Drove from Downtown Long Beach over the bridge to San Pedro, right on Western and a little past Palos Verdes Drive, I arrived at this coffee house and churreria. If you weren't looking for it, its very possible to miss it this little storefront. Although, it already brightens up the block with its colorful mexican paint scheme. Walking inside, I could already see the attention to detail in celebrating mexican culture. There is art all over the place and the colors and wood do make you feel of beautiful mexico. Going up to the counter to order, they have a great deal of coffee drinks with mexican flavors from cafe de olla to different flavored cafe lattes to mexican hot chocolates. one of the reasons I came her was to satisfy my churro cravings. And they offer so many different types of churros. I opted for the the more traditional churros and they were amazingly delicious They come to like 5 or 6 in a box. I got my coffees and my churros and made my way to their back patio. This is such a magical place to sit and relax and enjoy your food and drinks. It is very peaceful. There are colorful mexican papel picado strewn across the top decorating the open air patio area. I really felt like I was in Mexico for a moment in time. The reason I did not get 5 stars and only gave 4 is they list their churros as traditional but they do not offer melted chocolate to dip their churros in. They do have other flavors but not melted chocolate. It is very odd to me that in Barcelona I can get churros and melted chocolate all day, but go to a place that represents Mexico that invented chocolate and adopted the Spanish churro you would think its a no brainer. Unfortunately, many mexican churrerias opt for using cheap nestle or hershey chocolate syrup to drizzle over churros and that is disappointing to me and does a disservice to "traditional" churros and the land that invented chocolate.

This is my second review of Azucanela! Got the guava & hibiscus refresher - yum!!! I would order this again. Came here on a weekday morning (just before noon) and it ended up being a perfect place to study: quiet, strong wifi, and plenty of parking. I'm excited to try more of their food menu items- everything I've had so far has been very tasty!!

Excellent location with phenomenal staff and delicious coffee / food! As a long time fan of Cafe de Olla, my dad found this spot and had been wanting to go for a long time. What I loved about this spot is seeing your traditional Mexican drinks with a vegan twist! We both got Cafe de Ollas with Almond Milk or Oat Milk. Absolutely delicious. These were not sweet and were filled with just delicious flavor! Then we ordered the churros which were vegan. Don't let that fool you - they were by far the best churros I've had. They were full of flavor and the right amount of sweetness. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We can't wait to be back!

This place always pops up late night when I'm looking for desserts. I treated my son to a treat the night before his wisdom tooth removal. This place is so cute & charming . The churros are made fresh so be patient. The girl suggested the churro bites with strawberry & Nutella. Wow that hit the spot & the perfect size to share. I will definitely return and maybe try something different..

I was thrilled when this place opened not far from us. After several visits, I am definitely a huge fan of the churros. They are made to order and it is excellent! I wish the coffee was on par.. The coffee is too sweet and too weak for my taste. Will keep coming for the churros though.

Love this place! Can't believe it's taken me this long to stop by. Love the ambience and the music the churros are the best we've had.

Had to drop off my brother at SoFi Stadium and wanted to find a place to get some work done before heading home. Saw this place had caffeine options and was sold! PARKING: Literally just one or two spaces in front of the shop. Definitely go into the neighborhood to park then walk over. WHAT I ORDERED: Iced horchata latte THE DRINK: Pretty standard - the espresso wasn't mindblowing or anything, but this was a delicious latte and I'd definitely order it again. SERVICE: Very friendly and willing to answer questions. VIBES: GREAT vibes! It was a little cold when I went so I didn't sit in the outdoor area, but it's gorgeous and super aesthetic - would be nice to hang with some friends there. The inside is a bit more intimate, but there are outlets and wifi which make it great for working. BOTTOM LINE: I'll be back next time I'm in the area, especially to try their famous churros!

Cute restaurant, very colorful. The churro donut was good. Very sweet, worth a try. But the wait time is long because it is fresh to order and I don't think it's worth 12$ Strawberry horchata is good too, not too strong on the strawberry flavor and couldn't really taste cinnamon either. Very mild, that could be a pro or a con. Overall 3.5. Ambience makes it a 4!

Best coffee ever! I'm happy there's an Azucanela closer to my house now. The mazapan latte with soy milk is my go to! It's AMAZING...like best coffee I've ever had amazing. I wish this place opened earlier in the day so I could stop by before work. The woman who made my coffee this morning was lovely. The seating and outdoor area is cute...this is a great place for pictures. They have tasty pastries and a cute atmosphere. Don't be discouraged by the outside. You drive by it fast and it looks like it wouldn't be much but there's parking behind the building and it's a beautiful little gem when you walk inside! I would come here every day if I could.

Super cozy vibes with great customer service and delicious churros!!! Today was our first visit and although we got it to go, we sat in the car and ate half before we headed home. Today we got the churros with ice cream with marshmallow, chocolate drizzle and candied walnuts. When we went there was plenty of street parking, but I believe there is parking in the back as well. We have planned our next visit (tomorrow, yes open on Labor Day) with the rest of the fam! The menu looks so delicious and we look forward to trying it all!

I've seen this place a few times now and I finally got to stop by to see it. I fell in love with it as soon as I walked in! I grew up spending my summers in Mexico with my family and this made me feel so nostalgic and "homesick" in a good way. The whole place is a vibe and I loved the music playing in the background. Ordered the horchata iced latte, cafe de la olla, and some churro bites. Churro bites were made to order and tasted awesome. Coffees were really good. The place is kid friendly too. I noticed the front had a little coloring area for them and The back patio area also has some little play things. The person who helped us was super nice and friendly Parking is on the side through a driveway behind the building (plenty of parking) Definitely will be adding to our rotation

Eli brought coloring supplies for my nieces :)

Fresh, they eat more like a pastry--super moist, rich without being heavy, and none of that dry crumble. Chocolate (Valrhona) is the one--deep, smooth, perfectly tender. The vegan strawberry matcha is a sleeper hit--the strawberry glaze smells like a field of ripe berries and actually makes you pause before the first bite, with the matcha keeping it grounded. They only had two raised that day, but both delivered. Vanilla was soft and airy, and the huckleberry had that bright tart-sweet glaze with zero fake flavor. Only note: don't over-order. During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. \(`0´)/ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. It tasted so burnt. Like the most burnt coffee bean taste ever. I do not know what happened there, but it was a very big disappointment. Ordered 2 churros, they were good. Nothing crazy, just something that helped curve the horrible taste from the burnt coffee. You don't interact with the workers, so service I can not comment on. They have a restroom. Parking is in the plaza in front, which is shared with a few other businesses, the major one being Ralph's. You can order on a large screen and tap to pay on it as well. Sad to say, but I really do not see myself coming back as Torrance has plenty of other coffee shops to go to instead.

Such good boba! Easy parking out front…read more Right when you step inside, it smells delicious. They have pancakes along w lots of boba drink options. Fruit teas, milk teas, taro, etc. I got the traditional milk tea with non-dairy creamer and boba pearls. They ask your ice level and sweetness level preference - I got light ice and 30% sweet. It was the perfect level of sweetness and so good! The boba pearls were smaller than usual and really tasty. Great little treat! And kids love this place too - my niece and nephew loved the strawberry drink and the pancakes.

It definitely caught our attention, and the menu had a lot of refreshing options. The lobby looks empty but they have a large seating area that was full so don't be fooled by my photo. We ordered the peach fruit tea and a matcha with boba. The matcha with boba was a delicious pick. The boba had a great texture and was probably the highlight for me. The peach fruit tea wasn't quite my thing. It came with A LOT of fruit bits (I'm pretty sure they were pears), which might be great if you enjoy that texture, but for me it made it hard to actually enjoy the drink. It was really lacking on the peach flavor but having to work around all the fruit took away from it. Overall, a decent stop if you're in the area and like fruit-forward drinks with real fruit pieces...just something to keep in mind depending on your preference.

Apparently the theme of the evening was snacking while waiting for dinner. While killing time…read morebefore our table at Momo Paradise, we wandered into this charming little shop devoted almost entirely to chestnuts. One thing was immediately clear: everyone was ordering the snowstorm. Most people seemed to go with either the matcha or the original, though they also had other flavors like sesame. Naturally we followed the crowd and ordered the matcha. It's matcha soft serve topped with chestnuts, and it turned out to be a great little pre-dinner snack -- creamy, earthy, and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was that they carry different types of chestnuts. I preferred the smaller ones, which were softer, more moist, and sweeter. The larger ones were firmer, but you can buy them already peeled, which honestly feels like a luxury if you've ever battled chestnut shells before. It's a quirky specialty shop, but a fun one to browse. And judging by the number of snowstorms coming out of the kitchen, that's clearly the move here.

I've been wanting to check this place out for some time now…read more I always see it passing down the street and finally got the chance last weekend. Hisaya Kyoto specializes in all things chestnuts, including soft serve chestnuts, and chestnut baked goodies. I came on a hot day and got their vanilla and chestnut soft serve on a cone. I also got one of their chestnut cakes. The ice cream was very creamy and definitely a good treat after my lunch. The small cake was not too sweet and light. It had some sweetened chestnuts inside which was really nice. It came out hot and went well with the ice cream. They also have cookies, donuts, and a variety of ice creams as well. They also have drinks like their chestnut milk too. For soft serve they have their fuji soft serves which comes with toppings. I want to come back to try their other items. The people behind the counter wasn't the friendliest and out items took awhile. The inside is small and casual and not really anywhere to sit. But they do have seating outside. There is plenty of parking since it is on a strip mall.
