We felt information was presented in a way that created fear and pressure for more tests and labs, instead of giving clear, balanced guidance. Thankfully our first baby was healthy, but we experienced the same pattern again during the second pregnancy. Pregnancy is already emotional and stressful. Patients deserve compassion, respect, and honest communication -- not to feel like they are being treated as an invoice. We are seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the medical board.

Heart blood flow was illustrated with red and blue colors representing venous and arterial blood. This tiny fetus came fully alive on the huge video screen and delighted us for 45 minutes doing summersaults and other baby gymnastics in utereo :). Brandy was the Ultrasound Tech and was very professional, explaining everything in detail. My favorite aspect of this experience was the full set of photos immediately sent to my daughter from the Ultrasound. My daughter loved getting these images to share with family. It was so meaningful and special to learn that my future grandson weighs 1 pound now, hear his heartbeat, and see his development so far. Thank you Valley Prenatal!

When I was eventually assisted, the interaction felt unfriendly and unwelcoming, which was disappointing as this was my first time visiting the office. I was not seen until approximately 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time on top of getting there 15 mins early. The first staff member I encountered during my walk to the room my visit was very kind and welcoming, which I appreciated. The provider I was scheduled with was professional and direct; However, I was concerned by the way information regarding prenatal care was communicated. I had only found out that I was pregnant two days prior to this appointment, and my intention for the visit was to confirm the pregnancy and receive guidance on next steps, including when to begin prenatal vitamins. During the discussion, the provider strongly emphasized the risks of not having started prenatals already, including mentioning spina bifida and other serious complications. Given how early I am in the process and the purpose of my visit, this approach felt unnecessarily alarming rather than supportive and educational. Additionally, my experience with the phlebotomist was concerning. She did not provide any warning before inserting the needle and displayed poor bedside manner throughout the process. When I mentioned that I was feeling faint and asked if she was almost finished, I was told that it was a "mindset thing," which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the circumstances. Overall, I left the office feeling upset and in tears. This experience did not meet my expectations for compassionate patient care, especially during what can already be an emotional and vulnerable time. As a result, I do not plan to return to this location. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration to improve the experience for future patients. My husband finally bugged the midwife enough for her to tell me to "go to a hospital, lie about having contractions" that she would make a call and have some random doctor that I've never met claim me as his patient for me to be admitted. We were left with no doctor, no help, no answers, told to lie to medical staff. It was completely stressful. No medical facility should ever treat someone like this ! Especially someone who is pregnant . It turns out that OUR midwive was responsible for the death of a baby during labor. 3 months prior to my delivery. Along with a list of previous medical misconduct. In the end we lucked out with a healthy baby, but literally shame on all of you. When we were finally seen, the doctor spent less than 5 minutes with us, asked almost no meaningful questions, and never performed or scheduled an anatomy ultrasound despite my wife being over 20 weeks pregnant. We left feeling rushed, dismissed, and genuinely concerned about the quality of care. The office staff and management only made things worse. They were consistently rude, disorganized, and nearly impossible to reach. Calls were rarely answered, messages weren't returned, and we spent months trying to resolve a billing issue. We paid around $1,000 out of pocket because our insurance didn't cover the visit. After deciding to leave the practice due to the poor care, we were promised a $650 refund. Instead, we only received about half of that after months of calling multiple times a week and even making trips to the office in person. Every time we managed to reach someone, we were told, "You'll get your money back in about a week." That never happened. The billing situation was unbelievably unprofessional. After repeatedly asking to speak with the billing department and getting nowhere, one of the front desk employees admitted there wasn't even a billing department anymore because the two people who handled billing were no longer with the practice. Yet when I went into the office, they still acted as if someone from billing was available, saying things like, "Let me get someone from billing to help you." We were given multiple manager and staff extensions, but no one ever answered or returned calls. The lack of communication, accountability, and honesty was beyond frustrating. This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a medical office. We regret not reading the reviews beforehand. If you value your time, your money, and quality prenatal care, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Being 36 I also got the "geriatric pregnancy" talk when I met with the OB. I really liked the fact that Tree of Life was a team of midwives. Morgann, Deidra, Giuliana, and Micha were such an incredible team. Each brought their own different knowledge and perspectives to our meetings. Every visit was an hour long and both my husband and I would leave feeling heard and well taken care of. We never felt rushed, and they made sure we knew they were always there for any questions we had. The birth itself was incredible. Deidra and Morgann were the two midwives who attended. They both gave my husband and I unwavering support while also giving us space when needed. I had a small complication during birth, but Morgann did an amazing job of explaining the situation and laying out all the possibilities and options we had. I felt confident making an informed decision that was best for me based on the information Morgann gave me. I ended up having the home birth I'd been dreaming of. We couldn't have done it without them. The care after was exceptional; I swear postpartum would have been much harder without the tree of life team. They were there for any questions we had; and they constantly checked in on us. Saying bye after 6 weeks was probably one of the hardest things we've had to do. I can't recommend this team enough. From start to finish they are truly with you every step of the way. Their encouragement and knowledge is invaluable; and they truly support you making your own informed decisions. He laughed and said, yea, he's a little different, isn't he....again, this is not the problem. On my third visit, he comes in and looks at the ultrasounds and then simply turns to me and matter of fact says, "Baby B isn't going to make it. She is too small. We need to discuss options to terminate baby B for the health of Baby A." Uh, I'm sorry, what did you just blah, blah, blah, at me in no uncertain terms. Not, "we might want to consider, or their is a possibility, just simply that she isn't going to make it. I pointed out that she was still growing and was larger than last time and that her heart was beating strong. I mean, if the fetus is doing her part to grow and live, why would we decide to destroy her because her brother is bigger than her? He held his position, so I left. I called my husband blubbering across the parking lot telling him to find me another doctor. By the way, the new doctor he found was AMAZING! I hope that women who visit this man are strong enough to make their own decisions and not just listen to him because he is a doctor. He knew not what he was talking about. Beyond that, telling a pregnant woman something like that so coldly and as if it was a fact could cause a person to be so distraught that it would be damaging to the pregnancy. Both my twins were born healthy, and are happy, wonderful people...who both always show up in the 99% for size at every doctor visit. I hate to think that people follow his advise.
