The post treatment was nothing but witch hazel! Let me tell you from experience & knowledge that after getting laser or electrolysis one needs to have appropriate after care. She has no ice (to close pores) and no aloe Vera (to calm the skin) she just let's you walk out and what happens I get like tiny tiny white (puss filled) pimples in ever pore she took a hair out of. It was awful omg I was popping them all week. It's not right, to open the pores & not close them back up esp in nyc's pollution. On the recommendation of a friend, I visited Kathy at KB Electrolysis. Since starting with Kathy, most of the treated hairs have been eliminated. She is very personable and has great insertions with her machine. Even though Kathy uses the same machine as my previous electrologist, I now experience significantly less regrowth and no scabbing between appointments. Being a grad student, I initially hesitated to visit Kathy because her prices were more than what I was used to. However, I'm seeing significantly less hair than ever before. I honestly wish I had switched to this place sooner because Kathy's treatments work better and are therefore so much more cost effective in the long run. It pains me to think about how much money I wasted before coming here.

This location in particular gives doctors office vibe - it's very chaotic, and you can hear people talking from inside the room where your facial takes place. My technician asked about my skin concerns, and I told her I wanted to feel more glowy and less dull and was having trouble deciding between either the anti-aging or aqua facial. She said she'd customize it to my skin, but what happened next was mostly just a lot of irritation. She did a chemical peel on me that left my skin feeling dry and irritated. I was hoping for some hydration, but we moved on to extractions and then did some kind of electromagnetic thing to my skin that felt bad after the mask. She did put what was supposed to be a hydrating mask on my face, but with everything else she did I still left this facial feeling dry and irritated. I've had plenty of facials before, and the extractions for this one were so, so painful. I had red marks on my face for days afterwards. I will not be back here. Come at your own risk.

Since my hair is blond and was just freshly colored to a platinum blond, I asked several times if the treatment would change the color of my hair and make it yellow. She assured me that not only would it not change my color, but will make the blond look cleaner and brighter. I asked if she has done it before on blonds and if any of them had their hair turn yellow and she again said no. Next,she demanded a prepayment of $50 through zelle. I explained that I don't feel comfortable sending cash to a person I never met and she was surprized to hear that. It should have been a sign not to go there. Should have listened to my gut. When I came, she again re assured me that my hair will not turn yellow or change color in any way. She did the treatment and I did smell an ingredient that was previously put in my hair and turned it yellow. I asked if she is sure my hair will not change color and she said not to worry. When she was done, it did look yellow, but I attributed it to the bad lighting. However, when I got home and looked in the mirror, I realized that not only my hair turned yellow, but also greenish/yellowish. I am attaching a picture so you can see my platinum hair I came in with and greenish/yellowish I ended up with. When I texted Olga, she said that usially blonds don't turn yellow, bit my hair did unfortunately (so she already saw it before O even left the salon). She said that toner should fix it, but from experince I lnew it wouldn't. I sent pictires to my colorist and he wa horrified by the results as he just colored my hair couple of days prior. He said only highlights would fix it. I told Olga I wanted money back because she ruined my color and now I had to get highlights and it cost a lot. Her reply was- no money back , you don't like it, then sue me. Which I will. Her incompetency cost me $170 and cost of hoghlights to fix it. I would never intrust my hair to her again for toner or anything else. Be careful, do not go to this place. Read all the reviews.

I'm at the stage where I'm really seeing a big difference in hair density, which feels amazing after being consistent with treatments. Farha is incredibly knowledgeable and always takes time to explain what's happening and answer my (many!) questions. She also has the best bedside manner. Electrolysis can be a long process, especially when you're working on larger areas like I am, and she makes the experience as comfortable as possible. I do marathon sessions on weekends (8+ hours), and she is always attentive to pain tolerance and makes adjustments so it's very manageable. On top of that, she's just a lovely person--warm, kind, and accommodating. You can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and wants them to feel safe and supported. If you're considering electrolysis, I can't recommend her enough.
