I love living in Azure apartments in Petaluma. I am in a townhouse and I really love the layout. It's great to have a garage at the bottom ( I have one of the really large garages). Then the next floor up is the living room dining room kitchen area with a balcony. I like the open plan. There is also a gas fireplace for the winter. Then on the top floor there are two very nice size bedrooms and two bathrooms and a washer and dryer. I like having no one above me or below me. I really love being located literally next door to Rocky Memorial dog park as it overlooks Schollenberger park . I walk there a lot. And there is an entrance to Schollenberger behind the apartment complex. Schollenberger is so beautiful. It is a protected area. I walk there almost everyday. There are swans, geese, ducks, seabirds, jackrabbits, a variety of wild birds, turkey vultures and more. You can't put a price on that. Starbucks is within walking distance as are a few restaurants. The complex itself has two pools and two hot tubs and two mini gyms. There is also a small enclosed dog park on the premises. This is a very dog friendly complex if you have a dog and it's wonderful being so close to all these places to walk your dog. The maintenance people are very quick to take care of things for your apartment or townhouse. The complex has a good variety of different apartments and townhouses to rent. The complex is also not far from a freeway exit which is great if you need to commute. There are grocery stores within a 5-minute drive and some restaurants and shops. The location is perfect. It's not a far drive from downtown either. I also feel very safe in the complex. It's nice to be able to go in and get a coffee or tea in the office when they are open. You can also print black and white for free In the main office. I mostly deal with Chris and Daniel in the office who are fantastic. They are very personable and helpful. Wendy, the manager is very nice. Lauren, the assistant manager is nice too. They also bring in food trucks you can purchase lunches at at least every other weekend. A lot of the residents really like that. read more

We toured multiple apartment complexes and provided our information/what we were looking for to everyone of them. When we reached out to Azure, we were helped by Daniel. He was wonderful to work with. Unfortunately they didnt have something that fit exactly what were looking for and he said he would reach back out if anything came up(I've heard that before) To my astonishment, Daniel reached out with a unit that checked off every box for what we would find most comfortable. He was incredibly attentive and helped address all of my concerns. The whole team assisted us throughout this process - both Chris and Wendy answered my calls when Id reach out with questions or concerns if Daniel wasnt around. The unit is also incredibly clean and the kitchen is beautiful with a ton of cabinet space. The tall ceilings make a huge difference in the overall feeling. I have enjoyed living at Azure The staff (especially JJ and Chris - and Dan who did rental) are remarkably helpful. They responded immediately to all queries. JJ especiially helpful since I oldee and needed support. I also loved the year round heated pool. Hated Lakeville hiway but also enjoyed Shollenberger park for bike rides. Paid a deposit and they charge you for the upgrade of paint after you leave. They changed the color from the apartment I used to leave on and they charged me for that also for a stove that was already broken. Recommend to list every little detail when you get the keys, before you get the keys I should say every single detail every corner everything read more

What a difference a change in leadership can make! Shout out to Wendy and crew. The hallways are being cleaned, the sidewalks washed, community events like the Halloween event and Taco Trucks on site Saturday are just what this community needed to breathe life into a previously boring, kinda dingy complex. The pools/hot tubs are clean, common room looks great, I personally watched the Amazon delivery folks taking great care with packages, considering theft is a huge problem by residents from residents... I didn't think I'd stay, but I just might! read more

Nice office staff. Happy about central AC. Very difficult parking after 4pm. Chronic Mold and mildew problem. Severe package theft even in the locked package room, and they won't put in cameras. Ground floor unit = repeat plumbing problems; black ring in the toilet every 48 hours. One pool has been closed the entire two + years we've lived here. read more

Friendly staffs and respectful. I have been here for 2 years now, everything I need is here close by, close to the freeway, gym, nails salons, massage parlor, lashes salon, and new Vietnamese restaurant. I feel save living here, people who live here are responsible and respectful to one another. The fire alarm and sprinkler heads inspection conducted yearly to ensure everything is working properly. Last but not least I want to thanks to all the maintenance crews, especially one name J.J, he went above and beyond, to make sure that everything is ok before he leaves after he get the job done. I just wanted to take a moment to give a big thank-you for the maintenance work that was completed this afternoon by Moose he was in the right place at the right time. I had just opened my door and he happened to be walking by. My toilet was leaking badly he said it was a good thing that I caught it early, and he'll "take care of it right away give me a couple minutes to gather my tools". He actually had to remove the whole toilet. I was in disbelief that he took care of it so fast. I also have minor work orders which he took care of. The guy was super friendly, respectful, and just really helpful. He explained what he was doing, made sure everything worked before he left, and didn't make a big fuss about anything. It's rare these days to find someone who takes that kind of initiative and pride in their work. He really went above and beyond, and I so appreciate it. I just moved into azure apartments and when I arrived there were already several maintenance problems (electrical, plumbing, aesthetic) from move in. When I tell you that maintenance were on it they were ON IT. Moose and Perry have come to my rescue and have been there every step of the way ensuring that these problems were fixed immediately and to my liking. Moose has gone above and beyond the call of duty ensuring I am satisfied with the fixes and at ease in a new place. They have fixed the problems to the point I hardly even remember they were ever there! If I could give each of them 10 more stars I would. They always call before hand, and treat my new home with the same respect and care as their own. I couldn't be happier to have these guys on my team making sure everything is running smoothly. read more

Be prepared to have your car broken into when you are parked in the reserved spot. You will have to feel unsafe and leave the car in public with broken window until you fix the window. There is no security agent walking around and the place will not have a parking garage unit you can use while you are waiting for the car to get fixed. Also be prepared to pay over $1100 for minor wear and tear when you move out. The landlord will refuse to cover any expense that should be covered as turnover cost when you paid more than $2400 per month. There is a reason why the deposit is only $100. I suspect that the landlord has been through multiple small claim court about deposit issues. If you look up the business under California Secretary of State, Sequoia equities' SOS standing is not good meaning that they likely have been suspended. read more

Please read before you lease here: I rented for 2 years and couldn't wait to leave. 2 stars is for the kitchen being upgraded nicely. You can hear absolutely everything from inside your unit (semi trucks 24/7, loud anytime fitness members blasting music pulling up to gym at all hours, cars honking, loud exhausts, lots of door slamming, even talking through thin walls). It was so loud here, I was in contact with Noise Ordinance with the city to get help but they basically are not able to do anything. I also spoke with the manager, Tina, about this and she is completely out of touch with reality stating that she had never heard a complaint about the road or Anytime Fitness noise. Who on earth decided to put a 24/7 gym next to an apartment... the gym members are SO loud and disrespectful, I barely slept while living here. The chicken factory next door smells ABSOLUTELY disgusting so you can't even air out your apartment. There have been days that I am gagging just taking my dog outside and on several occasions saw chicken bones and rob cages scattered around the property from the seagulls the inhabit this area. Cars are broken into here and packages are constantly missing or being stolen!!! Management will do nothing and there is no security patrolling here. The complex has landscapers every single Tuesday and the retail center has landscapers every Thursday so get ready to be woken up by leaf blowers at 7 am multiple times per week (and sometimes they came even earlier, which is illegal, so we called the police on multiple occasions). The freezer/ water dispenser had tested positive for mold after I was sick for months and was in ER multiple times before we figured out what the cause was. Outrageous utility bills here and it continued to climb the whole time I leased here even when I was on vacation for weeks and not using gas/ electric/ water etc the price was even higher! (PGE started around $40 and climbed all the way over $100 my last month here) Neighbors are okay...but most of them are night owls. I constantly heard laundry machines going or even vacuums in the middle of the night. There is also a ton of door slamming that goes on here. Sometimes door slamming is so loud it has shaken my unit and even popped my front door open when it was unlocked. Neighbors also refuse to follow the valet garbage rule and always leave their black trash bins in the hallways. There are SO MANY DOGS here and despite having "poo prints" DNA testing, there is dog poop literally everywhere. I basically stepped in poop once a week for two years. It was awful and gross. This complex is built on marshland and frequently shifts the building so doors do not close properly. On and off through my time living here I couldn't even lock my back door due to the shifting being so drastic. This leads to more noise coming into unit... plus, really cold draft comes through and drops the apartment temperature below 60 at night. The older maintenance guy is constantly smoking cigarettes while riding his golf cart around and both times he entered my unit the smell was noticeable and gross. Fire alarms go off constantly!! EVERY Morning, during the day, night.... Literally all the time. You would never ever know if there was a real fire. If you're on the third floor, your bathroom fan will turn on every single time someone around you in running their own fan. It didn't bother me at first but it was horrible the last year. It's pretty loud and would come on at least 30 times per day. Even with the door closed you can hear the fan running from the living room. read more

I've lived at Azure for the past 3 years and I have nothing but positive things to say. Everyone is so helpful, and the neighbors are great. There isn't much sound transfer from apartment to apartment, which is wonderful! Every time I've had a service request, it's done quickly and done well. Just an update note - another perk I have found is, while I have a cat but not a dog, I can always go over to our enclosed dog park, park myself(!) on a bench and watch the dogs play and romp. Proven fact animals lower blood pressure so if you have a challenging day, you can always divert watching the dogs bounce back and forth having a great time. All the staff, office and maintenance continue to be five stars plus - such a team. They are professional, friendly and super efficient in responding and I appreciate each and every one. read more

I have enjoyed my stay here at Azure for past 2 yrs. It is a friendly and kind community. I have not had much experience in apartment living and sometimes it can be challenging. The Azure team is helpful and supportive. Recently I moved to an upgraded unit. During this transition Chris helped me. He has outstanding customer service skills, is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field. Also I can't forget the maintenance experts, Alex, Perry and Jose. The Azure apartment team were super accommodating for our somewhat strange situation of needing a 4-month lease term while we were waiting for our house to be constructed. We have dogs and short term lease plus dogs left us with only a couple options in Petaluma. Azure was definitely the top place for us and we really like it! The dog park in the facility is nice and well attended by neighbors. Everyone has been very friendly. Also, The Rocky Memorial Dog Park less than a block away is amazing!!! People drive from far around to come here and we get to just walk out our front door to an amazing wide-open grassy doggy wonderland. The maintenance team at Azure is superb! Everyone is super friendly, responsive and professional! Moose, Alex and the rest of the team keeps this place going and Chris was a pleasure to work with throughout the lease process! The maintenance staff gets five stars in my book. Every time we have an issue they basically show up immediately after we submit a request. Recently had a water heater issue and JJ was there almost before I even hung up the phone. Taking one star off because of some recurring property crime issues in the area that have been impacting tenants, some dead trees that seem like a hazard, and a slight lack of attention paid to the maintenance of the dog park (it's basically just dirt with some wood chips sprinkled around at this point). read more

I really liked living in this apartment until today, when my car was broken into and the response I received from the management was firm no there is nothing we can do for you. There apparently is no security camera and no security on standby. A representative told me that she will let the courtesy patrol know. No acknowledgement of the danger to my safety or possibility of recurrence was mentioned. I moved here after living in Benicia with the same management, which has been really good to me. I am extremely disappointed by the management and the interaction I had today. read more

We lived here for 12+ years until we were lucky enough to buy our home in Petaluma. I have to give a shout out to the management team at Azure; Tina and Angela. The office, and maintenance staff are all awesome too. I am writing this because I believe good employees and customer service is so hard to come by these days and when people do a good job they need to be recognized. Living in apartments can be challenging at times, people are close together, there are different personalities and life happens. Because management is consistent at Azure, you are able to build relationships with the staff and everyone works together. I really enjoyed my time there, and have many happy memories raising my daughter at Azure. I don't hesitate to recommend Azure. They are the best apartment complex in Petaluma and it is run by competent, adults who get people need to live there. They take pride in their work and the complex and they were always good to me and my family. read more

So I have literally lived in Azure 3x in my lifetime. Lol. I guess that says it all. When my partner and I see given death threats at another apartment complex in town (won't say where) Azure allowed us to move in ASAP. We loved here a year and it was great but I got sick with a neurological disorder and moved into my moms place to help with things. After a year of that we moved back. I was in better health. We stayed for 2-3 years the next time during COVID which was handled very well here. They did online art courses for all residents and things that kept me from going insane. I really appreciated that. My partner and I were getting ready to actually leave the state and left to my moms again for what was supposed to be a brief stint but things did not work out. I ended up getting a much better job than I could have expected and we decided to stay. Well we decided to move back. I am not on my 4th or 5th year in 3 separate apartments and I would say all of them have their charm. Right now we are in a 2 bedroom where I have a room to use as my office. This is probably the safest apartment complex in Petaluma. Despite a few people having isolated incidents I have never felt my safety as a gay man being threatened which I can not say for other locations at the exact same price. Anyhow. I was just checking my apartments hours to pick up a package and saw a comment about safety and I wanted to rebuke that with a my antidotal story about being safe. You do not need to worry about much living here :) I feel the staff is like my friends people I se regularly and if I have a question about anything they are always super responsive. The only thing I wish we had and thus is not the apartment complex job to do is that we had a shopping complex closer to us. That would be nice but there is shollenberg which I run about 3 miles from my door around the loop and back to my door Daily. I mean where else do you have a 3 Mile loop right outside your door? With this much beauty? Nowhere. I wouldn't have moved here 3 times if it wasn't worth it! read more

We had our water heater conk out on Easter Day. We called maintenance and they came right over. They weren't able to fix it until Monday but Alex showed up first thing, fixed it within an hour and we now have hot water. We really love living here. It used to be a nice place to live. In June 2016, Sequoia property management took over when Azure sold, and now the property is poorly maintained and they are harassing tenants to follow the letter of the lease. This past month Sequoia decided to start enforcing rules like no attached wind chimes, no non outdoor furniture, no 5 gallon propane grills, no string lights, and more off our private balconies. All that stuff has been on my balcony for 3 years, the whole time i've lived here. I just renewed my lease for the 3rd time, and had i known they were going to start micromanaging us, I would not have renewed my lease last in October 2016. Now I'm stuck living here for 11 more months. And in the 7 months since Sequoia had been managing the property, the hot tub has been unfit for use on 4 separate occasions, garbage dumpster and garbage cans are over flowing with trash, the dog poop areas run out of poop bags, and there are cigarette butts on the no smoking property. The previous maintenance crew wore uniforms so you knew they were employees of the property and they got to know the tenants by name and said hi to us when they saw us walking around the property. Broken things were addressed the same day. However, when Sequoia took over, they fired everyone who knew the tricks to running the property, no uniforms, no cordial greeting, and you're lucky if they fix it right the first time. If you are going to renew your lease, I suggest you read the entire thing before signing your freedoms away. If you are looking for an "Elevated experience", I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

If I had the option to give a negative star, I would have preferred to do so. I hate bad mouthing and do not give reviews until the situation is extremely good or bad. Azure Apartment in Petaluma gave me one of the most horrible move out experiences one could ever give. 1. So, we got the apartment pre-move out inspection done and the charges were way higher than it should be. Upon having words with the management, they did not agree to have a re-inspection and said the, "charges were high because furniture were there in the apartment and this was worst case scenario estimation. It can likely go down if you clean the apartment". BTW it was Chris whom I spoke to. 2. After we moved out living for barely 6 months in total, we got a statement having cleaning cost of $430 alone. Not to mention, we did clean the apartment (not to the extent as it was handed over to us) but I am confident to share the pictures in a condition we left. 3. Upon talking to another leasing agent, Angela, she reduced the cost of painting the walls to half the amount and now handed over an invoice which summed up to a total cleaning cost of $465. Upon asking this is not making any sense, she said, "we forgot to attach the invoice in the email we sent earlier and yes even after sending out final closing statement to the residents, we could have charged you more, because that's what we got from the vendor". This seriously gave me trust issues for not having to attach the vendor statement earlier, with our closing statement in the first mail. Imagine you are done with your payment and closed the account but after months later, you are getting an email saying, "Hey, we messed up and you have to pay another $100" In conclusion, this whole system lied to us for throwing us with a wrong, overpriced estimate and upon wanting to have a re-inspection or even considering the overall cleaning cost, the response we got was, "We apologize but will try to make our training better". WTF should I do about that? I have moved to almost 5 different apartments in different states but never had such a horrific experience before. I would not recommend this place at all because they loot you, in front of you. Also, for any future movers, their apartment walls are so thin that we could hear little girl walking or jumping, on the floor above. read more

In the hopes this helps others, here are things I wish I'd known before making the decision to move here: - Vehicles keep getting broken into. - Packages and oversized mail get delivered either to your door, a mailroom, or a package room, depending on size and carrier, so tracking them down can be difficult. - If you live anywhere near the roofing company, your patio will be covered in ash-like residue. So will your vehicle. So will the entire inside of your unit and all your belongings if you dare open your window. - The semis are nonstop day and night. Non. Stop. You cannot hear over them when they pass by, even when you're inside your unit. Good luck on your zoom calls. - Pot/cigarette/wildfire/neighbors cooking smells will fill the inside of your unit, apparently due to the way the air ducts operate. Even with your windows closed and the hvac off. - The breezeways are made of cement, and doors apparently of metal. They're loud and echo anytime anyone opens or closes doors (poor design) but if you have a neighbor who parties late, insists on carrying on loud and inappropriate conversations on speakerphone, and slamming the door all hours of the day and night, be prepared to not be able to do anything about the lack of peace. It wakes myself, guests, and the pet up with a jolt multiple times per day/night. It appears there's nothing management can do to encourage residents to be respectful of this. Overall the staff is extremely responsive and friendly, the grounds are well maintained, and the units are well built and maintained, but there's only so much dirt, semi traffic/noise, and disrespectful neighbors a person can take for what it costs to live here. read more

I've lived here for 5 and a half years (and counting) and am very happy I call Azure my home. One of the best perks, they allow pets which is very hard to find within the renting community. I've seen a lot of reviews saying that for the price of rent that we pay, we could get a small house, duplex or something different. Here's the thing- most places like small houses or duplexes don't allow pets, there are no upgraded features, doesn't come with key appliances, etc. the list goes on! Recently we decided to upgrade apartments into a renovated unit. The unit has a lots of upgraded features, in-unit laundry, no carpet in the main rooms (only bedrooms), has on site maintenance and the amenities (pre-covid) such as the pool and gym are a total plus. The leasing team at Azure was so accommodating to the request to upgrade and fast acting with showing us a new unit at an affordable price and getting us approved and ready to go! I will say, the only downside I feel worth mentioning is the parking situation, especially if you have more than one car (and most households do). You are allotted one space with your apartment and if you work past 6pm, good luck finding a visitor space, you'll probably have to find street parking. I find this situation so annoying we are now going to pay for an extra allotted space just to know we have somewhere to park. But in the grand scheme, it's just a small issue. We are so looking forward to the the upgrade and happy to still be calling Azure home. read more

My husband and I, along with our children, lived in the Azure apartments for almost three years and have had a very enjoyable experience. The office staff is very friendly and very attentive to any maintenance requests we've submitted. The amenities are well kept, and our kids have made good use of the park and pool during the summer. The only things to note would be * the water bill: the way it is calculated is unusual and yields a higher than normal bill for most residents. * security: during our time at Azure they went through a couple security companies, with times of no service. Both of our cars were vandalized (keyed/dented), and one broken into. I believe this has been mitigated since. Overall, I would recommend to anyone considering. read more
