When I was eventually assisted, the interaction felt unfriendly and unwelcoming, which was disappointing as this was my first time visiting the office. I was not seen until approximately 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time on top of getting there 15 mins early. The first staff member I encountered during my walk to the room my visit was very kind and welcoming, which I appreciated. The provider I was scheduled with was professional and direct; However, I was concerned by the way information regarding prenatal care was communicated. I had only found out that I was pregnant two days prior to this appointment, and my intention for the visit was to confirm the pregnancy and receive guidance on next steps, including when to begin prenatal vitamins. During the discussion, the provider strongly emphasized the risks of not having started prenatals already, including mentioning spina bifida and other serious complications. Given how early I am in the process and the purpose of my visit, this approach felt unnecessarily alarming rather than supportive and educational. Additionally, my experience with the phlebotomist was concerning. She did not provide any warning before inserting the needle and displayed poor bedside manner throughout the process. When I mentioned that I was feeling faint and asked if she was almost finished, I was told that it was a "mindset thing," which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the circumstances. Overall, I left the office feeling upset and in tears. This experience did not meet my expectations for compassionate patient care, especially during what can already be an emotional and vulnerable time. As a result, I do not plan to return to this location. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration to improve the experience for future patients. She was amazing. However, she don't deliver any babies. So, about three or four visits in I get to meet Doctor Shah (the doctor that will be delivering me). The first visit with Doctor Shah I felt very rushed in my appointment. The second time I seen Doctor Shah was an emergency visit due to bleeding the night before. He didn't seem worried at all. With no answer as to why I was bleeding. The third visit was like he remembered NOTHING about the second visit. Not even the bleeding or the Emergency Room visit the night before. With that being said about Doctor Shah. The ladies at the front disk are amazing and very helpful. The ultrasound person is amazing too. So was Julie. However, I feel I don't connect with Doctor Shah very good.

In our experience, the communication was unprofessional and unnecessarily alarming. We felt information was presented in a way that created fear and pressure for more tests and labs, instead of giving clear, balanced guidance. Thankfully our first baby was healthy, but we experienced the same pattern again during the second pregnancy. Pregnancy is already emotional and stressful. Patients deserve compassion, respect, and honest communication -- not to feel like they are being treated as an invoice. We are seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the medical board.

Being a first time mom, as soon as I became pregnant I knew I wanted to learn everything I could…read moreabout birth and explore all my options. I met with an OB and looked into hospitals. I researched midwives and read home birth stories. After meeting our midwives at Tree of Life, we instantly knew this was our team and I knew I wanted a home birth. Being a first time mom I was nervous because almost all of the home birth stories I read were second or third time moms; I didn't see too many first time home births. Being 36 I also got the "geriatric pregnancy" talk when I met with the OB. I really liked the fact that Tree of Life was a team of midwives. Morgann, Deidra, Giuliana, and Micha were such an incredible team. Each brought their own different knowledge and perspectives to our meetings. Every visit was an hour long and both my husband and I would leave feeling heard and well taken care of. We never felt rushed, and they made sure we knew they were always there for any questions we had. The birth itself was incredible. Deidra and Morgann were the two midwives who attended. They both gave my husband and I unwavering support while also giving us space when needed. I had a small complication during birth, but Morgann did an amazing job of explaining the situation and laying out all the possibilities and options we had. I felt confident making an informed decision that was best for me based on the information Morgann gave me. I ended up having the home birth I'd been dreaming of. We couldn't have done it without them. The care after was exceptional; I swear postpartum would have been much harder without the tree of life team. They were there for any questions we had; and they constantly checked in on us. Saying bye after 6 weeks was probably one of the hardest things we've had to do. I can't recommend this team enough. From start to finish they are truly with you every step of the way. Their encouragement and knowledge is invaluable; and they truly support you making your own informed decisions. I have never felt more taken care of or held than I did in their care.

Through the course of my pregnancy Morgann and her assistants listened, gave great recommendations and made my little family feel welcome. Her office is beautifully set up for children to play quietly while we go through our appointment, she has snacks available for the mamas who need it, and it feels just professional enough while being cozy and welcoming.

Avoid Desert West OBGYN at all costs…read more Our experience started with waiting over 2 hours despite having a scheduled appointment. When we were finally seen, the doctor spent less than 5 minutes with us, asked almost no meaningful questions, and never performed or scheduled an anatomy ultrasound despite my wife being over 20 weeks pregnant. We left feeling rushed, dismissed, and genuinely concerned about the quality of care. The office staff and management only made things worse. They were consistently rude, disorganized, and nearly impossible to reach. Calls were rarely answered, messages weren't returned, and we spent months trying to resolve a billing issue. We paid around $1,000 out of pocket because our insurance didn't cover the visit. After deciding to leave the practice due to the poor care, we were promised a $650 refund. Instead, we only received about half of that after months of calling multiple times a week and even making trips to the office in person. Every time we managed to reach someone, we were told, "You'll get your money back in about a week." That never happened. The billing situation was unbelievably unprofessional. After repeatedly asking to speak with the billing department and getting nowhere, one of the front desk employees admitted there wasn't even a billing department anymore because the two people who handled billing were no longer with the practice. Yet when I went into the office, they still acted as if someone from billing was available, saying things like, "Let me get someone from billing to help you." We were given multiple manager and staff extensions, but no one ever answered or returned calls. The lack of communication, accountability, and honesty was beyond frustrating. This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a medical office. We regret not reading the reviews beforehand. If you value your time, your money, and quality prenatal care, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
