Both John S. and Clint K. were easy to work with during the estimate phase and provided an approximate start month which they stuck too once the contract was signed. All phases of the construction were done efficiently and fluidly. There was very little downtime in between trades and they found ways to keep progress through a New England winter. The employees of Northwoods were all skilled, courteous, and clean. They performed some amazing tile and carpentry work and all the other subcontractor trades they brought in, from the framers to the plasterers, painters, plumber, electrician, insulation, landscape/hardscaping, etc. were all exceptional. Their project superintendent, John R, is amazing at his job and has a strong command of schedule and coordinating the trades as needed. A few small bumps along the way were all handled quickly and fairly. The finished product is amazing, and we couldn't have been happier with the end result. We would highly recommend Northwoods Builder for any size house project.

Stan came over, saw my situation and right away knew exactly what I want. He saw that it was very narrow and said he can make it a little wider. While he was there, I mentioned that I want to have my foundation wall finished with stucco. He told me he has a guy who can do that too. Well, I got a couple of other quotes from others and I knew after that Stan was the right guy for the job. His numbers are very reasonable and I can tell he knew what he was doing. We do not recommend AG Reliable Remodeling for any work from the simplest remodel to an addition…read more We had an addition put on our house by them. Allen Grome had a lack of communication and follow through after he got the job. There were numerous mistakes and issues, from structural mistakes to poor scheduling to not ordering required supplies in a timely manner - which all lead to delays and overages - there were too many issues to put into this review. However, pictures don't lie. So take a look at the quality of their work and decide for yourself. Additionally, their contracts are very vague and high level, they are not detailed, so there is plausible deniability on their part. Buyer beware! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In response to the comment by AG Remodeling, Allen Grome: In his response to our review, he goes on about how the inspections passed, and how much scheduling there was but he doesn't acknowledge or accept responsibility for the mistakes, problems and poor quality of the finish work. This is an especially important point, because when you spend a lot of money on your home, you want it to look beautiful and be done right. I don't know why AG Remodeling would be surprised at the low rating they received from us, they shouldn't have been. We had many discussions during the course of the project and Allen knew we were not happy. We consistently asked for more communication throughout the project, but rarely got it. The pictures that we attached to the review were accurately documented at the end of the project. The wall corners that are not square, the mirrors that are not straight or square, the knicked baseboard that was painted and left in place and the poorly joined baseboards would never be considered "punch list items". These are examples of a crew that doesn't put in the effort to properly do a quality job the first time around. If they had come back to correct them at the end of the project, they would've had to tear up our house again, and we had serious concerns whether it would ever be done right. We had several conversations with Allen about these issues and he never once acknowledged any of our concerns. We gave them one opportunity to fix the "punch list items", and the picture of how they filled in the nail holes was a result of "nail holes that were not filled". They wanted to sand the joined baseboard molding in order to make it look better, more even. We insisted that it be replaced. At that point, we lost confidence in their ability to properly fix the "punch list items" and told them to just leave as we were fed up. This was also told to Allen, so again, the review shouldn't have been a surprise.

Nate's friendly and capable crew works quickly yet pays attentions to details. No idling on the job, the head contractor is very good at delegating and assigning tasks so his team operates at its peak. We closed on a home in Framingham, and needed to move within 10 days. Nate's head contractor carefully listened to all of our requests, needs and came back with reasonable pricing for the work to be done. He also educated us on multiple things that came up while the work was happening. We ended up deviating from our plan and went with his suggestions. Safe to say, we made the right choice. The work was done in 9 days and we were able to move on time. We were so happy with Nate's work, we also hired them to fix up our old home before we put on the market. Nate's Remodeling is not your average contractor. Their work speaks for itself, no BS, no excuses, just quality without breaking the bank. The hassle-free and one stop shopping makes the headaches to remodeling a thing of the past. I highly recommend to my friends and family! You won't regret choosing Nate's Remodeling!

My experience with Edson was not quite the same as others. Edson was hired to paint the exterior…read moreand interior of a 1950's home with a new addition, approximately 21k plus. While he is extremely nice, he is not a good supervisor and takes on way too much work, spreading himself too thin. If you just need one painter, give him a try but you'll need to speak Portuguese because his staff doesn't speak or understand English much at all. Our experience was Edison basically left one painter onsite and rarely checked in on how the work was going, leaving me to supervise his guy(s). I later found out that the original painter didn't even work for him, he was a sub-contractor which negates his liability insurance. Many issues; way too long to do the work, cost additions (because he left a painter on the job (who was extremely nice) but would put a finish coat on a wall before the prep was up to par), areas missed, etc. There was one incident we are sure one of his painters did but cannot prove. While painting a basement floor with enamel paint, someone decided to use the bathroom in the sump pump pit. Because the sump pump had a cover on it but was not hooked up as yet, we needed to replace the sump pump because the pit reeked of urine odor because it sat for a couple of weeks before being noticed. In the end, no matter how many times we gave Edson a punch list, items were missed, the work is still incomplete, they are gone. A few of the pics posted on this site are from this job, they don't however, show the issues or how long it took to get there.
