Arrived 10 minutes before opening. Third in line on a Thursday. Bueno! Sides: Mac N Cheese was creamy, cheese forward and flavorful. Eloté was the best I have ever eaten. Warm and spicy! Meat: Sausage had that snap and the cheese melted in yo mouf! Turkey is hands down the best I've had. Most of the time I don't bother with it at BBQ spots because it is always dry. Not here! Juicy and full of smoke with the right amount of salt. Pastrami brisket, first time I've had this, was fantastic. Salty, peppery, Smokey and perfect texture. Brisket was a miss. Texture was good and moist but it just didn't hit. Very little smoke, salt and pepper. I imagine it was an off day. Hence, the 4 stars. Most definitely going back when in town. Everything was so damn good it had to be an off day on the brisket.

If you've ever prayed for smoked meats, tea, and divine dessert all in one sitting, your answer might just be spelled B‑4. TL;DR: B4 Barbecue and Boba brought the Friday fire. I rolled in late, but pitmaster Nolan had me covered with a custom tray of Texas brilliance. Turkey, sausage, and wagyu brisket all hit with flavor that made my boots tap. Sides were electric, dessert was prophetic. Stamp #27 landed with a smoky exclamation mark. There are road trips. And then there are mission trips. I wasn't just driving to B4 Barbecue, I was making a pilgrimage. With a closing time of 3pm and sellouts common, I called ahead to the meat whisperer himself, Nolan Belcher. He said he'd hold me a plate. I trusted him like I trust a brisket wrapped in butcher paper. I rolled in at 2:15 PM and the "sold out" board was basically the entire meat menu. Everything gone... except some turkey and the plate with my name on it. The Plate: * Turkey: smoky, juicy, laced with a tandoori seasoning so righteous it should be outlawed in 48 states. * Chorizo Jalapeño Cheese Sausage: cheesy, spicy, perfect snap. Flavor grenade. * Wagyu Brisket: tender, rich, kissed by smoke and possibly angels. * Elote: creamy, zesty, dressed like it was headed to the State Fair. * Broccoli Slaw: surprisingly bold. If slaw always tasted like this, I'd eat more vegetables. In addition to BBQ sauce, they offered hot sauce. It was bold, it was spicy, it was genius. Dessert Time: You know I had to bring home banana pudding for the Side Dish Queen. But while I was packing up, Nolan slid over a peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on the house. It was still warm. I looked down at the bowl, looked up at the door, and knew the ice cream wasn't going to make it back to the truck. I ate it right there. Silence. Respect. Spoon licked clean. The food had swagger. The staff had heart. Nolan had my full attention. This was no ordinary stamp stop, this was a flavor revival. Stamp number 27 on the TM passport and a top-shelf experience from start to finish. Final Dad Line: That turkey was so seasoned, I almost baptized it and gave it a name.

The streak is over. 1st time we were not first in line. Once again the food is outstanding. Nolan prepares and presents the best BBQ around.

A new entry to the TX Monthly Top 50 Bbq list and well deserved. Got the 3 meat plate - brisket, ribs and sausage. Added a 1/4 lb of burnt ends. My 2 sides were elote and mac and cheese. First up, the glaze on the ribs was sweet and spicy and perfect. The brisket had great flavor and was very tender. The cheddar sausage, a bit of heat with wonderfully melty cheese. Burnt ends were tasty, a little too much fat for my taste. Their unique take on elote was creamy and delicious, the Mac and cheese, stellar. Just disappointed the chocolate tres leches cake wasn't available.

Arrived at 10:30 on Saturday, July 19 and was about 20th in line. Once opened at 11:00 it took about 30 minutes to order my food. It took about another 20 minutes after sitting down before I received my food. I ordered the "three meat plate" which also included 2 sides. I decided on moist brisket from the point, sausage, and pork belly burnt ends, with sides of Mac n cheese and broccoli slaw. I also ordered a beef Dino rib to go; I understand this is not on the menu often, so thought I would splurge. Brisket: 2 slices, each slice inconsistent on taste, texture and tenderness. Mostly very tender and moist, but each end was dry and little firm for beithe point. Taste was pleasing but lacked the level of smoke that I prefer, thus some of it having that roast beef flavor. The bark was epic on flavor, but again not enough of it. Lastly, some of the fat could have been more fully rendered. Sausage: coarse grind with good blend of spices and cheese mixed in. Casing had a good snap. Not too greasy. Good flavor. Pork belly burnt ends: good texture, but again lacking the level of smoke I would prefer. The cut and appearance were what you would expect but the flavor was just ok. Also, I personally am not a fan of the sprinkles on top, which tasted to me like freeze dried strawberries; weird, I know. Mac n cheese: some of the best I've ever had; great flavor, creamy, with perfect blend of pasta, cheese, and what I think was small chunks of ham, but not sure. Broccoli slaw: this was quite unique, which was why I wanted to try it. Tiny pieces of broccoli with tiny pieces of bacon, cheese and raisins. There was most likely other ingredients that I cannot quite identify. This was a flavor bomb, but I have mixed feelings if it works as good as it could. Occasionally it came across as a tad salty. All in all I would say this experience was good, but not great. I came away being just a tad disappointed, based on all the excellent reviews and the blessing of Matt Pitman from Meat Church. Don't get me wrong this was not anything close to bad; quite the contrary. But it could have been better. Nathan (owner) was very pleasant and walked around to ensure everyone had what they needed. I've had all the best BBQ throughout Texas and I'm a former KCBS judge, so I am coming from a fairly experienced background. If I do come back I'll have to try the turkey, pork ribs and pulled pork. Dino Rib: This was incredible!!! Great bark, great smoke flavor and extremely moist and tender. Highly recommend, but unfortunately not available often. (Ate this the next day at home)

B4 BBQ opened at 11AM and was essentially out of food by 1:30PM. We got the last potato salad and broccoli salad with pulled pork(all they had). So if you wanted anything else but those, you were out of luck...

    Deliciousness.

BBQ IN A FEED STORE. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We drove an hour and were not disappointed. In fact, the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We got there before opening.(OPEN Wed-Sat. 11a-3pm). Ordered the Brisket Elote and add a Texas Twinkie.. It even comes with a drink. O.M.G.! Absolutely Delicious. Also had the Meat candy. It was supple sweet with just the right amount of spices. We had Brisket to go. Supple, tender and moist. My friends had the ribs as well and they were great. The owner and staff were friendly and attentive. By far some of the best Bar-B-Que I have ever had. The Bar is set here. I am only in this part of Texas for a little while. I will be coming back.

Let me just say I come from a family full of BBQ snobs(me included)! So I officially state this is the BEST BBQ I've ever had. The meal(yes I ordered all this for myself!)was phenomenal! First off I loved the charm of this down home atmosphere and knew instantly if the food was good I'd be a forever customer when I'm in the area. Guess what? I'm a forever customer! I ordered and immediately was drawn to the incredible staff! Friendliest most helpful staff I've encountered! Chatted with you and explained all the items to me to a tee! I got to know Debbie and she filled me in on the restaurant plus you could tell she loved what she does! A+!!! In fact they all had a great positive attitude and I've eaten at hundreds of restaurants and rarely find this great service anywhere! Now to the food! Man o man I was in absolute heaven! The portion were huge and the meats were so tender they melted in your mouth! My late Uncle who was called the chili king of Texas at one time would have loved the ways the meats were smoked and prepared! The plate itself was a true southerner treat and had all the right accompaniments!!!! The ribs, turkey, brisket and sausage were amazing. There were two items I hadn't heard of, Meat Treats and Twinkies(no not the Hostess one) the Twinks are burnt pork ends and holy moly they were heaven!! Now to the Meat Treats. They were jalapeños stuffed with meat and wrapped in back. Damn good! The sides were also incredibly good and original. Now to the desserts. I don't even know what to say. The Texas chocolate pecan tres leches is one of the best desserts I have ever had in my life! So moist and a treat to your tongue. Then there was the banana pudding. It was like no other banana pudding I ever had. The texture is so creamy it's like cheesecake! Wow!!!!! They serve until they sell out. They sell out no question! I came towards the end of lunch so the pics looks they have no crowds but I know they get them especially on the weekends when they serve dinner. I also really dug the communal tables. Takes me back to the time when a lot of BBQ joints did that and you could chat up fellow patrons. I did that! What I pure joy it was to experience this amazing restaurant, staff and of course the FOOD! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Also these prices CAN'T be beat!

This is their combo plate. Really good deal as far a BBQ goes. Allows you to fall in love with their BBQ from the first bite!

Best BBQ I have had to date. I have tried them all from South Texas, Houston to Austin to Dallas and there is none better than B4 BBQ. They have an occasional option of a pastrami BBQ rib that melts in your mouth. Their variations on the sides are outstanding, including their deserts. I understand why they were written up in several magazines. Worth the trip no matter where you are in Texas. I am just lucky enough to live within 20 minutes. Get there early as they consistently sell out of their favorite items.

Beautiful tray of mixed meat choices as well as EXTRA pickles!

Absolutely the worst people, horrible service. The owner, Nolan, has an awful attitude. He's incredibly immature.

My wife had called about the Schnitzel and if they were still serving it. They have it on the menu for Oktoberfest. She had mentioned that because of Hogan's Heroes and all the German food they talk about on the show, I had a craving for German cooking. They usually serve it on days I work. However, I was off this past Saturday so she had asked if they would contact her if they were going to serve Schnitzel this Saturday. They contacted her and that yes, they were going to have it on the menu. We were excited that we were going to sample some good German cuisine. We brought a couple of our friends with us. We were not disappointed. All four of us ordered the Schnitzel meal. The meal consisted of the Schnitzel (very tender pork cutlet that you can easily cut with a fork), warm German potato salad with a perfectly tangy taste, homemade spätzle and of course sauerkraut. We all loved it. The whole meal was scrumptious. Kimberly served us and was so helpful answering questions about how the Schnitzel meal was actually cooked. I sure hope they keep it on their menu full time. You of course can't go wrong with their burgers and the loaded potatoes as well.

We ordered the decision armadillo eggs and the pimento cheese eggs, so creative and yummy!! Our meal was caeser salad with homemade caeser, in fact all the condiments are made in house!! Our table got two spuds, and four burgers. The burgers were filling and tasty! They even gave us grilled in garlic aioli jalapenos which were perfect! The tater tots, regular and layered were so good!! And the onion rings were crunchy and tasted great! We got some dairy farm ice cream to go since we were stuffed! Thank you for hosting us for a yummy late lunch! The service was funny and so helpful as we made decisions! The location is easy to find right off the highway and accessible bathrooms. Simple place with decor of the history of the town. Go check it out!
