J’s Auto Sales & Repair - Play area in waiting room for children

I came in to get my battery swapped. (My husband bought the new battery and jumped my old battery…read moreso I could drive it to the shop.) Took about 45 minutes (not sure how many other customers were they servicing at the same time, but it seemed quiet. I arrived around 9:20am, I paid by 10am and was in my car driving away by 10:20am. A bunch of other customers came in around 9:30-9:45am. The waiting area is large and comfortable, with lots of different seating options (various chairs with arm rests, comfy chairs, benches, a couch, ottoman, etc ) complete with a coffee station (Cafe Bustelo) & chocolates. There is a television where they play Netflix, feels like someone's living room. They also have a play area for children (lots of different toys good for infants and toddlers), a small table and a chalkboard. Perfect for keeping young children occupied for a lengthy wait if necessary- which was helpful as I had my 2.5 year old with me and she had a great time playing with the toys. I paid $60 for the swap, which was $20 more than I was quoted at some other places but honestly the convenience of the waiting area was well worth it. They checked to make sure that it wasn't my alternator causing any issues. They were very nice. I would come back again (but hopefully I don't need to!)

Walked in for an oil change. A few months later, my car was dead…read more I brought my 2009 MINI Cooper, with only about 70,000 miles, to this shop for a routine oil change. Instead, I fell into the trap of agreeing to additional repairs, which are documented in the invoice I've attached. What followed was months of mechanical problems, frustration, additional repairs, and ultimately a vehicle that no longer runs. After the initial repair, I began experiencing problems that had never existed before. I returned to the shop to have the issues addressed, but the vehicle was subsequently returned to me without sufficient engine oil, raising serious concerns about potential engine damage. From that point forward, it was one problem after another: low oil pressure warnings, strange engine noises, additional mechanical failures, and more money spent trying to figure out what had gone wrong. Eventually, the engine gave out completely. My MINI Cooper, with relatively low mileage, is now worthless as a functioning vehicle. I cannot definitively prove that every subsequent failure was caused by this shop's work, but given the timing, the condition in which the vehicle was returned to me, and everything that followed, I have serious concerns about the quality of the repairs performed. I'm attaching the repair invoice so prospective customers can see exactly what I was charged for and draw their own conclusions. I walked in expecting a simple oil change. A few months later, I was left without transportation and facing the financial loss of my car. Please be extremely careful about who you trust with your vehicle, and if I were you, I would not trust this place.

As usual, they did a great job! Meineke refused to honor the warranty on my power steering unit. My…read moresteering wheel would freeze up on the highway. It would only unlock if I gave it the gas but, lately, before I brought it into Frank's, it was even binding when I gave it the gas. It was scary! Dan found that the problem was with the main serpentine belt and replaced it instead of my power steering pump so, apparently, that was the problem. I'm not just writing this because we are cousins through marriage to the Kucharsky family but, because I really do believe it.

They are fast, gets it fixed right the first time everytime, and repair just what you need without ever taking advantage of the customer with excessive repairs. I am extremely grateful for their honesty and ability to keep our cars going. Last time saved me a $800 by referring me to other local garages for a low cost welding job to fix a part, rather than charge for an entire exhaust system that was rusted on but still functional. On top of it all they are extremely pleasant and polite. The brothers have an integrity that is hard to come by today carrying on a family business with pride. I wish all business were like this. Update on 1/31/19: new Yelp algorithm software hides reviews in unrecommended if the reviewers don't write enough reviews for Yelp.
