I grabbed the: Chicken Bacon Hoagie - the thick cut chicken definitely indicate that this was a fresh deli sub and the gooey cheese could only be accomplished by fresh sliced too. Add on the crispy bacon and soft bun - this hoagie was quality and well priced Dirt Pudding - I'm a sucker for a dessert and what better than a single serving of a fresh made goodie. It's a proper neighborhood butcher shop on Butler Street, the kind of place that had mostly disappeared around here. They do whole animal butchery with meat sourced from local Pennsylvania farms, and you can feel how much the folks working there care about what they're doing. It's not a huge space, just a display case full of cuts, a wall of house made goods, and a small sandwich menu, but that's part of the charm. The staff were friendly and happy to point me in the right direction. The sandwiches are what really got me though. The smash burger is fantastic, a double patty on a challah bun with that special sauce, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef, which makes sense given the whole operation is built around good meat. I also grabbed some of their house made pastrami, and it did not disappoint, tender and full of flavor. Knowing everything is made in house, right down to the bacon and sausages, makes it even better. If you live nearby and don't have a butcher yet, this is the one.
