Wow! 30 years in business, countless reference letters, awards, and recommendations and never have I been accused with such defamation of character!
All I can say is there are two sides to a story, the contract was signed on March 16th. and due to the PANDEMIC City Hall was closed and everything needed to be electronically submitted. What normally was a 3-4 week turnaround became long and dragged out, you can imagine, including everything else that came along with these unprecedented times were in.
City Permits were finally issued on June 23rd. exactly 99 days later, a delay was beyond my control. Work was commenced and halfways through the job, unexpectedly he decides to go on vacation, without giving me a fair heads up of at least 2 weeks, leaving me with scheduled crews that I had to cancel. When he returned, he called me 3 days later to tell me he's back and expects us to drop everything and resume work.
From day One they wanted everything for free or as a favor because they gave me the job. The project was a STANDARD bathroom addition & laundry room, that upon installation of all the finish, finish trim & fixtures he wanted to go high end & custom but did not want to pay for it he would write us a check and then place a Stop Payment on it. Roberto was very aware the addition was STANDARD he kept stating he was on a budget. When it came to the progressive payments as addressed on our contract, he was never able to stick to the billing schedule, always gave partial payments, and full of excuses as to where or why his money was being held up. I advised him several times that if we were not current, we could not proceed with work.
On one occasion they both tried contracting my plumber behind my back and when confronted by myself & my plumber, both he & his wife denied it.
The job was finished on September 29th. three months and 7 days after permits were issued, a job that normally takes 3-4 months, and he's just now posting this complaint 38 days later.
The paint & garage door he is referring to among other things they would accuse us of, was just so he could say I owed him a credit.
Lastly, he failed to pay me the full amount, but that is ok I'd rather take a loss and be done with. Because personally, I like to sleep at night and have peace of mind, which is more important than any dollar amount.
Both Roberto and his wife appear to be mild, quiet & humble, but unfortunately, it's a MASK they wear. Robert is the type who stays up at night conjuring up how he can, slander, destroy, or defame someone's character. He is vindictive, deceiving, and nefarious. I am only glad the nightmare of working with him is over.
And as far as this Jasmine D. I have no idea who she is, I am assuming he got his daughter on this vindictive roll when I told him I would be placing lean on his property for failing to pay and suing him for defamation of character/slander.
I will just have to include her in the lawsuit it's obvious the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. That says a lot about him and the COWARD he is to have his kids involved in his vindictive work. And as far as YELP you guys are no worse, no evidence no facts, you just post whatever anyone puts up, for that reason anyone can slam whoever they want and fabricate lies.
I have the emails, texts, construction documents, and every sub and employee that worked on that job willing to testify of Roberto Dubon's manner of character.
