We used B. Langston's to handle an estate sale for my mother-in-law, and unfortunately the experience was very frustrating due to poor communication--particularly from Anthony. My wife was the primary point of contact throughout the process, but even after the sale had been over for a month, she was unable to get any information about the proceeds. At that point, I stepped in and quickly experienced the same issues. Calls went straight to voicemail with no response for days. When I finally reached him via text, he asked who I was, and after I explained and requested a call back, there was still no follow-up. I then contacted the physical store and spoke with a staff member who seemed surprised that we had not yet received payment. She assured me someone would reach out, but again, no one did. After continued effort tracking Anthony down, he eventually agreed to meet later that week, and we were finally paid. Communication is a basic expectation in any business, especially when dealing with something as sensitive as an estate. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here. It's so ironic that when I utilized the contact form on their website to inquire about having an estate sale, I was contacted the same day (even though I was told they were actually out of the country at the time, or so they said). Our estate sale was held March 20-22, 2025, at our 3853 square foot home full of furniture, antiques and other valuable items. Today is June 11th, and I have been unable to get an answer from this contact form or a return phone call to provide me with the status of when I can expect to receive proceeds from the estate sale. Anthony has texted me twice, saying both times that he thought this had been taken care of and promising me that he would follow up and get this closed out. I have not heard back from him again. It seems B. Langston's has fallen off the face of the earth. I think it is highly unprofessional for B. Langston's not to contact me and close this out. This review is only the beginning on my part to get information regarding my proceeds from the estate sale. I plan to contact an attorney as well as local law enforcement, the news media, the Better Business Bureau, and possibly the state attorney's office, since I believe I have no alternative. I also believe B. Langston's has committed criminal misconduct, fraud and possibly grand theft by withholding my proceeds from the estate sale. I hope this review will warn anyone contemplating doing business with B. Langston's to seek out another estate sale company to work with. read more

Did not provide any parking control. The entrance to our neighborhood was blocked by cars parked on both sides of the street. Police were called and got cars moved so we could use our street. read more

I could not tell you the last time that I had such a bad customer service, that it warranted me writing up a bad review. I found this company to be incredibly unprofessional, rude, and uncommunicative. They have made an already stressful move into somewhat of a nightmare. I reached out to this company over three weeks ago regarding some items that I would like to sell off in preparation of my move. A gentleman showed up 20 days ago, looked at the items, and we agreed on a price. Since then, I have reached out to the company over 20 times to try to orchestrate a day for them to come and pick up the items. Out of the 20 days, I was only unavailable for three of those days because I was out of town. At one point during the text conversations, they said that it was my fault because I was never around. They had only once offered me a window for them to pick the items up, and it was on a morning that they knew that I was out of town. I have been very very patient with this company. But at this point I'm going to have to migrate to another company because I move it a week and these folks are not getting back to me at all at this point. I am incredibly discouraged and disheartened that they would show absolutely no sense of urgency in a situation where somebody is moving. This consignment shop carries a nice traditional range of products that always appear very clean and well-kept. I check in once every two months seeking items for my etiquette class. Depending on who is working that day the staff can appear preoccupied but I have always receive good service and a welcome when I enter the door. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! We contracted with them and they started setting up table and pricing items for 3 days. Last night at 10:15 they called and said all of our stuff was garbage and they would not make money. This after writing up a contract and already starting to set up. they offered us a very low sum of money to take items off our hands. We told them no and to leave. They had already take Snow Babies and Precious Moments out of boxes and left them. Our house is a disaster with what they left. Turned the air down to 72 and all ceiling fans on high. Real kicker, contract was on coffee table and they took so now can't sue them for breach of contract! DO NOT USE!!! read more

This morning 06/22/2020, I made an appointment to sell a collection. At first I dealt with a young, dark haired and bearded young man . We agreed on three items and verbally agreed on a price(me to sell him to buy). I then had the same young man appraise 7 other items. When the young man was almost finished an older man (the owner) walked in and we spoke. I introduced myself and the owner instructed the young man to finish appraisal. When the agent and owner finished discussion on how much they would offer for all ten items. The owner came back alone. He didn't really know or acknowledge the deal struck with his employee (agent) on the first three items. B. Langston's agent agreed to purchase three (3) items regardless of purchasing the other seven (7) items. The owner then made a insulting offer on all ten (10). I declined the offer on seven (7) items. I then told him I will take the agreed upon offering on three (3) items. I should have believed the reviews. These folks aren't trustworthy! He refused to honor his agent's offer! Had to clear out our parents senior living condo after they passed away. We contacted multiple other companies that couldn't or wouldn't help us in the time we had. Bid was a little low for the contents but they were on time and completed the job as promised. They even did a light cleaning before they left. read more

The conduct of their estate sales is unprofessional, their recordkeeping is a shambles, and they do not pay the property owners within the time allotted by the contract. They do not return calls or correspondence. Please save your family the frustration and sadness, and work with someone else. read more

I won a Lladro at auction and they were easy to work with. UPS picked up the item from them and was shipped out pretty quickly. You might want to inquire about shipping rates with UPS before bidding. Shipping seemed pricey. But my Lladro was well priced! Definitely would buy from them again read more

Was not impressed with the owner-very snooty. Sale was a week later than we thought , not too much advertising and if you want to know what the sale price was for an item it will cost you another 10%. Went to one of their estate sales in Jacksonville area. Drove quite far to attend. The owners and staff were very helpful, before and during the sale. Very professional staff, with packing and loading help. I go to estate sales all over the Southeast. I wish I could give them less than 1 star. The owner, Barbara is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They did not clean up after themselves and we ended up having to pick up someone else's trash. They brought an entire house full of other people's junk to sell at our estate sale. And trying to get the money after the sale took many phone calls, which were not returned in a timely manner. Do yourself a favor and run, not walk, away from these people. Silly me, I did not see the reviews on Langston estate sales until it was to late. Barbara was very nice and knowledgable when she came to my home to set up my estate sale as we sold our house. The sale was set up for a Friday and Saturday. All the items not sold were to be out of the home by Sunday night, as I had a cleaning crew coming early Monday morning. I went over Sunday night and was beyond shocked. They might have sold one tenth of the available items. I noticed the price tags. Things were so over priced, I am surprised anything sold. I called the shop no one to talked to. I begged for a call back. Finally a person named Anthony called and said they would be over first thing Monday morning to get all the left overs out. Then Monday morning came and everything was piled outside the home in a heap. Called and left messages, finally Anthony showed up and hauled it away. I was told it was going to a charity. I have called and left 15 messages and texts for Barbara to call me about the monies due to me. I am always told the same thing that Barbara is on the phone, 15 times, really. I made sure to keep records on all my calls and text so I can inform the Attorney General of Florida and the Better Business Bureau the facts. So folks save yourself all this trouble and get another company or call a charity to pick up your items. This has been one of the top scams I was so stupid to fall for. read more

This company will tell you anything to get you to sign a contract. Once you sign they do not keep their part of the contract. They have never even paid us and it is almost a year! They say they owe us a rediculous amount of money for our things and want us to sign a release saying we are happy with what they did! They play phone games with you etc. Don't fall for the lost my parents know how you feel line . . it is a ploy to play with you.
