It is super great to be able to buy boutique items without having to wait for it to come online. The store is set up super cute with tons of options for both boys and girls. I wish it had been around when my daughter was younger, I would have been in there all of the time. The staff is super friendly always! They are always willing to help out and do everything they can for us while we are there. They also have an adorable build a stuffed animal section (Similar to Build A Bear) which is reasonably priced with tons of options from different sizes and styles of animals to different outfits you can purchase for them! My friend's daughters and my daughter had a blast picking out new friends. I highly suggest it if you don't want to go all the way to the mall and pay loads more. So, shopping at the Big Rapids location and I'm pretty appalled actually. I came in to do some…read moreshopping for sugar free/carb free cake that I'm making for a friend of mine's daughter. You know, kids have it hard enough these days but when you add in ANY type of illness it just makes it that much worse! So I'm hoping to make a beautiful and tasty cake for this young lady turning 13, whose friends regularly eat sugar filled cake. Of course Meijer doesn't sell these cakes and I'm not a professional baker but if I were I would certainly try to accommodate my customers if I didn't carry something they needed. Long story semi short... you can't SELL a cake board and plastic cover to a customer who is making something you don't? Really? First off way to fail at customer service! Second, I HATE Walmart but at least I can buy a plastic/cardboard cake plate from them!! Update: Meijer contacted me and apologized for this encounter. They stated normally they would not sell their supplies but in certain cases a team lead should be consulted. He stated in this case they would have sold me one cake board and dome. I really appreciate that they did this and they also stated they would bring this up with the staff working that day to clarify. In either case, I still made this girls cake and it turned out great!
