I agreed to wait since I liked the reviews I read on Yelp. The morning of the job I get a call from him saying that there is an issue with the grout company getting my grout. He said he'd get it straightened out and could come two days later to complete the job. I agreed. Then the morning of the second appointment I get a similar call and he said that he is not sure exactly how long it will take to get the grout but that he should be able to get it eventually. Then a week later, when I hadn't heard any updates, I told him I'm going to move forward with another company if I do not get word he told me that he ultimately couldn't get the right color grout. His communication throughout the process was inconsistent. I do not get upset when issues arise since I know that things happen. It's more about how it is handled and Gabriel was disrespectful of my time and a poor communicator throughout. I recommend that you avoid this company.

When possible I like to support small independent local businesses and made the call for an estimate . Dan the owner spent a lot of time at our in home visit to review the scope , made great suggestions on 2 new pots and pan drawers and assured us we would not know they were refaced but would look like new cabinets . We chose a beautiful Maple wood with new drawers on amazing soft close silent hardware . The work crew was professional , skilled craftsmen that figured out every little corner and angle to perfection . I am amazed at the quality of work . The transformation is stunning . My adult daughter just saw the new kitchen today for the first time and was so impressed she thought it was all new boxes from the ground up ! We recommend better than new Kitchens 100 % for refacing .They are an honest local company that delivers on their project promise.

Then Dan came to our house and spent a significant amount of time with us explaining our options, showing us samples of cabinets, and answering all of our questions. We opted for several additional options on top of our initial estimate, but we never felt pressured to add or upgrade anything. We initially had hoped to do refacing to improve the overall aesthetic of our kitchen, but we were so excited to discover some of the additional options that were offered that solved functional problems that had always bothered us! When we reached out to Better Than New, we didn't even realize how much they could do besides just refacing. We replaced all of our old, hard-to-open drawers with beautiful, easy to open, soft-close drawers. We added a pull-out drawer for trash and recycling bins. We replaced sagging shelves in our cabinets. And we replaced the shelves in our deep pantry with drawers, making the space SO much more usable and accessible for our tall family. So not only is the kitchen beautiful, but it's so much more functional. There were zero hidden fees. The work was absolutely immaculate. The team was incredibly professional. And the work was done as scheduled and on time - the entire project only took 2.5 days!! I didn't receive estimates from other companies, so I don't know how the price would have compared. But we feel that the finished product, the quality of the materials used, and the professionalism and skill of the team were worth what we paid. We really couldn't be any happier with Better Than New Kitchens, and we LOVE our new kitchen. I'd highly recommend working with this company!

I actually stumbled on Phoenix Hardwood while looking for options to deal with an aged and very…read morebadly heaved living room slab, which was complicating a flooring install I had been trying to line up. Other contractors had told me we'd need at least 6 to 10 hours of grinding to get anywhere, and being the center of my house, that just wasn't an viable option. Mark came out to take a look, and gave me some additional options that did not require nearly as much grinding. He also had some ideas to help mitigate and contain the dust that would be generated, which other folks had not bothered to try and work with me on. While I only needed options for this one room, Mark gave me a proposal for doing the entire flooring job (7 rooms in total, over 1400 square feet). Prices were a bit higher than the other outfits I had talked to, but Mark's company specializes in hardwood floors and I liked his attitude and the willingness to work with me on the dust and grinding concerns, not to mention his straightforward honesty. While we had a few slight hiccups at the very outset, the installation moved ahead at a very quick pace and did not relent until we wrapped up exactly seven days later. We ran into a number of issues, primarily with the 30 year old slab having settled or cracked (or both) in most of the rooms, but Dan and Will, who did the install, were able to surmount them all without missing a beat. These guys have known each other for eight years and worked together more than half that time, and it absolutely shows when you watch how well they function as a team. They work quickly and efficiently and are absolute masters of their craft. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the job they did or the speed with which they knocked it out. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I don't pull punches and I do not hesitate to call out shenanigans. In this case, I really have nothing but good things to say about the folks at Phoenix Hardwood. These guys knocked it out of the park and exceeded my expectations in every regard. My wife and I are thrilled with how the floors turned out, and our only regret is that we did not hire them sooner. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking to get hardwood floor installed, because I simply cannot imagine anyone doing a better job.
