I have had a mixed experience with Mountaintop Landscape. The landscape design and initial…read moreplantings were done well (but certainly not cheap). However, the company failed to finish the job (grass seeding) for over a month after their initial work despite repeated requests to get the job done. This was on top of many timing issues leading up to the initial plantings (email scheduling never accurate and often ignored). Then after 3 months, a few of the planted shrubs died. The owner, Matt Bailey, before the initial work began, guaranteed me work, and indicated that to the extent shrubs died, he would re-plant at no labor cost, and would only charge the pro-rated cost of plants. Well, I have now been communicating with Matt Bailey for two months, and despite being given numerous assurances that the shrubs would be replaced (and that he had the replacement shrubs in his possession), follow up has been non-existent, and he has refused to make good on his guarantee. His lack of communication, and frankly, honesty, has been disappointing and unacceptable.

First of all, we had tried this company out over a period of several years to see if there would be…read morean improvement and because our time needs fluctuated. With more time, we were able to devote more time to lawn care. With less time available, we needed to hire someone one or two seasons in a row, and one or two seasons a few years later. This company seemed to do a good job with our neighbors' property, so we kept giving them a try. However, we were completely unsatisfied, especially this past year. Weeds crept in, there was no fertilizer put down, even before the drought conditions set in, nothing in the cooler late season, and it was IMPOSSIBLE to reach this company on the phone to ask questions!! Impossible!! Left multiple messages over a few weeks' time, with no response. Another few weeks with "Mailbox is Full" messages, with no response. Finally, we wrote a letter to the company stating that we no longer wish to continue their service, and specified invoice numbers, and the fact that they still owed us $40 worth of service or a refund. Well, not only was our letter apparently "unread," but the form letter response did not address any of our specific concerns or questions. Shop around and go with someone else. Other companies may be more expensive, but as far as "bang for your heard-earned dollar," this isn't a good pick.

Safer Nature was hired to perform a bat exclusion at my home in early 2023. Throughout the process,…read morewe continued to hear bats in our attic. There has continued to be bat droppings found as well. The exclusion was "completed" (note: it wasn't) in the Fall of 2023, but we continued to hear noises in the attic. Safer Nature continued to say there is no evidence of bats, which is false. We can hear them moving, chirping, and are still finding bat droppings. The job was never actually completed and Safer Nature says our 1-year warranty is up. How can the warranty period be over if the bats were never actually excluded from our home - not to mention that they didn't "finish" the exclusion until the Fall? How can a warranty period start before work is complete? I do not like to post negatively about local businesses, but bat exclusion is very expensive - Safer Nature never finished the job and refuses to back up their work. I now have to find someone else to do the job correctly, which will cost another significant amount of money Cannot recommend working with this business.

Owner Ryan Potts is only after one thing - your money. After a year of battling bats and 19 visits from this company (yes, 19) we are right where we started with bats in our attic. After contacting the owner yet again about our continued bat problems, the owner told me our 1 year warranty was up. The bats were never eliminated from our attic in the entire 1 year period. He refused to offer any refund or further assistance. Also, I don't know what he deems safer about his approach with wild animal removal. He put out traps of poison for mice and lied about sticky traps for bats.
