Pennsylvania Tire & Auto

Since ~2018, I have been a customer of PA Tire & Auto and in these past five years, I have…read moreconsistently received quality service and honesty from the team of mechanics and managers. The last time I called to schedule an appointment I learned that my favorite manager, Matt Talley was promoted and no longer at the Ardmore location. I was bummed and thought this was a sign that I should stop making the drive out to the suburbs for my car needs. I did some research and found a place in the city for my next inspection and oil change. I decided to do some additional reading of Yelp reviews and discovered this place was overpriced and reported to be dishonest. The pricing compared to what I had been paying at PA Tire & Auto was astronomical and that was enough to make the trip out to the suburbs worth it. I am so glad that I changed my mind and ultimately took my car to PA Tire & Auto in Ardmore again. I called to make my appointment and was able to schedule for the next day. They were able to accommodate my need to wait for my car and have even upgraded the seats in the waiting area so I had an easy time getting my work done. During my appointment, I was lucky enough to meet the new manager Bram. He is everything that I have come to know and expect at PA Tire & Auto - friendly, honest, and clear in communicating everything that a customer needs to know about their car. My car passed inspection but I was made aware about the future need for new tires. My tire pressure has been consistently low, so I suspected a leak going into the appointment. Bram explained that it was not urgent, and provided me with an estimate so I could prepare for the cost when the time comes. Another perk that really saved me is that they accept Apple Pay. I was in a rush to leave the city in the morning and completely forgot my wallet. Luckily, this did not end up being an issue. At this point, I can confidently say I will be a loyal PA Tire & Auto customer for life.

A friend recommended this place. The hours said they open at 8 so I arrived around 830a on a Monday…read moreto try to be one of the first customers. However the gas station clerk told me the tire person doesn't usually arrive until 930. I went to a nearby tire shop instead.

My whole family are in auto in some way but unfortunately live far from me, so I decided to go to a local around the corner from my house. They insisted it was $190 and wouldn't take a card. I had $100 in cash ready to go, too. The guy admitted that he probably said the wrong price to me, and then made me pay the full price regardless. NEVER again. An oil change is not $85, don't let them tell you that either. Not all of us are in Ardmore have our pockets lined to drop an extra $100 on a service that costs 50 anywhere else. Andate affanculo, ladri

I had read the good reviews on Milano and was glad to find a local mechanic where I could take my…read moreolder foreign car rather than the dealership. The woman who scheduled me was warm and friendly. But the day I arrived for my appointment, I was taken aback by the fact that no-one greeting customers wore a mask in the midst of a global pandemic. And when the owner met me and took my key, he was flat out rude. But I chalked it up to it possibly being due to the fact that they were short-staffed, or even a naturally gruff personality. So, when he called me back later that day and was "Mr. Friendly," I was surprised. But here's the thing. He was super friendly and affable...UNTIL he realized that he'd called the wrong number. Yeah, apparently he thought he was talking to another customer. Once he figured out he was speaking to ME and not the other customer, he became totally rude and dismissive again. Bordering on rage. It was like Jekyll and Hyde. And then he launched into a whole tirade about how he hadn't looked at the car and wouldn't touch it. I had been prepared for the expense of repairing it. But this was the weirdest and the rudest encounter I've ever had with a service person. I still don't know what the deal was. Was it because I'm a woman? I don't know. But the entire experience was pretty unsettling.
