This B & K Fish Mini Market is a local spot and vibe . The goat meat was soooo good ! The customer service was pleasant and they make some strong drinks . Now, don't walk into B & K Fish Mini Market expecting a 5 star dining area because it's not like that . It's very urban " Brooklyn" and local . There are table to sit down , dance floor, and pool tables . Just come eat good, talk laugh in good company, dance, play pool, and go home which equals a good night ! read more

I love the fried fish here, but it's also so convenient getting fresh fish if I want to cook it at home. This place is a tiny holr in the wall, under a train track, and run by family. Despite tge fact that its a small spot its crowded, even on a rainy day. It's also a small fish market but it doesnt smell fishy at all. Their prices are great! I got 3 meals for $25. 2 pieces of fried flounder, 2 steamed tilapia, 5 fried crabsticks, 2 fried shrimp and scallops with fries and vegetables. And it wS all so good. There's plenty of seasoning, sauces and of course melted butter are all available as toppings. The service is a bit chaotic but polite and courteous. I was about to get on the train and spotted a fish market (yes, I was hungry). I went in and it was more of a bodega, complete with the good Latin music playing like a soundtrack, with a fish market where you could order fried and steamed food to order. It was a bit busy and the counter guy was dealing with a lady seemingly ordering the whole store. Tina packed my order, and as I asked whether they were new, they both roared with laughter telling they had been there for 10 years. I was given a menu, a smile, paid my tab and was out the door. I swung into the Chinese Fast food joint next door and walked right out dismayed they didn't have a brown rice option. Sure I knew it was likely to be one of them divey places where people order fried chicken wings over fried rice with spare rib tips on the side. Anyhow, next door was the Fish Mini Market where I glanced at the menu for a good two minutes and then decided with a steamed combo #1: two whiting fish, 2 shrimp, steamed veggies. For $5.50, they could add a slice of bread with it - otherwise it's .25 a slice as a previous customer was bitching about. In any case, I enjoyed the fact that the man literally picked out two pieces of fish from across the cooking station to the large stands of fish on ice. Steamed it with some old bay and that was that. Simple. Healthy. Only gripe would be that the spine wasn't deboned very cleanly and I suppose a lot of other customers who typically order their fish fried wouldn't notice it. read more

Included in that bag are napkins and a fork & knife but you have the option there to choose before you leave the store. Now to the food I always get my go to that's the steamed salmon & shrimp w/ mixed veggies and a side order of sweet potato fries. The food here is always very consistently made and if your a seafood lover this is the place to be! Food is fairly priced takes about 10-15 minutes to fully make. Salmon & shrimp are cooked perfectly also the veggies are a great compliment to the meal sweet potatoes fries are just the topping for me because I'm just greedy but anyways lol. Seafood was boiled perfectly- not rubbery and not too soft! Tasted amazing with the spices and butter they poured on top! Squeezed with lemon and it was the perfect combo! Definitely go! The veggies were delicious as well, and the price was perfect -- about $20 for two very fresh meals full of fresh seafood. Came in looking for the freshest and best salmon in the area to cook my special pan seared rosemary garlic butter salmon for me mums birthday dinner. I saw the price and I was like dang it! This is my go to fish fry in the area. I'm always wary of random fish spots but this spot is clean and has no smell whatsoever. They have a nice selection of fish, shrimp and shelled critters. The service is also pretty good for a takeout spot. The pricing is good for the set specials or you can go to the fish section, select your own and they'll prepare it for you. The per pound pricing is also good enough where ordering everything separately is an affordable option. Although if you get the Asian lady instead of the father or son, she will over confirm that you know this option is extra. Even after you acknowledge the price will be more she will continue to insist and confirm, it's a bit frustrating. They take card which I always appreciate from small establishments. Minus 1 star because they always have everything cleaned and packed away for the night an hour to 90 min. before closing. After that it's mainly just fries and premade fried crab sticks. Nothing beats a NYC whiting Fish Sandwich. I recently discovered K & B Fish Market, because Angel Fish market closes so early. There is really nothing much to say. The Whiting Fish Sandwich is amazing, and taste just how it is supposed too. I usually also get crab sticks, and fried shrimp. They have all the sauces n condiments on the counter than you can put on after they cook your food. They also do steamed food. I sometimes get steamed shrimp and corn. I love this place.
