A good clinic for those who want to ease off off narcotics. Knowledgeable staff, hours work for many.

The director and my counselor worked together and were also helpful in quickly getting my paperwork realigned after a computer glitch Which I appreciated.

Really top quality care for medication needs for those of you who had struggles with side effects…read moreand getting medication in the right dosage because you are on several. I had to change my provider a few times before meeting Dr. Won. Other helpful things to keep in mind: Unless you are looking for Spravato or medication requiring blood pressure or other active monitoring, virtual consultations are possible. She has two office admins who are very quick to respond to emails, help with appointments, and prescriptions. If need be, they also speak Korean fluently. Spravato is offered for in person visits and a private room with a reclining chair as well as soft music is provided along with heart rate monitoring. Please note that their in-person office hours are before 4PM on weekdays.

We live in Koreatown, and my son suffers from addiction, Bipolar I disorder, depression, delusions,…read moreand severe suicidal impulses. He has been hospitalized multiple times in psychiatric facilities and has also completed a stay in a rehabilitation center. After finishing his rehab program and returning home, we searched for a nearby psychiatrist and found Dr. Won, whose office had good reviews and was within walking distance. However, when we contacted the office, the reception staff repeatedly told us that we needed to bring either a referral from my son's primary care physician or a letter from his insurance group confirming that, if the group declined payment, we could submit the claim directly to Health Net. My son is covered by Obama Health Net, and his assigned insurance group is Legal Group. To my understanding, psychiatric care does not require a referral from a primary care doctor. Nevertheless, because the office insisted, he contacted both the primary care physician and the insurance group. Both confirmed that Health Net does not require a referral for psychiatric care, nor do they issue any letter or document of the kind the office was requesting. He informed Dr. Won's office of this over the phone, but they showed no understanding or flexibility. They continued to insist on the same requirement and even went so far as to suggest that we change my son's primary care provider in order to obtain the form they wanted. They also said that if we were unable to get a referral but still wanted to see the doctor, we would have to pay $350 upfront, and that they would later reimburse us only if they successfully received payment from Health Net. Just one weeks ago, my son attempted suicide and continues to suffer from severe depression. Despite this difficulty, he made every effort to gather his strength, see his primary doctor, and call the insurance group as requested. It is deeply concerning that the staff at Dr. Won's office seemed unaware of the vulnerable state of the patient they were dealing with. Their focus appeared to be solely on avoiding any potential financial loss, rather than on the well-being of a patient struggling to stay alive. In the end, my son did everything he could to meet their demands, but due to their unreasonable and repeated requests, he ultimately gave up on seeing Dr. Won. After days, he could contact with another psychiatrist, whom he met today. The new psychiatrist did not require a referral -- which aligns with the standard procedure for psychiatric care. Although I have not met Dr. Won personally, it is difficult not to conclude that the reception staff's behavior reflects the overall attitude of the office. Here's the English translation in a clear and professional tone: Although Dr. Won is a young psychiatrist in the community and many patients seek her care -- with some likely benefiting from her treatment -- based on my own experience, it is very sad and distressing to feel that she views patients who are struggling mentally and desperately seeking help merely as a source of income.

I'm sure she could help you above and beyond if they had a Dr or NP on site who are comprehensive in their work to help guide her and patients. This type of clinic is good for basic prescription needs, routine care and referrals. If you are young and healthy and can't afford much for insurance, you will be fine here. The "collect your co-pay and refer you out" business model is a needed cog in the American health system. The bad- If you are getting to the life stage where medical care may be complicated, I recommend you find a clinic within a health system so your care can be coordinated quickly and someone may actually follow-up with you. There was no communication to me regarding my breast cancer diagnosis and next steps, even if the next step is to say their office is not equipped to handle care, and offer alternate Primary Care providers or health systems to contact. I asked for a call back or simply an email/message for next steps only to never receive one b/c somehow it's telehealth to follow up with a patient. As a clinic grounded in the neighborhood, I would expect them to help one navigate insurance or next best step since cancer care is clearly out of their skill range or to simply care enough to call in a timely way. I now see from radiology reports that potential need for follow-up care were sent to the office weeks before I received notices via USPS mail. I feel like getting to a diagnosis and now next steps have been delayed by the lack of communication and urgency from this office. When I confronted them and asked when they were going to call me, I got an acknowledgement they noticed I saw my results through their patient portal but more excuses on why the did not contact me. This seems against common sense best practices, especially after speaking to other doctors, NPs, and attorneys for healthcare systems. I am unsure to this day if they would have ever called with my biopsy results. Just noticing a patient saw their results does not guarantee a patient knows what to do next. I can't imagine what would happen to a patient, going through what I did, who may have zero friends in medical professions to help them know what's normal care and what their results mean.

When I went into labor, the nursing staff was also absolutely superb. I actually bought them all gift cards afterwards bc it was such a dream to have a team who listened to me, respected my birth plan, did the epidural well to where I could squat and do 8 other positions before pushing. If I lived closer, I'd deliver my 2nd baby here but overall, I HIGHLY recommend. My 2 main nurses were Sonia and Grace. Thank you, guys!!!
