, and flavorful. My favorite was the potato pancakes. Went for breakfast on Sunday morning. The restaurant is hidden from view on Congress but it's truly a hidden gem. Nicely appointed, reasonably priced. Everything is made fresh to order. I literally heard my potatoes being processed for my potato pancakes which were the best I've ever had. My friend had an omelette which she also enjoyed. Coffee is served in nice China cups. Coffee is fresh ground, unfortunately they can only make one cup at a time so it doesn't come quick but it's definitely worth the wait. Had a custard torte that was rich and delicious. Service was personal and friendly. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. We were one of the first patrons but I suspect it could get noisy if the place filled up. Chicken is formed and the size of a hockey puck and that's being nice. 7" to go container with a portion of mashed potatoes and the 2 hockey pucks. They nowhere on the site does it state that dill is put on it or the chicken isnt just a piece of breaded chicken breast. Total waste as the dill just took over everything. Total waste of money. I asked for an iced caramel latte, and after 15 minutes she brought me a "hot" latte that was lukewarm and tasted like water. I also got the omelet, and the eggs were so beyond salty. Not even edible. Lastly, I ordered the Fruit Blintzes Platter when I first walked in and ordered everything else, and 30 minutes into being here I had to remind her that I ordered that, and currently still waiting on it as I am typing this review and almost been here an hour. Being of Polish origin, I was very excited to find an authentic eastern European pierogi restaurant. I ordered through Uber Eats and the service was fantastic. However, the food was not so the pierogi were dry as if they were left out for a prolonged period of time the kielbasa, which was a hot dog type was horrible, and my cucumber salad turned out to be two inedible pickles. I also ordered the beet soup borscht. It was full of red potatoes that soaked up all the color from the soup. The soup was totally watery and didn't even have a taste of beets. I ordered for my son, the mushroom soup and as well it was extremely watery and not a mushroom to be found. This was the first and last time that I will purchase food from this establishment. I went to Baba PierIgor's with my daughter. I asked the waitstaff if the pierogies were gluten free and vegan. She said, "Yes! " she even went to the back to confirm as I have allergies. She assured me the pierogies were gluten-free and vegan. Later that night I was very very sick. I did not associate it with the pierogies until today when I went back with my husband again checking to make sure the gluten-free pierogies were vegan. This time the staff member came back and showed me the gluten-free flour package had powdered milk. I am quite disappointed in the lack of knowledge the staff has in regards to allergens. In addition, staff are totally unorganized and painfully slow. The cashier did not know how to make change and I had to wait for someone to help her even though told her the correct amount of change that was due. The Borscht was delicious restaurant decor was nice but not worth going back to Baba Pierogies because of staff and fatal allergen mistake. I replied to someone on their Facebook regarding vegan and gluten-free and they deleted my post. Not a restaurant I would recommend. read more
