BBT is one of my preferred sources for fly tying materials. I find the have competitive prices and are a prompt shipper.

Great local store. Not the largest selection but guys are pretty knowledgeable and usually tying some flies up as you walk in!!! Have had guide service out of BBT and it was a great trip!!!! Biggest brown I've ever caught on the PM!!!! read more

They are weirdly rude and snobby in there. We have been in there every year for the past 5 years, they act like they are better than everyone, give bad advice and their prices are high. Do yourself a favor and go to the Orvis store instead. read more

Do Not buy a rod from these guys. I repeat do Not buy from these guys. I baught a sage rod online and they shipped me a broken rod. I took it back to the store the same day as it was shipped to me with with O minutes fished and they told me sorry that I had to return it to the manufacture. it had a broken guide and was never used! I would never buy a rod from them. Go staright to the manufacure to purchase because these jockers have no value. THey should not be selling rods and they should not be selling rods with broken guides. I think they intentional send out equipment they find faulty. they are scammers! read more

You're not going to find a better guide on the Pere Marquette River than John K. Nobody knows the river better and he is a great guy to be in a in a boat with for a day. He's a patient and effective teacher...and a great conversationalist. I haven't fished with Steve but I know he is also a master. Jay anchors the shop and can be counted on for all the best intel if you are fishing on your own. I would give BBT more than 5 stars if allowed. read more

My buddy and I had a great day fishing the Pierre Marquette river with John Karakashian. John was fun to fish with, he provided the perfect mix of working hard to catch fish, have a lot of fun along the way and providing a little education about fly fishing. Growing up this was always the spot to go for whatever you needed for fishing etc. I recently visited and saw that they do not carry quite as many items as they used to. I am writing this review in hopes that more people stop in to shop here instead of a chain because the quality of the items that Baldwin bait and tackle sell are top notch and the pricing is better than most places. This is about the best shop you can go to. Great guide service too. If you call and ask for the fishing report, they will be honest with you instead of just telling you its good to get you to come over and spend money when the fishing isn't good. I highly recommend going on a guided trip. You will learn soooo much. They have good equipment in the shop and it works on the river. This is a well run business with honest people who love what they do. This place beats any big box retailer. You need gear? Go here. They will hook you up and even show you how to use it.
