My truck was having low oil pressure issues for a few weeks. I took it to different dealer locations and their only suggestion was to replace the engine after I paid for a diagnostic. They also said that it could take up to a year to get a new engine. I had only taken my truck to the dealer since I purchased it brand new. I did not want to have to buy a new truck so for the first time I took it to an independent shop for a second opinion. Justin and his crew looked for an engine for me because I was under the impression that was what I needed. After talking it over Justin said there might be another way to go instead of replacing the engine. I was willing to try what he suggested because my alternative was not something I wanted to do unless absolutely necessary. After it was all said and done, instead of waiting 1 year for a motor, 3 weeks - 1 month of leaving my truck at the dealer, and spending around 10-12k, I walked away with 3 days of leaving my truck at the shop and only a fraction of the dealer cost without having to replace the motor. One month later, no problems. The lesson here is finding a honest, knowledgeable, independent mechanic is much more valuable then taking your vehicle to the dealer who's main objective is not to keep your vehicle on the road but to over-bill you and keep the revolving door of vehicles flowing. Honest, fast, friendly, and great price! I got my break routers resurfaced (I think that's what they called it?? Cars are not my forte ) and it came to $176 total when I've heard from friends it cost them $200 or more! Everyone there was friendly and helpful, the mechanic even saw me on the way out and came over because he could recognize just by looking at my breaks how I drive and what I could do to expand the life of my breaks! I read a review about someone going to B and B Auto because their father goes there, but they weren't totally satisfied because they were too busy to work on their car at the time they called. I started going there too because my father told me to go there. My father doesn't like many people or places, lol, but he really likes Kim, his family and his mechanics. I started going to them around seven to eight years ago after my father's suggestion and I won't go anywhere else. B and B Auto are top notch! This shop exceed my expectations on first several contacts, a very nice introduction. Ken took time to educate me on issues of the new used car I brought to them for the "once over," and the shop itself and the phone scheduler were very accommodating. My parents have taken their vehicles to Kim, the owner of B &B, for years and so have my sister and I. Kim is one of the rare ones who will save you money where possible and charges a low price compared to elsewhere. One of the greatest things he does is let you know if something is going to need to be addressed down the road so you can be prepared. He doesn't do unnecessary repairs to make more money. He lets you know if something is not urgent and is very fair . He goes to a place to get his parts that charges less and therefore saves the customers money. He helped us get our car passed for a smog test that was not looking good. He is knowledgeable on any vehicle and truck and actually diagnoses and fixes it flawlessly. He is busy because of his ethical and quality business practices, so call in to make sure he can see you that day. It's a rare day when it may have to wait a day or two. It's a family business and comforting to know that his son, who has worked there for years, will continue the business when that dreaded time comes when Kim wants to retire (hopefully not for years!). As a female, I have had tactics where repair people try to scare you with "safety concerns" such as bad struts that would be unsafe if driving on the freeway (they actually were pretty new) and other made-up, unnecessary repairs. These guys are a bunch of crooks! I brought my Dodge truck there when the engine blew. I didn't know anything about them, but they were in my neighborhood and my regular mechanic recommended them because he couldn't do the job. Big mistake! These guys did not clean the radiator when they had it out, so my truck ran hot afterwards. (They said I refused the radiator cleaning). Also, they said, that my truck would have no problem passing the smog inspection, and if it did, just bring it back. Well, the truck did not pass smog inspection! I brought it back and they blew me off. I had to go to a smog referee. My truck vibrated a great deal after they worked on it. Also, I heard the owner use racial and ethnic slurs when no one else was around. This business should be avoided. read more

This place is GREAT! I highly recommend this repair shop. My fuel pump went out on my husbands Ford F150, he is currently deployed so the repairs were left up to me to handle - sigh. I had the truck first towed to Firestone (my usual place) for repairs but after I received the quote from them, I wanted to call around to compare prices. A friend of mine recommended B & B and I'm so glad he did. B& B did the same repair job for 1/2 the price! My tow truck driver recommended this place, after we were treated like crap by AIWA Auto Repair on Fairmount... B&B was booked but took the time to fix my truck and I had it back by noon. Dropped it off at 830 AM.. they even offered me a ride back home after I dropped it off... This was my second time having service done to my 2011 Honda Pilot by B and B Auto Repair. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt it necessary. Integrity and Excellence are the two words I would use to describe this shop. It's so refreshing to know honest mechanics still exist. They serviced my Pilot in a timely manner, as well as kept the costs more than reasonable. I just had a front and rear brake service done and my Pilot now brakes better than it did when it was brand new. The front office manager is also very friendly and competent. I had taken my Jeep Grand Cherokee to two dealerships in San Diego. Both told me that my rotors were warped and had to be reconditioned and that my brake pads were at 30% and needed to be replaced. They quoted close to $400 to do the job. I was then given the name of B and B Auto Repair with high recommendation. I called them and spoke to Stefano who was polite, helpful, and very informative and was able to offer a price less than half of that of the dealerships. B & B was able to accommodate my schedule since I live far from the shop. I left the car and received a call from them promptly indicating that my brakes definitely DID NOT need to be replaced at this time as there was definitely way more than 30 percent remaining on the pads. While they indicated that the rotors could be reconditioned, they suggested I wait until the pads need to actually be replaced. I met with the owner Kim and his son, Justin when I picked up the car and thanked them for their HONEST assessment. It is nice to find a shop which values its customers and is honest about repairs not needing to be done. I will DEFINITELY be taking my Jeep to B & B in the future no matter how far the drive. This in the only place I refer family and friends. The owners are so nice, they will take the time to explain their recommendations and all the work they perform and do not pressure their clients. THE MOST HONEST SHOP YOU WILL FIND. They are very busy because they are so good. I have a 66 mustang that was built by their motor guy. B & B did the install and all the adjustments, new exhaust, custom throttle linkage, head work, and much more. I could not be happier with their work. The shop next door rebuilt my C4 transmission and did a wonderful job. I recently had the top end of my girlfriend's 2000 Honda civic rebuilt here. They did the head work, new head gasket, water pump, timing chain, all new hoses. distributor, plugs, and more The work ended up being half the cost of what Hontech quoted me. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. If you have a vintage vehicle this is the place to take it. Every time I visit I see very high end vintage cars being worked on here.
