Everyone was extremely helpful and seemed equally knowledgable on their products. I really liked the outdoor gardening section in particular this year. We walked out with more flowers than we needed because the cost was just too much of a bargain. One particular worker saw us looking at patio furniture, asked if we needed help, and returned with the set we needed in less than five minutes, escorted us to check out, helped us locate the rebate section, and loaded everything into our car with a smile on his face and hardworking attitude. It made what is usually a trip I dread (hardware stores/furniture stores in general) easy and enjoyable. I'll be choosing Menards from now on. They sold me on that change today. He also claimed online orders "aren't connected to his store," which makes no sense in 2025 when everything is digital. Because of Todd's unprofessional and outdated approach, what should have been a simple order pickup turned into a frustrating waste of time. What's even more concerning is that Todd still makes photocopies of physical credit cards and staples them to orders--meaning stacks of customers' CC numbers are just sitting around the store. That's not just old-school; it's a serious security risk. We've been customers for 30 years, and after this experience, we won't be returning. Once their separate online store opens, we'll be canceling entirely. If you're an online buyer--beware. There is zero mention anywhere that virtual cards aren't accepted, nor that a physical card is required for pickup. If I could give zero stars, I would. Turned out they only had one of that model but their sales rep, Gosha, was able to find another unit they had in stock that fit our needs even better. Long and short, we got what we needed from American Freight, on the day we needed it, and every promise made was kept. I've installed one of the two already and it's working great. We saved about $400 overall and got a 3 year warranty on both. Big Box retailers couldn't get them to us until mid November and we likely would have paid more than full price for them.
