However, the company failed to finish the job (grass seeding) for over a month after their initial work despite repeated requests to get the job done. This was on top of many timing issues leading up to the initial plantings (email scheduling never accurate and often ignored). Then after 3 months, a few of the planted shrubs died. The owner, Matt Bailey, before the initial work began, guaranteed me work, and indicated that to the extent shrubs died, he would re-plant at no labor cost, and would only charge the pro-rated cost of plants. Well, I have now been communicating with Matt Bailey for two months, and despite being given numerous assurances that the shrubs would be replaced (and that he had the replacement shrubs in his possession), follow up has been non-existent, and he has refused to make good on his guarantee. His lack of communication, and frankly, honesty, has been disappointing and unacceptable.

About 5 minutes later Richie called me back asking how he could help me *** Huge kudos for the extra effort*** I asked him his price on loam and he was cheaper by $1.00 a yard, not a huge savings, but considering his general attitude and only being 1.5 miles further down the road I opted for Landscape Express, and am I glad I did. If you've never been to Landscape Express, Richie not only rings you out but also loads you up, so there is no dealing with yard personnel unless he is very busy (BTW all his yard workers are as friendly as he is) Being a homeowner, it was so nice to see that my money was just as important as they guy behind me buying 15 yards of loam. I just recently went back to purchase crushed stone for my garage foundation and even though I accidentally came after hours (they close at 4pm in July) Richie was as helpful as ever. Chris and his amazing team redid our backyard (installed an 800 sq ft patio around the pool area,…read moredemo of old concrete patio and old stone walls) this summer, and we could not be happier with the results. He encouraged us to prioritize the backyard space since this is what we used the most, and this was a smart move. Positive things about Chris and his team: Chris is incredibly creative and clearly loves his work. He has some serious vision, and every time he came back to the yard we could see his gears working, as if he was moving the space all around in his mind and enjoying the process of figuring out how to make the space as beautiful and workable as possible. While we had a tight budget, he was able to help us envision stages that we could do over the years and prioritize the steps that would give us the most bang for our buck. Chris and his team are impeccable in their work. They do not cut corners. When they found an unfilled old septic tank in the yard, they filled it. When they found TONS of buried old concrete in the yard, they removed it all carefully. They helped the pool people dig a trench for replumbing when they were all there together, trying to get the job done in time. Chris travelled to Haverhill to try to get us the pavers we wanted when another paver we had chosen was going to take an extra week. Eddie, the crew's foreman, clearly takes great pride in his work and makes sure every detail is considered. Even though we lost some days to the pool replumbing and rain, Eddie made sure they took care to finish everything just right. People have been floored when they see the transformation of our yard (photos to come!). They all say it feels like the yard was meant to look like it does now. We have SO much space to entertain and relax. We were firm about staying within our budget, and Chris did a tremendous job trying to do so (only went a little over after getting our full agreement). You have to make sure you're communicating everything clearly w/any contractor, and we learned that during this project: to keep revisiting the agreement and plan to make sure we were all on the same page. Chris was kind, helpful, had great ideas throughout, is laid back and good humored, and his crew is made up of super hard working, friendly, always smiling guys who seem to communicate with each other constantly so that they are all working together effectively. Chris helped us connect with pool people and an electrician to make sure the whole patio/pool process went well. Now we have not only a great contractor, but also great pool folks and a brilliant electrician we trust. Pretty sweet. I highly recommend C Parks for patios, pool areas, stone wall building, landscaping needs. We will be definitely working with them in the future. And I'll post the before and after photos asap.
