As someone who suffers from chronic neck pain, I really need someone who can get in the muscle deep. So when I say I need a deep tissue massage, I mean I need DEEP. Most of the time, I have to direct my masseuse what to focus on and what I need in terms of pressure and most of the time they listen. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I was paired up with a female masseuse who was sweet enough in manner but didn't seem to speak much English so when I asked her to only focus on my neck or when I kept asking for deeper pressure, she was respond in agreement but then would proceed to continue doing what I asked her not to do. I specifically asked her to only focus on my upper back/neck area and not to do my whole body. She did work on my upper area but then proceeded to do the rest of my body when I asked her not to. I know they are trained to do full body massages but the purpose of getting a massage for a lot folks is to get some relief from pain or tight muscles with specific attention to problem areas. If I'm going to pay an inordinate amount of money for an hour massage, I'd rather not have it wasted on parts of my body I don't need worked on. Needless to say, I realized I can't get what I really need here, so while I appreciated the good service overall, I will continue my journey for a great masseuse elsewhere.

For others like me who will be having their first spa experience, let me just give a few more details...When we were taken back to our room, we were told to take off our clothes. We were both unsure if we should be completely naked or leave on the little bits. I would recommend leaving on underwear for anyone who is not comfortable. Everything else will need to come off for the oil massage, but you're covered by a blanket the entire time. They may adjust the blanket to reach your thighs or butt (yes, they massage your butt lol), which sounds like it would be uncomfortable but actually isn't after the initial shock. The hot stones feel amazing for anyone thinking of trying them! I totally recommend. As far as tipping, it's like any other service. Yes, you should tip. We tipped a little over 20% for the priced paid because we enjoyed it so much. Try it out you won't regret! A true bang for your buck compared to other places we checked out online.

The 3rd floor #300 suite has a lot of independent contractor offices, so don't expect a spa. The room that I had was nice, table was comfortable. My last massage the sheets were so hard that my boobs hurt after; but these sheets were nice and soft. I really lost track of time and came out relaxed. Her regular hour massages are $65 - so I will definitely come back.

The only thing I would recommend is that if you're getting the 40-minute body and 40-minute foot massage, ask if it's possible to have two different people work on you rather than having one person do both. The second time I went, I had one person do both massages, and I felt like I didn't get the full 40 minutes for each service. It seemed more like 30-35 minutes for my back and maybe another 30 minutes for my feet. I could be wrong, and that's just based on how it felt, but the session definitely seemed shorter than what I expected. They do use a timer, so I would just recommend confirming the time when you start so you know you're getting the full amount you paid for. Other than that, I've really enjoyed the massages both times and left feeling great. I'd definitely come back!

However, in terms of getting any knots out the massage therapists are very effective and typically skew towards quite a bit of pressure. For pricing, it's a bit more expensive than similar concepts in and around NoVA but I'm guessing the mark up is due to it being inside of the mall, so convenient for many shoppers. But would definitely drop by again if I had some extra time and happened to be nearby.

This was a straight-forward no pre-interview type of situation which was fine since I had no need to relate any medical or other historical information.
