Not only did he schlep all the way up to Westchester after having a job in the middle of Long Island, he stayed well past 5pm on a Friday without any hesitation. He diligently got the machine fixed and also gave us tips on how to ensure our washer and other Samsung appliances stay in tip top shape. He showed up as promised and quickly determined that an overload relay needed replacement. He replaced it and left. When the fridge did not get cold by next morning, I called Chris again. He determined that the refrigerator needed freon, a service that he does not provide. When I decided to buy another refrigerator, Chris came back, took out the one-day overload relay from my old refrigerator, refunded some of my money and we parted quite happily. The appointment receptionist was exceptional and they could come over the next day. They sent me a map of where the technician was before he arrived! I had an absolutely terrible experience with Haggis Appliance Repair…read more From the beginning, they misdiagnosed the issue with my wine cooler and nearly cost me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. Communication was awful they were unresponsive for days at a time and never answered their phone. They also showed up an hour before the scheduled appointment time without calling ahead and started pounding on my door. When I explained that this was not appropriate because I have a reactive dog, instead of showing any empathy or taking accountability, they blamed me for having an "uncontrollable dog." The husband was arrogant and acted as though he didn't need anyone's business. In fact, he actually told me this on a recorded call. The wife was incredibly rude and unpleasant to deal with. They were in and out in about 15 minutes, did very little investigation, and didn't even move the wine cooler to properly assess the problem. I had explained it wasn't ideal for me to lose two days of pay and take off work, because they wanted to come back a second time. The wife whose name I have, but I will refrain from mentioning didn't property introduce herself. She would only communicate via text message and said she was "the office". They had my very sick father drive an hour to my house to search for an eight-year-old receipt for a warranty claim, only for it to turn out that the repair had been misdiagnosed and wasn't even covered under warranty. So it was completely pointless. They insisted on a work order, which is why we had to find the receipt. Throughout the entire ordeal, they never once apologized for the inconvenience, wasted time, or additional expense they caused. Took no accountability. When I expressed frustration about the situation, they were dismissive and told me to find someone else. They also insisted that most customers are happy when they arrive an hour before a scheduled appointment. They were disgustingly disrespectful. They also failed to provide a report or receipt when I requested one, which only added to the frustration and lack of professionalism throughout the experience. Thankfully, I then worked with Joe from JP precision appliance, and the difference was night and day. Joe was responsive, kind, polite, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He immediately moved the wine cooler, properly diagnosed the issue, explained everything clearly, and fixed the problem efficiently. He was friendly, honest, and prepared, and he saved me from spending money on unnecessary repairs. It was a $685 fix , they told me it would be thousands. He fixed it the same day, they told me it would take time for parts to come in. I found out after using them that a multitude of other people had poor experiences as well I would strongly recommend avoiding haggis and instead working with someone like Joe, who understands customer service, professionalism, and how to properly diagnose and repair appliances.

i have been using john's village appliance repair for many years…read more john in these days is one in a million. returns your calls, shows up the same day, charges very reasonable, and is very personable. a great guy. and... no charge for just walking in the door, like a lot of thief repair men are allowed to do now. however , john retired recently and i can't figure out how he picked this caveman to take over his business. i've spoken to this new guy twice and and he is no good. he won"t discuss what might be wrong with your appliance over the phone, he just wants to come over and run a diagnostic. you've been warned, this cretan is the absolute opposite of john.
