My first retreat with her was amazing. I even pre booked another one! However, my schedules changed and she was at first accommodating. But when I asked for a refund bec she didn't have anything to offer this year after at least 2 months waiting for a date from her (it's been a year since I pre paid), she tried to twist and gaslight our communications. I would have accepted, an apology or have some level of professionalism and having some good customer service but Alana did not. I will never go to a yoga retreat hosted by her who does not take accountability or apologize for misunderstanding. At the end of the day, I am a customer who paid for a 3 day retreat that I will never attend because she does not embody someone who has the kindness, integrity and calmness I expect from a yoga retreat. I recently attended one of Alanna's 3 day Goddess yoga detox retreat. 1st time attending and I must say it was the most wonderful Me-cation that I could have given myself. Alanna made me feel like family. The 3 other women who attended were amazing. Although we all came from different backgrounds Alanna was able to accommodate all our quirks. My hopes owere so high that I even wrote a WhatsApp message to Alanna Z- the owner of this establishment excitingly as to how I was going to "Save The World" by bringing Sound Healing to the Hospitals where I ve been working tirelessly for many many years. It was very traumatizing to me and STILL IS that my $888 INVESTED into this training brought way more TROUBLE than benefit Unfortunately. In my Verifed Opinion Az I Am owner Alanna Z- have been acting OUT OF INTEGRITY in her relations with me as well and many others AZ I AM customers as well as staff members. This has happened before and Alanna Z learned how to get away with it by deleting UNWANTED reviews from her Online Profile. She managed to manipulate Google Maps Publishing Rules in order to ERASE my previous review from everyone' elses view other than mine. The review got deleted due to pictures posted in it being pictures of the Visa Credit Card Disputes and other material used to support my claim or to attempt to reach the AZ I AM owner and manager who happens to be Alanna Z. I m feeling like im back in a Childhood when NO ONE paid attention to my pain. I kept reaching out and saying HERE pay attention - I M HURTing but was unusually told in a subtle way AKA manipulations TO BE QUIET and CONVENIENT. I m no longer a child. I demand from this Spiritual BUSINESS Establishment to treat me in a respectful caring way! After all AZ I AM pocketed my $902 I have been able to dispute $2 and $12 charges that were charged on my card by Alanna Z due to what appeared to be in a severely triggered state and INABILITY TO SELF REGULATE, it was done without Informing me that such charges were being put on my card - that is severe violation against Visa Credit Card policy. I experience a lot of sadness having had to Exit the Teacher Training Course. Missing 2 of my Course buddies. We started with 3 students and after me no longer being willing to put up with the Az I Am owner's unprofessional, unkind, emotionally unsafe behavior I had no other option for staying in Integrity With Myself other exiting this training. Sadly all my attempts for reaching AZ I AM for negotiating any kind of partial refund have failed due to Alanna's claim that "all training costs are non refundable" and she could CARE LESS about VIOLATING the terms of the sales agreement that she herself described in Writing. I absolutely love AZIAM! The class variation is super diverse. I've enjoyed wonderful vinyasa, meditation, sculpt, dance, stretch, etc. Even better than the awesome classes is the vibe. AZIAM is the most warmly welcoming and low key health, wellness and fitness place I've been to in Santa Monica - hands down, no question about it. Not even close. Warm and inviting space. Took a rejuvenating Soundbath and loved it! Great acoustics in the room that helped sound resonate throughout, and I came away feeling totally refreshed. The front desk and instructor were also awesome - both super friendly and set a friendly, positive vibe from the start. Would absolutely return to try their yoga classes or attend future sound baths. The Wellness Center is located above the yoga studio and offers a variety of healthy massages, Reiki & Energy Healing, Acupressure Massage & cupping. What a gorgeous, conscious, high vibration space! The yoga studio ceilings with skylights must be over 20/25 feet high. At night, Alana, the owner, flicks on small, white Christmas tree type lights that outline the floor around the entire perimeter of this huge room with wood floors. The place is spotlessly clean. Do NOT buy a Groupon for this studio!! I had purchased a Groupon for 10 classes. After my 6th class, I receive a text from the owner Alanna, saying I owe for the class. Assuming it was an oversight; I share that I still have a package with remaining classes. She said the Groupon no longer applied as it is for new students only. According to Groupon's fine print btw, it did not say that it was for new students only. If you had not been to the studio in six months or more which applied to me. If Aziam was going to modify the terms of the Groupon, the studio should have disclosed that upon redemption. The owner then became degrading and let's call it not very "namaste" accusing me of having financial difficulties and perhaps I should go to a donation basis studio. I highly recommend the yoga collective in Santa Monica, Love Yoga Venice or YogaWorks for studios that are beautiful and won't cheat you out of classes you have paid for. There are too many other choices in the area to tolerate a studio that lacks integrity. read more

This is my favorite yoga studio I've discovered thus far in Santa Monica. The warm, inviting and friendly staff is the reason I plan to keep coming back. Alana is super sweet, welcoming and full of positive energy. This was my third time at AZ I AM, and my first class with Lucas. Props to Lucas as a teacher! I've been doing yoga for 6 years, but never had proper positioning with my back foot on some of the basic positions. Lucas's verbal instruction provided a few extra details on basic moves that were 'aha' moments for me, and it really made a difference. Lucas also gave some options and welcomed a style that felt new-wave and liberating from the stodgy old flow I've become used to. Looking forward to future classes at AZ I AM! read more

I've been coming here for over a year and I absolutely love it!! The studio is MASSIVE and the classes feel so personal and give you room to breathe... quite different than a lot of other studios I've been to. Sally is just the best instructor and really guides her practice with intention and kindness. Alanna is hilarious and so much fun to be around! I visited the studio for the first time today and absolutely fell in love! I love that the room is filled with natural light (a rarity these days as most studios have windowless rooms), it is heated (warm, but not hot) so it helps warm up my muscles, and that the instructor is in front doing the poses with us so we can follow along. The instructor also seemed more experienced than some of the other instructors I've had at other studios. I checked out their schedule for the next month and noticed they have special events such as hike + yoga (one hour hike followed by one hour of yoga), sound baths, meditation classes, dance parties, etc. How exciting! I've never encounter another studio like this before. I wish I found this studio sooner. I can't wait to return!!! read more

Very nice yoga studio. Owner is very warm, welcoming and kind. Studio is large, light, clean and at true right temperature (infra red lights). Mats are available. Cute very well cut, durable and very affordable yoga outfits, jewelry and crystals can be purchased at the studio too. Parking structure across the street has plenty of room and is free for 90 min which is more than needed for a yoga class. I love this place read more

I've been going to various yoga studios in Santa Monica for a good 20 years, and AZIAM is my absolute favorite across the board. All of the teachers I've tried have been excellent, the schedule has a nice variety of classes & class times, and the energy in this studio just feels really good. I love how big the space is, the way it is lit, and the heat temperature is just right. It's infrared heat so it doesn't make it hard to breathe or dry your hair out (like regular hot yoga). And to top it all off, the prices are unbeatable, especially for Santa Monica! This is for sure my new go-to studio! read more

Alison's sound bath is the medicine everyone needs. Her sound healing is incredible because it goes so deep and you don't do anything but just lie there and take it in. Everything holds a vibration, and having a teacher of high vibration is important to facilitate the healing of others. Alison is such a teacher. I had my first visit to the AZIAM Yoga studio last night and loved it. The staff was incredibly friendly, the studio was bright, spacious and clean. And most importantly, my instructor Phoebe, was fantastic. I took a restorative yoga class with Phoebe months ago at another studio (that no longer exists) and have been dreaming about it ever since. I was so excited when I saw she was at another studio on the west side. And the class did not disappoint. I left the class feeling better than when I arrived. The studio in itself is so beauiful, big and is filled with amazing and pure energy. The location is the cherry on top, just blocks away from the beach! I went here knowing the studio used to be formally Maha Yoga... I was hesitant at first because my friend backed out coming with me last second but I am SO glad I still ended up going. This place is SOOOO cute and in the perfect location in the Brentwood Country Mart. There is a Pressed Juice stand below which is the perfect post yogie drink. And super yummy food options as well. On to the actual class. Since this was my frist time coming to the studio I went 15 minutes early and scoped it out. The receptionist was super sweet and knowledgeable telling me about the studio. The actually studio is beaitiful with tons of natural light because it is on the second floor of the plaza. Walking in to the yoga room I was stunned at how clean it was and how much space there was. Not lilke Core Power where it can get super crammed and stuffy. I took the Yoga Sculpt class and it was INCREDIBLE. Debbie Cohen is so kind and sweet introducing me to her before the class started and made me feel so welcome. Not to mention I took her class and there was only one other person in the class!!! I seriously had a private yoga class. One of the most amazing classes I have ever taken. I sweated SO much and she made the practice super engaging and personal. 100% go to her class and take her.
