Fresh Thyme is an organic food supermarket chain, so I'll stop in occasionally to see what's new and/or to treat myself to some "fancy" groceries. Because of the cost of their items though, I'll shop here for supplemental goodies after getting my main haul elsewhere. (For me, Aldi and Trader Joe's are stops #1 and #2. Places like this, Giant Eagle, and The Fresh Market are where I go "just because" or when I want to splurge on groceries.) When I do stop in I always explore the baked goods and frozen foods - usually there are items and brands in these sections that aren't at other stores. (A lot of items are gluten free, too, which I know makes a difference to a lot of people.) I generally skip the produce and deli sections; the selections in both are decent but I can find these things elsewhere for less. And here's something I've never had to say about a grocery store before: I ALWAYS walk right past their supplements section, which is (in my opinion) unnecessarily large. I could talk at length about my problems with how supplements are (not) managed in America, so before I bog down my own review we'll move right along! Final thoughts: their selection is fine, and in theory it's great that they sell a variety of "healthy" things. In practice though, the food products are overpriced, and there are enough vitamins and supplements on sale that I almost question whether or not this should be classified as a grocery store. While I'll pop in and out of here occasionally, I'll never be a regular shopper.

If not for the way the greens have gone downhill, this place would get 5 stars from me…read more They have changed from the fresh heads of red leaf, green leaf and other lettuces and greens to pre-packaged produce. This means not only MORE plastic coming home with us, but sub-par goods in packaging we cannot see into. We are unable to inspect them before we buy them without tearing open the packaging. The lettuce heads are tiny and often wilted. One was moldy. And don't bother with the "Little Leaf Farms" "baby" lettuces in the plastic boxes. They are nothing but stems with some LITTLE LEAVES attached. These are not "baby" greens. You are paying premium prices for what looks like floor sweepings and discards. My animals won't even eat them. I contacted the store, but only got " please return for a refund". Even with photos of my purchases, they didn't seem to see an issue. I suggest you go to Giant Eagle for your fresh produce until this store either hires a produce manager who cares about the customers more than his bottom line and (no doubt) his end of year bonus, or changes their policies to offer fresh grown local produce again, in optional plastic bags.
