KRISTINA JOYYYYY!!! This was my first breath-work meditation and sound bath classes, we did them back to back on a Wednesday night. They offer this awesome cinnamon tea I haven't stopped thinking about in front lol. They sell all of the books they put on the wall for reflection and guidance through this crazy world we are living in along with crystals and other items. Releasing the "issues from our tissues" is something I have never considered before, her term. It is a room full of tears and sounds being released from about 40 people at once on cue but being drowned by loud music that help release the trauma! I am convinced ALL people should do this treatment, so much we don't realize we hold on to in life in our bodies. Kristina Joy was my first experience and you can just see and feel the light and beauty exuding from her being. She is such a kind soul and truly cares about helping others I can't wait to go back for more!! PS no phones allowed on inside during treatments, this was taken by our friend during prep before and after it was put away time. :)

It was a much needed sound bath for one hour with relaxation environment ‍ Must try it out when in LA!

This place is perfect for meditation and offers fantastic workshops. The sound baths are incredibly relaxing, and the ambiance is both welcoming and serene. Additionally, the service is also friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience.

Any business that spends its money to create this beautiful facade and post these positive messages for all to see during such difficult times is a winner in my book. I've only been to unplug meditation once but thought the class was wonderful.

Virtual Zoom Soundbath with Allison - fantastic.

I've always struggled with meditation classes in-person. I don't really have a good reason, other than that I haven't been able to feel connected to them in a group setting, or I always end up next to some obnoxious person who snores in my face the entire time. Enter the pandemic, where one can now take virtual meditation classes. I came across Unplug Meditation online and figured I would give them a chance. As a practicing yogi, I've always been made aware of the benefits of meditation. This is the first meditation class I've ever truly felt the full benefits of - and it was from the comfort of my home, which made it even better. I attended the sound bath with Allison. Her internet quality was great, so the sound bath actually translated well over Zoom. I really connected with her as an instructor and found her presence so calming, loving and accepting. The class had their cameras off and she engaged with people in the chat, so you could really cozy up and not worry about being judged on camera. I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately for many reasons. Because I'm in EST, this PST class was right before I went to bed, and it was truly one of the better nights sleep I've had in a long while. I'm genuinely glad to have discovered this local business and am even considering a more consistent membership directly with this California business all the way from Ohio.

Really cool guided meditation experience. I had a rough weekend and needed to get re-centered! My girlfriend invited me so I said sure. The center is Sooo peaceful n relaxing. Registration is easy on an ipad. Everyone leaves their cell phones on the front desk prior to entering the meditation room. They have a calendar of meditation events all varied. This one was guided self love and healing. The room is dark w super relaxing meditation chairs that recline to flat. There is cool music playing and the teacher leads the whole time. Personally i would have liked a bit more silence but that's not the style for this center. They also have a really cool items for sale, chakra sprays, gemstones T-shirts, positive affirmation chachkis , And also really delicious cinnamon orange tea and citrus infused water. The teacher ‍ also meets w students after. I'm def going back! NAMASTE

My dear friend thought it would be good for me to come be around some amazingly positive energy and my instinct told me to drop what I was doing to just go. No butts about it. To start, yes, parking is upstairs. You walk down to enter the center through double doors. I was greeted with a shrine. There was an instant shift in energy the minute you step in. There were frames all along the side of the walls of photos of people I'm not yet familiar with. They have a gift shop if you want to purchase any meditation CDs or photos of gurus. Still learning their names. On Tuesdays and Sundays are the days to go and have a nice dinner cafeteria style for $10 in cash that goes towards the center. The people donate their time and energy and put a lot of love into making the food here. The food served is vegan so don't worry about being lactose intolerant. The chocolate chip vegan cookies were a delight! Melted a little in my hands and the coconut oil made it nice and soft. I had black beans, spinach basmati rice, and salad with light vinaigrette dressing. They also had some mash potato, but I passed. Everyone here greets you with a smile and introductions. They make you feel good for taking time out to attend. Newcomers are welcome without judgement or asking what background or religion you come from. It's refreshing. Harlin in the dinner area explained the rituals to me. It was good to know what to expect prior to going in. The people range from young children to elderly and everything in between. I grew up going to Catholic Church, but the energy here was just far better than I've ever experienced. Whatever bad energy you carried with you, it's like it washed away the minute you step inside. I came a bit late, 7:15. My friend and I had 15 minutes to eat before the meditation began. After dinner, I put away my tray and threw paper plates in the trash to walk down further to a area on the left where you put your shoes up on a shelf. Everyone goes in barefoot or with socks on. I went barefoot onto the carpet and as you enter the meditation room you are able to look down at the top of the stairs to see chairs set up and a stage with a podium and to the left the live band. Women sat to the left, while men stayed on the right. We came in a bit after the intro so we waited for an opportune time to join the ladies. As I walked down the steps to the left on the side of the stairs were a blankets, shawls, and pillows. You can grab whichever you feel comfortable using. I grabbed one of each. I stacked my pillow on top of the folded blanket and put the shawl over my shoulders. Mimicking my friend. We sat on the floor. Some sat on chairs. There were kids napping on the floor right in front of me. During song meditation there are words on a projector for you to sing along. Literally only like 7-8 words that get chanted the whole time. The choir sings it then the rest of the room and we alternate. Sometimes we all did it together. In the beginning there's someone leading the group at the podium and we just go into a chant for a while. As we near the end of the chant meditation the music and words are expressed in crescendo. Once it was over, a soothing voice fills the room through the speaker to guide you in the second part of the meditation. The whole room goes silent and it feels like it's just you in the entire room. I kept opening my eyes until I felt comfortable enough to just relax and let the lady guide me towards the light. At one point the light in the room brightened and I felt like I was outside sitting in the sun. After that we went to put away the pillow, shawl, and blanket and line up towards the center of the room in front of two donation baskets and a shrine. People went two at a time. I watched as my friend walked up to the shrine bowed her head close to it with hands on the table then moved down to make room as she went into child's pose. Arms stretched out front, knees bent and feet with plantar facing up. She did it during her prayer then got up when she was done and walked towards the exit. There's another room where there's a huge golden statue of a bald guru draped in red fabric. To enter you must also be barefoot and quiet. There's some soothing music playing in there. As you enter there are chairs to the right and left. Upon entering I was instructed to walk down the center do slight bow then do a full bow on the ground like in child's pose again and circle clockwise around the statue stopping at 6 o'clock, 9, 12, and 3. You can have your palms together in front of your chest during this time. My friend decided to sit on the floor cross legged and I sat on the chair. You spend a moment in silence and leave when you want to before the center closes. The energy in there is amazing.

She will push you and you will definitely feel the burn! She is subbing now, but mentioned she should have regular classes starting 2020. Her style is not classical, but certainly effective. Definitely some unique moves she had us do. I came here through Gympass, and had no trouble getting into class. I really like how there's free parking underground (free on weekends and validated up to 2 hours weekdays)! Take the elevators up to the 2nd floor and walk around until you find suite 200. It was a little overwhelming when I got off the elevator because the studio ended up being all the way down the hall. They have two showers as well as a separate changing area. Remember to bring towels, since they won't have any for you to use! After 3 months I put my monthly auto-pay for unlimited classes on hold due to a strained shoulder. Upon return, I took a class with her (which I enjoyed in the past). There were some moves I couldn't do as my body was still weak. Just like some other reviewers mentioned, she got very annoyed with me because I was struggling, and reprimanded me for not mentioning my injury to her before class. After class, she was chatting with another client. All smiles. I politely waited until they were done, then approached her. I wanted to diffuse the awkward energy between us. When she saw me, the smile dropped from her face. I said "I'm sorry I didn't mention the injury before class, I thought I was stronger than I was." She dismissively replied "Mm-hmm" and looked away, visibly disgusted. WOW. I did nothing to deserve her "mean-girl" reaction. Being her client paying a whopping $200/mo, I'd think she'd act differently to keep my business. Needless to say, I felt very uncomfortable continuing to go there. I tried to cancel my monthly auto-pay. Guess what...she wouldn't let me cancel, stating a 2-MONTH advance notice is required!! This is unheard of for any yoga/Pilates studio! Nowhere on the website, or MindBody portal for this studio stated this policy. Clearly she had some weird personal vendetta against me and retaliated with this made-up policy. I had to work with my credit card company to dispute the bogus charges. She even lied to them saying she had a flyer stating the policy, but never provided them a copy. They reversed the charges. I came to practice Pilates because it is specifically designed to rehabilitate & heal the body. It should not be a contest. Ever. While some of the other instructors were lovely, it is because of the owner's bizarre business practices that I recommend against this place.
