Carissa at Azure is a phenomenal colorist. She is knowledgeable, professional and works with her clients to achieve their goals. She has been coloring my hair for the past year and at this point I trust her completely. If I have a goal, she can explain the steps and number of treatments to achieve that goal. Carissa is not your average colorist. Her skill and complex knowledge is so valuable. Recently I decided I wanted to go from my current dark red, to a medium to might blonde. She carefully explained that this is a multi treatment process and what I could expect from each treatment. With so much red to lift, she also gave me additional options and recommendations that I hadn't even thought of. She seriously thinks about every detail, your skin tone, the color you have had previously, the health of your hair, etc. She values your time and will let you know what to expect. Azure stands alone as a swanky, sexy, salon (seriously, yay Boise!), but it's awesomeness is compounded by Mr. Tod Alan who is a rockstar hair stylist. I've been following Tod around town for 15 years --- I lived in Dallas and flew home to get my hair done, he's that good --- but am happy he's found his home at Azure. The atmosphere is chic & artsy, but not stuffy. Service is great, I've even seen stylists holding their client's babies while their color sets (I'm not advocating bringing your child to your hair appointment, this is the only quiet time some of us moms get), but still, they go above & beyond. I'm so glad I found this terrific salon! Great location, cool vibe, and friendly people. There is an adjacent free parking lot, but it does fill up a bit around lunchtime. I had a midafternoon appointment, so parking was no problem. This review is especially about Carissa Stevens. She is such a talented colorist! She really took her time getting to know what I wanted to achieve with my color, discussed the options with me, then got started with my transformation. She absolutely exceeded my expectations! My grays are completely blended away, and I have beautiful balyage highlights. I could not be happier with the results. I have been a client of Colette Hood's for 4 years. The compliments on the style and color shades she gives me as a natural blonde, that I hear from friends and even complete strangers on the street, is a constant testimony that she she knows what she is doing and goes beyond just a typical cut and highlight to make me look my best. Kevin is fabulous with hair. My girlfriend was getting tired of my long hair, and believe me it was long. Usually i just have a friend do a buzz cut, because every time i go to a salon or barber shop they butcher my hair, i always come out looking like some kinda of freak. Kevin is the first male stylist i have had. To be honest i will never have a female cut my hair again. Kevin did an excellent job. I showed him a quick 15 second video of me with short hair from around a year ago and he matched the hair perfectly. Not to mention he is a blast to have a conversation with. Azure has treated me great!!!! Gabe worked his magic on my hair and my girls. He did a great job at showing me a new style and making it easy for me since I was not about high maintenance but wanted it to look good. I wanted to do something nice for my love (guys take note) and called Desiree she made it simple took care of everything so I could have my girl just show up and get spoiled. Again Gabe took care of us and did her make up and hair for a night on the town and WOW she looked amazing!!! I went here after trying for a few years of looking for a good stylist in the Treasure Valley. I have "salt and pepper" hair and am over 40... so I wanted something that fit me. I called the studio, explained my situation, and they connected me to Chad Robinson. It was a great match. He is a nice guy, listens to what I want, and is very talented. We have lived all over the country and in my experience men seem to give the better hair cuts. Nothing against women stylists, I was one years ago, but in my experience they tend to take things a lot more seriously. Chad is sometimes running behind, but the wait is worth it. read more

Absolutely one of the most beautiful salons in Boise. The atmosphere is super urban, but very calming. Amazing design - way to go! I have had two appointments on two occasions; one for myself, and one for my daughter. My daughter's color was the most beautiful chocolate brown with two low-lights of violet and a darker brown - it is stunning! Mine is blonde, and by far one of the best weaves I have ever had anywhere - and I have been to some of the best stylist in the country. I HIGHLY recommend Azure! Awesome salon! Everyone is so nice, especially Colette. She honestly gives one of the best men's haircuts around. She really takes her time to listen to what you need and make sure she gives you the perfect cut every time.
