I truly consider it a blessing that I had my surgery with Dr. Lee at CCRS 14 years ago, and I am deeply grateful. When it comes to my eyes, it's not something I would trust easily to just anyone. It naturally makes me anxious. But throughout the entire surgery, Dr. Lee made me feel completely at ease and gave me absolute confidence that my eyes were in the best hands. That confidence meant everything to me. Recently, I started wondering if everything was still okay after all these years, so I visited Dr. Lee again and had a full check-up for the first time in a long time. I was so happy to confirm that my eyes are still in excellent condition. While I was there, I also received a treatment to help with dryness, and it has improved significantly - amazing results! Over the years, whenever I visited other eye clinics for minor issues like styes or general eye problems, doctors would look into my eyes and almost always ask the same question: "Where did you get your ICL surgery? It was done so beautifully." I was told that in about 5-6 years, when presbyopia starts, there is a procedure to replace the lens. I believe it's called "Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)"? When that time comes, I will absolutely - without any doubt - come back to CCRS for that surgery as well. And both in the past and now, Ms. Gina has always been incredibly kind and wonderful, just the same as ever. All of the staff are consistently kind and caring as well. I am truly thankful to everyone.

Once I got into the surgery room, I got more numbing drops and surgery started right away. I was done with both eyes in like 30 minutes. I could see right away but was very sensitive to light and couldn't see up close since my eyes were dilated. I came back the next day for a follow up and everything went great. I highly recommend this! Literally no down time and painless. The staff and doctor were all friendly.

My friend had SMILE done by Dr. Lee about 9 months before I began diving seriously into the procedures. I met with 2 other clinics, but ultimately chose CCRS because of the fact that my fiance and I met with Dr. Lee during the consultation itself. He stayed with us for almost an hour to walk me through my options and his recommendations. He appeared to be intelligent, empathic, humorous, and above all, he was straight with me. Other clinics with a dedicated marketing operations team are a lot more sales-y, so I felt more comfortable with Dr. Lee, and all my appointments have been so streamlined and efficient. I was a good candidate for either SMILE or LASIK, but based on my preferences for longevity, I went with LASIK. Paperwork and pre-procedure instructions were sent to me in advance, and overall I think it went smoothly! I wasn't bothered at all by the lasers as I knew what to expect. I'm currently on days 5-6 of recovery and will be seeing Dr. Lee in another follow-up appointment next week. My vision continues to fluctuate a bit but that's a normal part of healing. My fiance is also interested in getting his refractive surgery done by Dr. Lee, and I recommended a family friend to him recently too. CCRS has free parking onsite, located nearby excellent Korean food, and facilities are super clean. Staff are friendly and highly efficient. So far, I'm happy with my results, which I hope will continue to improve.

During pre-op, they were careless and injured my eye, which caused me a lot of pain and to miss work for a week. When I asked Dr. Shammas to look at my eye because something was wrong, he told me to let him do his job and I should do mine. Then he told me that I had a "softness" on my eye and we would need to reschedule surgery. I was in so much pain that I had to go to urgent care the next day and then to see an ophthalmologist a couple days later, and was informed I had a corneal abrasion. To make matters worse, Dr. Shammas had put a contact lens in my eye to help it heal, but the lens was torn, further worsening the injury. I took Laser Eye Center to small claims court, but since I had signed an unfair agreement absolving them of all liability, the case was dismissed and I was unable to recover my out of pocket expenses. I would not recommend Laser Eye Center to anyone. They just take your money and do as many surgeries as they can in a day. Go see a real doctor instead.

I researched ICLs quite extensively before choosing to do this surgery because I wanted to make…read moresure I was informed, especially after reading of some cases that didn't go well. I visited 2 other clinics in LA, one that was quite famous, and one that was a bit more modest. From the first one, I was wary of the extremely profit/business-driven mentality of both the surgeon and all his staff (that's just how they came across in my opinion), and while the latter was nice, they seemed a bit less top-notch in skill (they seemed experienced enough with Lasik, but less so with ICLs). I got so tired of overthinking the whole thing that I took a break from searching and considered sticking with contacts/glasses. Then, one day my mindset shifted to be less overwhelmed by the idea, and I searched online and happened to stumble upon IQ as being a place that was reviewed to be good to their patients and good with communicating, etc. And from my first visit onwards, I can confirm this is true. I was struck with how they had the best of the two other clinics I mentioned: the first one's expertise and the heart of the second. The whole team at IQ is very professional, yet also very humane, and they were never pushy with me. They finally helped me feel ready to go for it, and not by manipulating me, but simply by being open and ready to answer any questions I had in a very neutral and fair way. I also have to give a shoutout to Danielle, the consultant/counselor (she's like a liason to help explain the overall procedure+cost to you before you speak with the surgeon) - she's genuinely great. I'm now 5 months into living with ICLs - the actual surgery site healed early on - and I can actually say it was worth it. It's admittedly a pretty expensive procedure in general, but I have to say, if you can do it - it's so comfortable and convenient, and I am so grateful that the team was so meticulously careful with their measurements and that it all went well. Our eyes are such a crucial part of the body that I really feared the worst case scenario with mismanagement, but IQ did great. I waited to review bc I wanted to make sure my results were stable. I will update if anything changes, but so far, very good. On seeing haloes - for me specifically, I have truly a lot less of this effect than I anticipated; it really depends on the angle and is pretty negligible for me and my lifestyle needs. Most of the time, I don't have any ! (Maybe it could vary depending on different eyes, though - don't know.) Before, I was overall very cautious about whether ICLs were a good/worthwhile thing to do, but now being on the other side, I'm converted ! I think it has advanced enough to where a good surgeon (IQ has more than one on staff, btw - I had Dr. Patrick) and clinic can do a great job, because that's what I received ! On top of that, I love the San Marino location - so close by. This review is 100% not sponsored, and they did not ask me to do this, I'm doing it on my own! I really dislike it when clinics these days ask their patients to give high reviews if it doesn't accurately represent the place. To the team at IQ: please keep up the great work and keep what's great about your practice. I feel like it can be sometimes a rare find to find medical teams, especially with more optional services like these, who really are conscientious and trustworthy. Thank you again!

Currently 2 weeks post lasik and my vision is SO MUCH BETTER. I had Danielle as my lasik rep and she made everything understandable and answered our questions w/great explanations. Originally I wanted to come in for my consult due to my farsightedness and high astigmatism but my dad also ended up joining me last minute LOL and the team at SM location tried their best to accommodate him despite their busy schedule - MEGA THANKS! With some back and forth testing to see whether we qualified for the procedure, we did have to visit the City of Industry location a couple of times since they had a specific machine for dilation that the SM location did not have. In the end I ended up having my surgery there and it was a breeze! I also saw both Dr. Grace and Dr. Nguyen as my optometrists - both amazing and honest drs. Literally told me as it is, and reassured me that post surgery, it would take awhile for me to readjust due to my past prescription. SURGERY DAY; went in, got retested to be sure, got to meet my surgeon & the assistants- Dr. Lin- super nice man), just a bit of loud machinery noise and burning smell but both eyes were zapped and done within 20 minutes. I was able to literally open my eyes post procedure, although blurry, but with no issues. Got my handy clear eye covers and had my eyes closed for the rest of day. You WILL have a high sensitivity to light so make sure you have your sunglasses to wear and eye drops! Thank you to the amazing team at IQ! At 41, I've started to think that advancements in eye correction technology are much more promising than what has been available in the past. Surgery can be a daunting experience, especially when it involves your eyes. However, I encourage you to try the "Evo ICL" it's safe and has improved since last year. One of the best parts about this procedure is that if you're not satisfied with the results, or if a better option comes along, you can reverse the treatment. So, there's really no major risk if it doesn't work out. I qualified for the "Evo" ICL, and while I had my doubts at first, I've learned that patience is key when adjusting to a new way of seeing. Along with eye drops to aid the healing process, I found that after about three months, my eyes began to coordinate and adjust. What was once a constant dependency on glasses is now improving, and I'm starting to feel more normal without them. It's funny; I still find myself touching my face to lift imaginary glasses that no longer exist--it's just a habit! I highly recommend this option to anyone who wants to change their vision, whether it's for practical reasons, like gaming without glasses or to keep up with future technologies like AI glasses. As technology continues to advance, my previous vision issues made it difficult to enjoy some of these innovations. This procedure has truly helped me.
